Hi everyone, just had my first down regulation injection this morning with a scan booked for next Thursday. This will be the transfer of my remaining embryo. I had a little boy last year via ICSI so I know I've been very lucky already.

Anyone else starting now?

Morning!how everyone is feeling today?I feel so anxious today, the worst day until now.I know it is triggered by EC on Monday but the weird thing is that the negative thoughts are more about work and how stressful is at the momen.i just want to quit but I know I can't.@Russkispy I wonder the same,no idea what to expect.

Russkispy · 01/12/2018 15:10

@AmyK18 , thanks!! My reaction to general anesthetic was tears afterwards. Was just wondering if I would be in pain or discomfort after EC.

Beetroot01 · 01/12/2018 15:41

I had a scan this morning and just received a phone call from hospital. My follicules are a bit small and I am staying on stims for this weekend and have another scan on monday, hope EC on wednesday. This is so stressfull, I don't know what to say at work because I will be off twice next week.

Guio · 01/12/2018 15:46

@Beetroot01 can you just call sick?that is what I am going to do.2 days is not much if everything goes well.i hate my job anyway so I am planning to leave soon if it doesn't work

Beetroot01 · 01/12/2018 16:12

@Guio I hate lying but I don't know what to do. I am so stressed, so anxious, so confused and so tired.

Wesstywoo · 01/12/2018 16:39

I've booked next week as annual leave as thought the dates could potentially have moved and I'm not sure how I'll feel the day after EC. As it's on Monday I hope to go in later in the week. Hope you are ok @guio - i am feeling surprisingly calm today.

Got my fingers crossed for you @beetroot01 hope the follicles get to the right size in the next couple of days

Guio · 01/12/2018 16:44

@Wesstywoo I feel awful, I spent most of the day crying.not sure if it is the increase in medication or anxiety.@Beetroot01i understand you I am the same but we need to care about ourselves and this is what we want.

Wesstywoo · 01/12/2018 16:53

@guio that's understandable - I cried to DH on Wednesday for about an hour out of nowhere, I think he wondered what was going on! This is a big thing to go through and very stressful. Take care of yourself today, I hope you feel better tomorrow xx

LillyLeaf · 01/12/2018 19:03

I had another blood test today, I don't know what the results were but the doctors are happy for me to continue with stilms at the same dose so it looks like my estrogen isn't too high to change my meds. Another step forward, one day at a time.

Beetroot01 · 01/12/2018 21:36

Thank you @Guio and @Wesstywoo for kind words. I am on emotional side as well, I cried yesterday for no reason.
Good luck on monday @Wesstywoo.
Hope all goes well for you @Lillyleaf.

Guio · 02/12/2018 09:36

@Wesstywoo how was your trigger shot last night?did you have the pen?it was so different from the other injections.I don't feel the bloating anymore, very strange.do you have another scan tomorrow or straight to EC?mine will be at 10 am so I guess no sleep tonight...

Wesstywoo · 02/12/2018 10:18

@guio Mine was with a syringe - it didn't hurt (in fact none of my injections have hurt!) but I had a big drop of blood come out when I pulled the needle out! I must have hit a capillary. I feel the same as I have all week, physically I haven't had any symptoms, it's the emotional side that has been more tough. I think I'm going straight to EC tomorrow. How are you feeling today? I am ok at the moment but I am generally quite an anxious person so I don't think I will be sleeping tonight either

LillyLeaf · 02/12/2018 10:44

How did you all feel after 7 days of stims? I thought I would feel more and be more bloated by now, trying not to worry (it's not working). I have another scan tomorrow so hopefully my follicles have grown, I just have an awful feeling this cycle will be cancelled. Hope the triggers were ok, do you feel anything from them?

Guio · 02/12/2018 10:45

@Wesstywoo I had the same,a big drop of blood but no brushes.I feel more relaxed than yesterday but tomorrow will be another story.I will try to keep occupied, Netflix is my best distraction 😂. Whatever will be will be

StillLikeAirIRise · 02/12/2018 10:49

Morning ladies, can I join?

I'm now on day 2 of a HRT protocol for a FET having had my fresh cycle in September that ended in a BFN but with 2 blastocysts going into the freezer. First frozen transfer was last month with it ending in BFN Wednesday and due to the Christmas slow down, the clinic contacted me yesterday to transfer the last embryo this month as they've opened up some extra space for frozen cycles to make up for not accepting fresh cycles.

Bit of a shock and am a bit apprehensive as the transfer is provisionally booked for the 18th making the OTD 31st. 🙄 obviously I'm very used to negative pregnancy tests but not massively looking forward to staring at one on NYE but there we go. I've had a word with myself and am now looking at it that if it works, great. If not, then this entire cycle is done and dusted and left behind in 2018, so I can start again literally fresh in 2019 and hopefully next year will be different for us.

Best of luck to you all reaching trigger shots and EC, I remember the strange mix of anxiety, hope, excitement and dread very well! It's enough in itself to make you feel quite poorly without the cocktail of medications!

AmyK18 · 02/12/2018 11:53

Hi @StillLikeAirIRise - am envious of your transfer this month I was meant to be Dec also but delayed now till Jan due to Xmas.
Good luck to you! What’s your situ if you don’t mind me asking, ie age fertility diagnosis, how long you been ttc etc x

AmyK18 · 02/12/2018 11:54

Good luck tomorrow @Guio I hope it goes well for you x

Wesstywoo · 02/12/2018 16:48

@Guio you're right - we've done all we can and what will be will be. Good luck with your EC tomorrow (and enjoy your injection free evening tonight!) xx

StillLikeAirIRise · 02/12/2018 16:51

Hi Amy, cheers for the welcome. I'm 34, have a 10 year old son from a previous relationship and have been TTC for 3 years 3 months with my husband. Found out in this year that he has a low count unfortunately hence the ICSI. My AMH was 25 and AFC 16 earlier this year and the scans have shown no reason the last 2 blasts wouldn't implant, but I guess that's just the odds of IVF.

I find the not knowing incredibly stressful and as much as I want a baby, I also really just want this to all be over and to just not have to watch everyone else 'fall' pregnant apparently at will. Anyway, that's the last moan - I'm going to be grateful to have this chance of embryo transfer.

When are you starting treatment Amy? What protocol etc are you on?

AmyK18 · 02/12/2018 17:12

@StillLikeAirIRise - I’m 33 in January. We got married December last year and have been trying since then. My husband went and got checked in Feb this year and was fine. I then had 3 back to back very early miscarriages so I went and got checked July this year and they found I had a uterine septum which I have had 50% surgically removed ;and also apparently have PCOS, very high AMH). We did our first cycle last month and have just done my second. Both times only got two blastocysts which was unexpected as I have a high ovarian reserve. On top of that since we started ivf my husband seems to have randomly dropped down to 10% motility so now reliant on icsi
We were meant to do our first frozen transfer this month but will now be early Jan.
What’s really thrown me recently is I found out that apparently over 50% of all embryos havr chromosomal abnormalities! How is that poss? We were going to do a pgs testing in the last cycle but didn’t get enough blastocysts to make it worth it x

AmyK18 · 02/12/2018 17:13

See pic below, have you seen that before?

November/December IVF/ICSI/FET
StillLikeAirIRise · 02/12/2018 18:15

Wow Amy, how have you found doing 2 fresh cycles back to back? I founds the stims the most physically exhausting part!

Yes, I knew about the rate of genetically abnormal embryos so have kept in my head that statistically of my 3 embryos only one was likely to be normal - now that I'm on my last one though, it's hard to believe that it will work. I'll leave it a month for the next one though, I'm pretty tired of scans and waiting rooms and making up reasons of why I'm always at the hospital so will give myself January off! I'm sorry to hear that this has all kicked off for you since getting married, you wouldn't wish all of this on any couple and everyone innocently asking when kids will come along 😖 (we got married in March, I empathise!)

Russkispy · 02/12/2018 19:01

Trigger is done now, shifted by a few hours forward meaning EC is on Tuesday first thing in the morning. All meds and injections done today and free and rest day tomorrow. Hopefully is EC is a big success and things will develop nicely for ET.
@Guio and @Wesstywoo , good luck with you EC tomorrow. Hope it all goes well!

Wesstywoo · 02/12/2018 19:21

Thanks @Russkispy hope your tigger was ok!

Guio · 02/12/2018 19:24
