Hi ladies!

Round 2 down regulation has just started. Embryo transfer should be 1/2 November. Going for 2 embryos this time.

Anyone else just starting a round? x

I should add that I know that I am lucky to get 7 eggs - but it's hard not to feel a little flat when results are below expectations.

twodogsonecatnobaby · 21/11/2018 17:19

@TinyPaws totally understand feeling flat! This whole process you never know what to expect and everything feels so outside your control.

I recommend a hot water bottle on your lower tummy to help it recover. My clinic recommended that for me and it really helped. 7 is a good number, fingers crossed for fertilisation.

Had a nervous wait for the phone call this morning. Embryo transfer is now tomorrow, one of the unfertilised eggs has fertilised yesterday! So two freshies are going in tomorrow. Wish I could say I'm excited but I'm actually feeling very tired and a bit anxious

orangefolly · 22/11/2018 07:46

Good luck today @twodogsonecatnobaby. Not surprised you are feeling tired and anxious - it's such a nerve wracking process and you have just had surgery! But once the embryos are in there you can take it easy.

@TinyPaws good luck to you too - I hope you get good fertilization rates. Does that mean you could be doing a transfer tomorrow? Or is Day 2 today?

Had my first progesterone injection last night. My poor DH was more scared about it than me - I've done all the injections up to now but can't really see properly to do them in my ass cheek. It was fine though, not as sore as I was expecting considering it's intramuscular. It's a long needle but at least it's not too thick! I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with yet more meds yesterday, but come to terms with it today - we'll get in a routine.

TinyPaws · 22/11/2018 18:10

@twodogsonecatnobaby Thanks for the hot water bottle tip, really helpful! That's great news another egg fertilised! I hope your transfer went well today?

@orangefolly Thanks for the good luck wishes! Glad the progesterone injection wasn't too bad!

I'm feeling quite sore today after egg collection yesterday. Of the 7 eggs collected, 4 have fertilised normally (1 egg contained no genetic material, 1 was mature but did not fertilise, and 1 was fertilised by 2 sperm). I am provisionally booked for day 2 transfer tomorrow.

Obviously I would have preferred all of them to fertilise normally but 4 is much better than the worst case scenarios that were running through my head so overall I'm a bit relieved. Now keeping everything crossed that Hubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble* develop nicely.

*Names not fixed, I haven't come up with anything better yet though!

twodogsonecatnobaby · 22/11/2018 18:46

Thanks for the well wishes @orangefolly and @TinyPaws! Transfer went smoothly today although my bladder felt like it was going to burst!! Might have had way too much water beforehand. Two 3 day embryos now onboard. Test date is the 5th December.

@orangefolly - big needle does sound scary! Glad you got the hang of it so quickly. How are you coping with the wait?

@TinyPaws congrats on 4 fertilised! Glad the hot water bottle helped. Fingers crossed hubble, bubble, toil and trouble keep developing nicely

Flutterby7 · 23/11/2018 07:35

BFN for me today. 😢
I knew it was going to be as I had period pains the last two days and a small amount of blood. The worst part is the thought of having to start all over again.

Good luck to the rest of you xx

StillLikeAirIRise · 23/11/2018 08:03

Same for me flutterby my OTD is Wednesday but sometimes you just know so I've tested early so I can stop daydreaming of that positive result.

It's no consolation now for you but I've found the second time much less emotional than the first so I hope that not only the next time works for you, but that the process is easier. Look after yourself for the next few days and do whatever helps you feel better.

Catren · 23/11/2018 08:49

Sorry to hear about the bfns flutterby and still , fingers crossed for next time and look after yourselves. We're waiting until January to try again after immune system testing (results in 2 weeks) so in a way it's nice to have a break over Christmas. 3 more frosties to go through before we're back to the drawing board so definitely don't want to waste them.

Trying2bemum · 23/11/2018 09:44

Really sorry still and flutterby it's absolutely shit. It helped me to remember that IVF is far from an exact science and some people have to throw the dice a few times. It's taken us three fresh cycles to get a BFP. It's so tough going though xxx

Good luck with your embryos tiny and best of luck to everyone in the TWW

Flutterby7 · 23/11/2018 10:13

@StillLikeAirIRise thank you. I can imagine it will be a bit easier next time as at least I now know what to expect.
Sorry to hear you haven’t had a good result either.
@Catren a break over Christmas is good. And good luck for the new year!

@Trying2bemum you are right! Thank you xx

twodogsonecatnobaby · 23/11/2018 10:31

@Flutterby7 and @StillLikeAirIRise so sorry to hear about your BFNs. This is a gruelling process to go through. Take extra care of yourselves these next few days x

TinyPaws · 23/11/2018 11:27

So sorry for the BFNs @Flutterby7 and @StillLikeAirIRise

@StillLikeAirIRise Was it a 5 day transfer? Is there any hope your embryo may have implanted late?

I had a call from the clinic this morning, of the 4 eggs that fertilised all 4 have developed to the 4 cell stage on the morning of day 2. 3 of these are good quality, 1 is poor quality due to heavy fragmentation. The clinic have recommended to culture all 4 to day 5 so my provisional transfer has been moved to Monday. The embryos will not be inspected again until Monday morning. I just have to hope that at least one of them makes it.

I am feeling a bit better today but I still feel like I've done too many sit ups and (TMI) I'm sore whenever I wee or poo.

TinyPaws · 23/11/2018 11:28

@Trying2bemum @twodogsonecatnobaby Thanks for the good wishes.

BlueSarah · 23/11/2018 14:46

@Flutterby7 I've been thinking of you and looking out for your post. That is really crappy news; hope you are getting through the day and looking after yourself. I know that at the moment the thought of doing it all over again is horrific but hopefully after a break you'll be ready to come back fighting xx

Flutterby7 · 23/11/2018 15:46

@BlueSarah thank you. I wish you all the luck 🤞🏻

StillLikeAirIRise · 23/11/2018 19:10

Thanks everyone, nobody gets it like we do!

Catren I guess I'll see you in the January threads, hope the immune testing results are what you want.

Tiny yeah day 5 frozen transfer but given that I'm 9dp5dt today and 9days is the OTD for some clinics I think it's pretty unlikely to change. That being said, I'll stay on the medication as directed and do a test again Wednesday unless my period arrives - it did at 12 days last time inspite of the progesterone so I'll just wait until then.

Good luck everyone else ❤️

BlueSarah · 24/11/2018 12:14

I've never been able to do this before.
I have a line! GrinShockConfused

@BlueSarah Congratulations!

twodogsonecatnobaby · 24/11/2018 14:24

Oh fantastic @BlueSarah!!! That is definitely a BIG FAT POSITIVE, very happy for you x

Trying2bemum · 24/11/2018 19:32

Congratulations bluesarah!!!

runchunkrun · 24/11/2018 22:17

Newbie here. I'm currently 8dp3dt. OTD is next sat and I'm driving myself crazy with my symptom spotting and mad thoughts. This is my first FET after a failed IVF 3 years ago. This is our last go as we just had one frosty saved.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in. Good luck to all 🤞🏼

twodogsonecatnobaby · 25/11/2018 15:28

Welcome to the thread @runchunkrun and good luck x

FingersXssd83 · 25/11/2018 17:17

Big congrats @BlueSarah xxx

BlueSarah · 25/11/2018 18:13

Thank you everybody; still can't believe it's true. Trying not to get too carried away making plans but it is so hard! Just terrified it's all going to fall apart.
Good luck to you all xx

orangefolly · 26/11/2018 11:11

Wonderful news @bluesarah - congratulations. I know these next few weeks are nervewracking, but wishing you the best.

How are the other 2ww-ers getting on?

I was just thinking to myself how calmly I was managing the wait yesterday but today I am flip flopping and driving myself crazy. Also, the extra progesterone jabs seem to be making me super grumpy!! AngryGrin
