November/December IVF/ICSI/FET

Hi everyone, just had my first down regulation injection this morning with a scan booked for next Thursday. This will be the transfer of my remaining embryo. I had a little boy last year via ICSI so I know I've been very lucky already.

Anyone else starting now?

@Wesstywoo , it was absolutely fine as I've been using ice cubes to numb the area for all my injections. Never had any side effects but since last night my nipples are so sensitive and painful! Ouch! Not even sure what brought this on!

Good luck to everyone having egg collections in the next few days. I was so worried when I had mine and really it wasn't too bad, I felt stupid for being so anxious!
I had my ET on Saturday, lat time I had one I bled a week after feel so anxious now eceytime I go to the loo I expect to see blood.... Xx

Good luck to all you ladies having EC over the next few days. I have been on buserelin for 11 days now. First scan (baseline??) on Tuesday and then first acupuncture on Wednesday. I'm really looking forward to that actually!
I'm having egg donor ivf so no EC for me. Really hoping transfer is on Christmas Eve though as planned!!

@StillLikeAirIRise We’ve done 2 back to back egg collections no transfers yet. I was talked into doing frozen transfers by my docs so we wanted to get as many in the bank as possible before attempting any transfers to take the pressure off. 4 is a very dissapointing number for 3 months of hell but there we go. If none of these 4 take I will probably do a fresh transfer as I can’t deal with how long the whole process takes.
So did you do a 2 embryo transfer the first time?? You said you had 3 I think and 1 left now after 1 attempt? Xx

Hi Amy, this will be my third transfer (in four months) as I've done them all as singles. My clinic will only allow a double transfer if you've had a failed fresh and failed FET at my age and with day 5 blasts. So this transfer we could do two due to the other failures, but we've only one left. If this fails, and we get enough embryos from the next cycle we'll consider transferring two - are you planning two transfers of two?

Have you received your treatment plan for January for the FET?

I had my scan this morning, everything is looking good so far, more follicles have arrived on one side so I think I have about 12ish now. I am exhausted and have headaches today and really struggling at work. Looks like I'll stim for another 2 days, then on track for EC on Friday (so lucky I'll have to he weekend to recover). How are the EC ladies getting on?

I'm back from EC. Wasn't bad at all. Before stims I was predicted to get 1 or 2 eggs due to my AMH level but I got 4! I know it's still not a huge amount but at my end of the scale every one counts so I am pleased. Fingers crossed at least one will fertilise.

Well done @wesstywoo how are you feeling? Did they put the anaesthetic needle in your hand or arm?

@StillLikeAirIRise well we’ve asked for two but I can change my mind. My doc says if you do two then success rate is higher but then if both take more likely for miscarriage which I have a big history of so that makes me nervous. I’m trying to weigh up the pros and cons. What do you reckon??
ET is scheduled For first week of jan currently as long as nothing goes wrong x

Hello, back from ec.I feel a little bit dizzy but the collected 16!very surprised as I have low amh so don't understand very well how this could be possible.@Wesstywoo glad it went well now to wait..

@AmyK18 - it was in my arm, there was a sedative as well but it didn't send me to sleep! Feeling fine now but chilling out with daytime TV as advised!

Welldone with the EC. Rest up and have a treat. Will you hear about the eggs progress tomorrow? How often will they tell you how the embryos are doing? Very exciting.

@LillyLeaf yes will hear tomorrow morning - if any fertlise and last that long ET will be on Saturday. Not too hopeful about reaching that stage at the moment with my numbers but will take 1 day at a time!

@Wesstywoo I feel ok what about you?I think I will spend most of the day lying down.@LillyLeaf they will call tomorrow bto to tell us the progression.They said that depending on the number it will be a 3 or 5 day transfer.

I had another scan today, I have 4 good size follicules and the rest is smaller. Nurse told me to have a triger short tonight at midnight and my EC is on wednesday. Tbo I am happy as straight after scan I felt very stressed that it's not going well, but now I am ok :)

I have to go in for another scan tomorrow, I didn't really ask why because I was at work and people were around when they called, it must be something to do with my blood results because they were happy to see me again on Wednesday after my scan this morning. I wonder if my estrogen is still high and they are being cautious. Can you still be at risk of OHSS with only 12 follicles? Does high estrogen increase the risk of OHSS.

Hi Lilly, when I had my fresh cycle they triggered me because my oestrogen levels were very high at 21,000. I didn't end up with OHSS in the end but got pretty close I reckon, I felt so poorly! When I had the EC though there was only 12 eggs so they let me have a transfer and didn't treat me as having OHSS as they expected the levels to reduce once the eggs were out. So yes, you can be at risk of OHSS if your oestrogen level is high even if there aren't lots of follicles. How do you feel in yourself? I felt very sick and tired and had a pretty constant headache. Felt better in a few days though

@StillLikeAirIRise I've had a headache and I'm very tired but otherwise I'm fine, no nausea. I suppose it's a good thing that the clinic are checking on me although it's hard getting out of work so often.
