Hi ladies!

Round 2 down regulation has just started. Embryo transfer should be 1/2 November. Going for 2 embryos this time.

Anyone else just starting a round? x

I posted a long message here and then my phone browser crashed, argh!

@Lillyleaf I'm sorry that must be so frustrating to hear. I really hope they will have good news for your tomorrow. Hugs.

@Vida81 thanks for the welcome! Sorry to hear you also suffer from endo, it's such a horrid disease. Good luck with your EC - that stage must be so exciting! I feel like it'll be ages until I get there. Only on day 2 of buserelin injections.

@Smith good luck with the EC as well!

I'm a bit stressed today. I have a shitty cold on top of starting these meds and i just can't seem to concentrate at work! Really worried as it's just the beginning and I'm not focusing at work. I also have a headache and feel a bit spaced out. Did anyone else have those symptoms?

Its really hard trying to balance work stress and look after oneself during this process. I also suffer from generalised anxiety so this is just quite overwhelming. I can't wait for the weekend lol so I have no responsibilities then!

PlayingPositive · 23/10/2018 10:40

@flutterby7 hope your scan goes well too.

Rememberallball · 23/10/2018 12:07

Hi Ladies, sorry I’m not around and participating much at the moment. I went down too Cornwall last Thursday (second week in a row) and, this time, picked up the keys to our new home. DH joined me on Friday evening and we had a good weekend exploring our new town and meeting some of the locals.

We have got removals firm booked for next week and then we will be pretty much there in terms of moving though DH will have to come back up to London for work for a few weeks.

Sadly we’ve also decided to postpone the ivf till the new year because everything is happening too close to our anticipated flight to Cyprus for me to know it will all be sorted out and I think we won’t actually be completing on the sale of my DM’s house until after we should be in Cyprus.

So I’m going to wish you all the best of luck and hope there are lots of lines on sticks coming all your ways. I’ll pop my head in from time to time to see how you’re all getting on but my October/November journey is over before it ever really got started!!

LillyLeaf · 23/10/2018 12:51

@PlayingPositive I feel exactly the same today, can't focus on my work, I just want to go home. I'm trying not to think about it otherwise I'll start crying. I woke up with a headache too, don't know if it's the Buserelin. It's amazing how one day can change from feeling positive to feeling utter crap.

Flutterby7 · 23/10/2018 13:06

@PlayingPositive and @LillyLeaf I have had a couple of headaches whilst on the Buserelin. I spoke to someone and hey said it can be normal. The stress probably doesn’t help that!!
Try and all keep positive. I had a good scan today and my overies have shut down as they should have done so next will be the stimulation drugs.

LillyLeaf · 23/10/2018 15:50

My fertility doctor wants to stop this cycle, so I have to wait until cd14 4th Nov to start taking Norethisterone until 19th Nov and then start again, I'm so annoyed and frustrated as I was so ready, now it will be a month before I start injecting again, aahhh.

Vida81 · 23/10/2018 17:58

@LillyLeaf
So sorry to hear they have cancelled it for now. Hopefully it's for a good reason and next time they get it perfect. Onwards & upwards! Xx

PlayingPositive · 23/10/2018 18:04

@Lillyleaf I'm really sorry to hear about the delay, that must be really stressful. Just goes to show how unpredictable this whole journey is and so unique to our bodies. I'm sure the doctor has good reasons to delay so hopefully the month break will be good for you. We'll wait for your updates. Smile

@flutterby7 great news on your scan, happy to hear it went well! So will you now be in two injections a day? I'm supposed to go onto the 2 injections (buserelin & menopur) in 2 weeks if all goes well. I left work at 5pm instead of 7pm so I'm trying to make small changes in my lifestyle to increase my relaxation and down time - I hope it helps! I'm constantly thirsty at the moment lol I guess drinking loads of water isn't a bad thing.

Sending good vibes to everyone x

Flutterby7 · 23/10/2018 19:10

@LillyLeaf sorry to hear you have to delay. Your body is important though so I’m sure it’s for the best. Hopefully it goes a lot smoother for you next month!

@PlayingPositive I have to wait until tomorrow, they will call me in the afternoon and tell me when to start the stimulation drugs. But yes I believe within a matter of days I will then be on the two! 😬
I have been thirsty all the time recently actually! Maybe that is a random side effect!
Well done on the lifestyle changes! I think that is really important. I have made as many changes as I can too. Trying to finish work on time and not stay late, less caffeine, and time for me!

Guio · 23/10/2018 19:50

Hi all, my period has just come.i thought a miracle could just happened before IVF but no...starting the pill tomorrow but I don't know for how long, minimum 2 weeks.anyone is the same stage?I can see that I am very behind from most of you here!I am so nervous and excited in one way x

BlueSarah · 23/10/2018 21:32

Hi everyone. Haven't been on for a while so just trying to catch up with all the goings-on!
@LillyLeaf and @Rememberallball sorry to hear you are having to postpone your cycles - the waiting is so hard isn't it, feel like my life is in limbo at the moment.

I am on day 14 of Buserelin nasal sprays. Was feeling fine until Sunday when I got so bloated! Not as bad today, stomach just feels all over the place and I keep needing the loo.
@PlayingPositive I'm also finding it hard to concentrate at work, I just feel a bit...odd...not sure how to describe it...just not quite right. Don't know if that's the drugs or just going through this process.

Today I went for a blood test to check the Buserelin is doing it's job. She had a few goes at poking about in my arm before admitting defeat (I have funny veins) so decided to scan me instead. I'm just at the end of AF so felt really embarrassed having someone poking about down there when it's a bit yuk Blush. But all looked good so starting stim injections on Friday.

Happy thoughts everybody xx

TinyPaws · 24/10/2018 10:29

Hello ladies!

I've just started a long protocol IVF cycle today!

I'm 32 with a same sex partner. I also have Hashimoto's, slightly irregular cycles, and a low AMH for my age.

This is my first IVF cycle but I've had 3 cycles of stimulated IUI, 2 of which resulted in BFN on test day and 1 of which resulted in a missed miscarriage.

Did my first burserelin injection this morning, it quite fairly easy to do and almost painless but the injection site is very itchy with a little red rash. Apparently this is nothing to worry about.

Flutterby7 · 24/10/2018 13:08

@TinyPaws I get a little red rash and itching on the injection site every time but it doesn’t last long.
And welcome 😊

Catren · 24/10/2018 13:17

Tinypaws and flutterby i had the same and found a cold damp flannel applied after the injection for a bit tends to reduce the itching, swelling and redness. Hope that helps!

TinyPaws · 24/10/2018 17:55

@Flutterby7 @Catren The nurse recommended massaging the injection site after injecting to help the drug disperse. Not sure if it helped or not, but when I checked a couple of hours later the redness had gone. I will try the flannel too!

Flutterby7 · 24/10/2018 17:59

@Catren and TinyPaws good ideas!
I start the stimulation drugs tonight so will have two injections everyday for the next week or so, so that is good to know!
Hope you’ve all had a good Wednesday x

PlayingPositive · 25/10/2018 10:14

Hi ladies, hope you're having a good day. I've been sick with cold and cough which started just before I began my buserelin injections on Monday. Have any of you experienced this? I'm not sure if its a side effect or an unfortunate coincidence. I feel so crap and want to go home from work but then I'm thinking if this is from the meds then I can't just always be off work! Such a crap situation. I'm coughing up phlegm so it's viral. Urghhh!

Today was the first time I did my injection all by myself without the hubby supervising - was so scared but I got through it! 4 days in so far. Smile

@flutterby7 lifestyle changes lasted a day lol left work late yesterday. I find it hard to put me first instead of work. And feel like when I'm on the stims ill probably want time off then?? It's a real pickle.

I also get a rash after the injection ladies but it's not been so bad. I feel like a pin cushion lol.

@guio, @tinypaws & @bluesarah welcome! How are you both getting on?

Sending happy vibes your way x

PlayingPositive · 25/10/2018 10:18

I meant so its probably viral. Annoying I can't edit messages here lol.

How are you ladies balancing self-love and care while managing a job? I'm struggling and it's only 4 days. I also got all emotional and then excited yesterday and told my sisters about the ivf. I regret now as they were happy for me and I feel now if it doesn't work it'll feel even worse.

I'm just anxious or maybe it's the meds. Who knows! X

FingersXssd83 · 25/10/2018 11:43

Really gutted, we had 10 eggs collected yesterday and the embryologist has just called to say 7 were mature and only 3 fertilised through standard IVF. That means we're below average fertilisation. She said they'll have a better idea tomorrow to about 80-90% certainty as to the quality of the embryos but we should keep Sat free because they might call us in that day for a three day transfer. So upset, I never wanted to leave starting a family until 35 and now feel like it isn't ever going to happen 😞

Catren · 25/10/2018 11:54

Fingersxd sorry you're disappointed, you got a good batch there so I can see why only 3 fertilised isn't great news. Remember it only takes one, and hopefully you'll have a couple at day 3/5. Were you hoping to transfer more than one? Fingers crossed you get good news.

Catren · 25/10/2018 11:56

I'll be heading in for my transfer of a 5day old frozen blast on monday. Second transfer after last month's chemical so hoping it's the one for us. Not looking forward to the clexane jabs as they're painful apparently argh! Hope everyone's doing okay

FingersXssd83 · 25/10/2018 14:50

Thanks for your reply @Catren We were hoping for 4-5 fertilised to give us a good chance to get to day 5 and transfer one plus a frostie if we were lucky but hopefully they'll be good quality when we find out more tomorrow.

Is this your first cycle? Do you have anymore frosties at all?

TinyPaws · 25/10/2018 17:19

@PlayingPositive If it started before you started the injections it's probably just inconvenient coincidence? Congrats on your first solo injection! It is hard to balance self care/relaxation with other responsibilities, I have stopped doing any overtime at work (I am only contracted to work 30 hours per week but was previously doing about 40) and am making time to meditate daily (most days only 10 mins though) which helps me to feel calmer.

@FingersXssd83 So sorry your fertilisation rates were disappointing. You're still in with a chance this cycle - well, three chances - so he're hoping those little zygotes develop well! Are you in the unexplained camp? I wonder if ICSI would have produced a higher fertilisation rate?

@Catren Good luck with your transfer!

The buserelin's doing weird things to my internal thermostat but otherwise I feel pretty normal. I'm moody and I want to clean everything but that's normal for me at this stage in my cycle tbh! Just trying to take things one step at a time and stay mellow.

Vida81 · 25/10/2018 17:57

@FingersXssd83
Hi sorry to hear u feel like that, however I think 3 is still a good number. We got 5 so not much better, they'll confirm on Sat if we go for 3 or 5 day implantation. Let's stay positive n wait, one of those could be our future beautiful babyWinkxx

Flutterby7 · 25/10/2018 19:16

@PlayingPositive it’s prove just a virus. Take some vitamins maybe under advice obv.
I have only just started the stimulation drugs but from what I hear I doubt you’d need time off on those. I think it’s just time off for the egg collection and then the implant.
Well done for doing your first injection on your own! I know how you felt.

@FingersXssd83 like others have said, it only takes one. Try and stay positive.
I think all of us in our situation have a chance and we have to stay as positive as we can and take one step at a time. 🤞🏻

@Catren and @Vida81 good luck with your transfers!

I am on day two of stimulation drugs and have scans booked in for next week to keep an eye on everything. Stimulation drug I have had a bigger needle and I freaked out a little yesterday. Husband away tonight working so I really have to man up and do this tonight!! 😬😬
