@PositiveThinkingRainbow, we had our ivf in Cyprus last year and had ET onthursday afternoon, rested by the pool Friday and then flew home on Saturday. DH and DM wouldn’t even let me carry my handbag let alone actually do anything!! This time round (when we get there) we’re going to go out later in my cycle - probably around CD12 not 7 like last time - so will have the luxury of a few extra days in the sunshine before we fly home. I’ve also stopped working so, once we’re home, I don’t need to worry about going back to work!!

@NBParis, isn’t timing such a bugger!! Had to cancel from earlier in the year as DM passed away and I had to use my annual leave to cover losing pay when I wasn’t working. Then we were planning on October but sold the house so decided we’d wait till after completion to go; now it looks like we’re completing 2-3 days before we should fly which will be a total nightmare hence thinking we’ll just wait till the new year - I need to speak to my clinic later on!!

@LilyLeaf, sorry for the bfn. One step closer to things happening - I told my coordinator last year that it’s the o Liu time in my love I’ve actually wanted AF to appear!!

NBparis · 19/10/2018 10:35

@rememberallball it's a nightmare, isn't it? I didn't do anything all last year cause I was too freaked about work and now kinda regret all that wasted time. But now, Ive stopped work for a bit and consumed about whether it's a good idea. Nothing is just simple, straightforward!!

FingersXssd83 · 19/10/2018 11:07

Just got back from my first scan and have 10 large follicles between 10-15mm plus a few small ones that they don't think will catch up and a endometrium of 9mm. Have to go back for another scan on Monday and my EC is expected on Weds. I'm a bit concerned about the number of follies as at my initial test they saw 16 without any stimulation. Do they sound like a reasonable number?

LillyLeaf · 19/10/2018 15:00

@FingersXssd83 that sounds like a good number and they can often increase in just a few days, you don't want too many. How you feeling physically?

Flutterby7 · 19/10/2018 16:58

How do people feel on the stimulation drugs? I’m worried about how it’s going to make me feel.

LillyLeaf · 19/10/2018 17:11

@Flutterby7 I'm worried too, I'll be on Ovaleap 300 IU hopefully it will be ok.

orangefolly · 19/10/2018 17:25

flutter and lilly I felt like superwoman when I was on the stimming drugs - really great! Felt crap when downregging.

fingers that sounds like a good number. It never quite seems to match with what they get in egg collection anyway, and quality is the most important thing

orangefolly · 19/10/2018 17:26

Dreading downregging this time!

FingersXssd83 · 19/10/2018 17:49

@Flutterby7 @LillyLeaf @orangefolly I felt great on the Menopur the Cetrotide has made me feel quite bloated. I've been getting a bit pissed off with DH to which usually means I'm hormonal!

I'm a complete needle phobe and a bit of a wimp tbh so I thought it would be a nightmare but it really isn't all that bad (so far!).

I keep hearing it's a numbers game although I found an article on the Create website which says they aim for 10-12 follies so hopefully things are going well. I'm trying to remain positive!

Are you ladies doing anything nice this weekend to take your mind away from the inevitable? X

Flutterby7 · 19/10/2018 19:02

@LilyLeaf fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Thanks ladies, I will stay positive and hope I feel like super woman too!

I am trying to just do all normal things at the moment so weekend plans are seeing some family and friends and trying to forget about everything else.
I hope you have some good plans

Flutterby7 · 19/10/2018 19:04

@FingersXssd83 I’ve been getting pissed off with the DH too! Poor guy, I am trying to bite my tongue and remember it’s just my hormones.

LillyLeaf · 19/10/2018 20:17

I'm a bit worried that I don't really have many drugs to take (which sounds strange). I start with Buserelin on cd1, then I have my baseline scan then they hopefully tell me to start on Ovaleap for 8 days (which I think can change depending how I respond)and continue with Buserelin at the same time, then the trigger shot, then Cyclogest progesterone again, I am on short protocol but it doesn't seem enough drugs to do anything. Anyone else on short protocol? Are you taking similar drugs?

Flutterby7 · 19/10/2018 20:28

@LilyLeaf I am on the same as you. Buserelin at the moment. Then a scan and then the stimulation drugs and then a shot when they say.
I’m sure everywhere and everyone is different so we will just have to see how we get on.

LillyLeaf · 19/10/2018 21:27

@Flutterby7 how's the Buserelin, any side effects?

Flutterby7 · 20/10/2018 09:13

@LilyLeaf I have been on it for about 16 days and It’s not been too bad, the main thing I noticed straight away was bloating. I have felt a bit moody the last couple of days but other than that it’s been ok for me so far.
When are you due to start?

Vida81 · 20/10/2018 13:11

Hi I had my second scan yesterday too, another on Monday n ER on Wednesday Smile Only have 9 eggs tho, hopefully some good ones there. Have they told u about the trigger yet?Vxx

Vida81 · 20/10/2018 13:14

@FingersXssd83
My last msg was for you. Sorry new hereBlush

Vida81 · 20/10/2018 13:19

Hi to everyone😊
Going through my first ivf n very excited, except for the injecctions...hope you all have a nice weekend n good progress on your treatments Vxx

FingersXssd83 · 20/10/2018 15:04

Hi @Vida81 Is this your first cycle? I have another scan on Mon and EC on Weds. They haven't mentioned the trigger shot yet so I'm expecting that conversation on the second scan.

I struggled to inject with menopur in my abdomen last night so did it in my thighs and worrying that I've done it wrong as I've been reading online that abdomen is better.

Does anyone else inject in the thigh?

FingersXssd83 · 20/10/2018 15:11

Oh sorry @Vida81 I missed your last message 🙄 Looks like we'll be going through our first cycles at the same time. I wish you good luck! xxx

LillyLeaf · 20/10/2018 16:59

@Flutterby7 I'll start Buserelin as soon as my period starts so hopefully tomorrow or Monday, I just need the progesterone to get out of my system, I took the last Cyclogest on Thursday night so I'm 2 days without it.
Are you taking anything else at the moment. I will take Buserelin on cd 1 then start ovaleap pretty much the next day if I've had my baseline scan.

@Vida81 well come, how are you finding the injections? Any side effects?

I'm so nervous about getting bloated as my work place really gossips and people will think I'm pregnant.

Flutterby7 · 20/10/2018 17:56

@LillyLeaf I’m just on Buserelin only at the moment. I think everyone’s protocol is different so try not to worry too much about what you are on and go with it.
As for the bloating I wouldn’t say you can see it, it’s more the feeling and so don’t worry I’m sure your work won’t see. X

LillyLeaf · 20/10/2018 18:46

@Flutterby7 thanks I know I'm starting to worry a bit. Our clinic messed up my first drugs prescription and I only noticed when the lady at the pharmacy read it to me then I thought that sounds different to what the clinic had told me so I then checked with the clinic and they confirmed it was wrong. This is a private clinic that I'm paying for! Just kinda getting a bit nervous now and I just want this AF to arrive. I've had very mild cramps today so I don't think it will come tomorrow.

Flutterby7 · 20/10/2018 21:54

@LillyLeaf Oh no, I see why that would make you worry!! The drugs that I have came from a separate drug company. The clinic give the prescription and then the drug company deliver the drugs so maybe it’s the same with yours. I’m sure the clinic will be good. 🤞🏻
I know how hard it is to not think about it all and I also know how hard it is to relax even if you know it’s the best thing but try and find something to take your mind off it and then maybe things will start to happen. I really get that it’s not easy to do that tho.
I’m nervous about what’s going to happen too.

Flutterby7 · 20/10/2018 21:57

@Vida81 I was really worried about the injections too and have a bit of a fear of neeedles. I had to get my other to do it for me. He was great. Then after a couple of times i managed to do it myself and it’s actually quite easy. 😊 good luck x
