Hi everyone,

Thought I'd start a thread for those of us undergoing fertility treatment in July/August.

I'm (hopefully) having a FET late July/early August, anyone else want to hop on this thread for the ride?

Good luck for your egg collection today @Onisa7

Hope your scan goes well today @Tinypaws

Hope the pains have calmed down for you @Passionfruit20, I've had pains on and off too but I think it's just everything stretching down there. They seem worse than my last pregnancy but I have scar tissue from my emcs and laparoscopy so I guess that's to be expected.

Jojo19834 · 27/08/2019 10:13

@facevalue are you going to transfer both?

facevalue · 27/08/2019 11:53

@Jojo19834 even with two the success rate is less than 10% so yep ( assuming they survive until tomorrow)

i don't have much hope if i'm perfectly honest. I think having had disappointments before makes me realistic.

my cousin had 17 rounds of IVF and eventually had a twin! so i'm just aware it's pure luck

Onisa7 · 27/08/2019 14:28

Hi everyone, thank you for your kind words and wishes. I had my egg retrieval today and they got 5 eggs out of 6 follicles. Not sure how I feel. It's not bad but at the same time it leaves us in a more sensitive situation as not many to "play with". The embryologost will call tomorrow to let us know if any fertilized and discuss a possible 3 day transfer. Will see...

Lola124 · 27/08/2019 14:43

So all my pains have stoped just keep getting a little stabbing pain now and again in stomach even boobs aren’t feeling as sensitive anymore Confused 5 days untill test day unless Mother Nature shows up 🙏 she doesn’t

Passionfruit20 · 27/08/2019 14:46

Thanks so much everyone for the support. My clinic has just been silent (they are awful at replying to anything) so just waiting to see at the moment.

@TinyPaws - hoping scan went well?

@onisa7 - 5 isn’t loads, but sometimes fewer can mean better quality. If you get a lovely 2-4 fertilise out of that it could be better than 20 eggs of which lots don’t take, so you never know! This is the hardest bit though I found - so distract yourself as much as you can!

@facevalue 17 rounds of IVF!!! Just the thought of that makes me feel faint.

Onisa7 · 27/08/2019 18:16

@Passionfruit20, yes I know. That's what I keep reminding myself of. Will see tomorrow.

@Lola124 great to hear that the pains have eased now and there's not long to go. Stay strong!

Brambles7 · 27/08/2019 18:38

@Onisa7 I’m glad EC went well. I hope that there’s a good few quality for you, it does only take 1. But I understand the not knowing how to feel, when you’ve got a few to play with. It’s a whole rollercoaster!

@TinyPaws really hoping today went well.

@Passionfruit20 I hope your clinic get back to you soon and you’re able to distract yourself a bit from it all

@facevalue wishing your embryos resilient vibes for tomorrow!

I’ve gone from feeling down on Saturday having had a day 2 transfer to thrilled today that 1 of our 9 remaining embryos made it to day 5 as a blastocyst and has now been frozen. It’s more than I dared hope for so given I had the better quality ones transferred on Saturday, it’s given me more hope. Dangerous hope!

Passionfruit20 · 27/08/2019 18:41

Amazing @brambles7 ! Such good news :D thrilled for you. What a relief having a good quality frostie on ice :)

facevalue · 27/08/2019 19:30

@Brambles7 omg that's fantastic sorry i missed that part of your story. now the TWW? god help you and us all

at least you have the extra one stored now so you can have another baby in the future when u r ready

fingers crossed x

TinyPaws · 27/08/2019 19:38

Thank you so much for the good wishes ladies. I will update properly and reply to everyone once I get some time with my laptop (find it hard to keep up on the phone) but the quick update is that we saw a heartbeat today! We're both really made up and I'm starting to dare to dream just a little! We have another viability scan next week on the NHS because of the miscarriage history. If that goes well I'll be further along than I've ever been before.

Thank you @Passionfruit20 and @facevalue, I really didn’t expect it at all so am thrilled just to have another opportunity if we need!
Yes, 2ww already 4 days in. I went back to work today though, didn’t want to but it has been a welcome distraction.

@TinyPaws brilliant news!! A heartbeat, how absolutely wonderful! And good that you get an extra chance for reassurance next week too. So chuffed for you!

Lola124 · 27/08/2019 20:04

@TinyPaws that’s fantastic news

Peanut1980 · 27/08/2019 20:52

@tinypaws that’s the best news! 😘🥰

sometimesalways · 27/08/2019 21:16

@TinyPaws this is wonderful news!! Woohoo
And amazing that they will be scanning again, it's great for peace of mind.

Dlpdep · 27/08/2019 22:34

@TinyPaws That is amazing! I am so happy for you both! Once you see a heartbeat the chances of a miscarriage drop hugely. This is the one. Xxx

facevalue · 28/08/2019 05:29

@TinyPaws awwww that must have been the best sound ever xxx congratulations

take it easy and all fingers and toes crossed x

Passionfruit20 · 28/08/2019 06:35

So happy for you @TinyPaws!!!!!!!! One step closer!

elleceedee · 28/08/2019 08:27

Amazing news to see this morning @TinyPaws! Sooooo thriller for you!

elleceedee · 28/08/2019 08:27

*thrilled

Onisa7 · 28/08/2019 17:56

@TinyPaws awww that's fantastic news!

@Brambles7 1 in the oven 1 in the freezer! Welll done! I have all my fingers crossed right now.

The embryologist called this morning and 3 out of 5 fertilized. I don't have to tell you how relieved I was to hear those news. It's not a great number but "It only takes 1" right? I'm going back on Friday to see if they're still there and if we're going ahead with a 3 day transfer. What an emotional rollercoaster ...

Peanut1980 · 28/08/2019 18:27

That’s great news @onisa7. Have my fingers and toes crossed for you 🤞🙏🤞😘

Brambles7 · 28/08/2019 19:21

@Onisa7 that’s great news!! It only takes 1, so here’s hoping they are all still there on Friday. Everything crossed for you.

Passionfruit20 · 28/08/2019 19:33

Practical question - anyone on the NHS who’s had a BFP - do I self refer to my regular hospital now? Or wait until after my scan at the clinic? I’m so confused and my clinic (Guys) never answers any of my emails.

facevalue · 28/08/2019 19:58

@passionfruit congratulations on your positive test. basically you call your own GP and let them know you had a positive test and they will refer you for a booking scan and midwife at your local unit. Also you call Guys fertility reception and they will book you a 7 weeks viability scan to confirm things but then that's it u r just a pregnant lady like all others xxx so exciting
