@Vida81 yeah my husband likes being involved too so he does most of them. But now and then he works nights and so I had to be able to do it myself.
Yes we are at similar stage, but I think I am a little behind you. I haven’t started the stimulation drugs yet 😬
Fingers crossed for you for tomorrow that your follicles will all be good 🤞🏻

AF has finally arrived with the worst cramps ever, I can't remember the last time that was a good thing. I'll be starting the Buserelin injections tonight and hopefully have the baseline scan tomorrow. It's actually happening. I'm very excited and weirdly looking forward to the first injection.... 1,2,3 jab it in

Hello ladies,

I hope you're all doing well! I am trying for my first baby and going to start my first IVF ICSI cycle very soon. This is my first ever post on this forum. Hope you don't mind me joining your thread. :) I'm not telling many people at all so hoping that having some support here will help deal with the highs and lows of the IVF journey.

I'm quite excited and yet nervous! We've been trying for 2.5 years (I have endometriosis / Hubby has low morphology/prostatitis) so I am just happy to be leaving it all to science now since nature hasn't been too fair on us!

I have the nurse coordination appointment today so am very anxious waiting to see what happens and when exactly I can start the dreaded injections.

Best of luck to all. :)

x

@PlayingPositive welcome and good luck.
I haven’t told many people either and so just being able to talk on here with people that are going through the same thing is great.
@LillyLeaf yey! Good luck for your first injection!! X

I have one failed NHS cycle from last year. This cycle is private through access fertility. I would like to wish you all the best of luck on your cycles :-)

Welcome to @PlayingPositive and good luck on starting your injections @LillyLeaf

Injecting in my belly overall has gone well @Vida81 The only bruise I had was the one in my leg!

Had my final scan today and booked in for EC on Weds so doing my trigger tonight. Eek!

Still disappointed with 11 follicles and some tiny ones after an AFC of 16 although the nurses said it's better to have fewer but better quality and a cluster what like I have. I'm convinced they're just trying to make me feel better...

Here's where I'm at:

Endometrium 8.9mm
Left ovary: 21mm, 18mm, 17mm, 17mm, 17mm, 16mm, 15mm 14mm
Right ovary: 19mm, 18mm, 17mm

I suppose there's no point worrying now. What will be will be!

@PlayingPositive welcome. I haven't told anyone (DP knows obviously), I didn't want anyone asking if it's worked or not. How did your appointment go? Do you know when you'll start?

@smith1986 I'm using access fertility too. How's the Buserelin injections, I'll be doing my first one tonight.

@FingersXssd83 that sounds great, so exciting, you're so close, how are you feeling?

Good evening everyone,

Thanks for the warm welcome, LillyLeaf, Flutterby7 & FingersXssd83!

@LillyLeaf - My appointment went well thank you. It was quite overwhelming with all of the information - I'm quite glad that I'm the kind of person who wants to research a lot beforehand, I think it helped today. The biggest shock was that I had to start my injections today!!! I am on the Long 21 protocol and basically today is day 23 of my cycle so the Head Nurse said I should start with the Buserelin today. So off we went to the Pharmacy and got our meds and did the first injection in the hospital (I'm at Wolfson Centre). I will do the rest of them in the mornings as initially instructed. I found the mixing of injection and mechanics of it more difficult than stabbing the injection into my belly! So now I have 13 days until my first baseline scan.

When I got home I just burst into tears - it's all a bit too much and too quick! But then again I've been waiting for a very long time for this so I am also happy. :) I think I can handle the Buserelin - how fast acting is it?? Would the symptoms show up already?

Good luck with your first injection tonight! Let us know how you get on. Do you mind me asking how comes you're having the base line scan on day 1? My clinic has booked my base line scan 2 weeks away - apparently its a scan to check if the ovaries have been suppressed properly. What protocol are you on?

@FingersXssd83 - I hope your trigger injection and EC goes well!

@Flutterby7 - It is lovely to share this journey with others who can really empathise.

@ PlayingPositive- no wonder you had a little cry you've been thrown straight in, i had to wait till my next day 23 before i could start, good luck with tomorrows injections, i'm on day 7 of buserelin and no side effects as of yet, just make sure you drink plenty of water x

@smith1986 - It was a total shock because we just went through the injections tutorial and I was trying to process all that and pretty afraid that I didn't quite get it (and would have to look at the videos on the drugs on how to administer correctly!) and then I realised my day of the cycle lol and that my injection is today. It's a bit crazy to think that I'll know if I'm preggers before Xmas. Trying not to dream too much and be realistic - but I'm just hopeful.

Good to hear your injections are not giving you any nasty side effects - long may it last! I feel pretty normal apart from my sore boobs which is my usual PMS symptom. Good point on the water - must drink more!

@PlayingPositive I'm doing short protocol, so I don't down reg, I with start with stims tomorrow if my baseline scan is ok. No wonder you feel shocked, most of us have had time to get mentally ready.

@smith1986 we got 3 cycles with 50%refund (we were also offered 70%refund) with access fertility, it's a hell of a lot of money but I does help thinking the first round is the practice, I'm 35.

I did my Buserelin injection. My plan of 1,2,3 jab didn't quite go as planned, I just kept counting to 3 over and over again, I thought I was going to be fine, it took ages, but it was my first and I think I'll be ok tomorrow. I also spent ages trying to get the tiny bubbles out, it's impossible.

Lilly don't worry - you don't need to get all the bubbles out since you aren't injecting into a vein.

Good luck with Egg Retrieval tomorrow Smith and Vida Hope you enjoy a jab free day today!

It seems like this cycle is going sooo slow for me - should be starting on meds next week if all goes according to plan.

Just had my baseline scan, I had 2 'bigger than they should be' follicles on one ovary and normal on the other. They took blood to see if they are producing estrogen, I'll have another scan tomorrow. They might cancel this cycle and I'll take a pill on cd 14 to make them dormant then start again. Not the best start. Feeling shitty

Flutterby7 · 23/10/2018 10:08

Lilly, none of that sounds good for you at the moment. Sorry it’s not going to plan.
I’m 35 and with access fertility too.
