Hi ladies!

Round 2 down regulation has just started. Embryo transfer should be 1/2 November. Going for 2 embryos this time.

Anyone else just starting a round? x

Rubbish isn't it. I want to go again as soon as we can @LillyLeaf Called the clinic last week and can't book in to see our consultant until just before Xmas so considering changing doctors as I want to try again on my early Jan bleed. So disappointed we didn't get any frosties xx

RedPandaFluff · 12/11/2018 10:07

Sorry to read that, @FingersXssd83. It's devastating. All that investment of time, emotion, and often money as well. Hope you can take a couple of days to look after yourself x

Flutterby7 · 12/11/2018 10:42

@Langpants I’m so sorry. This must be so hard. I think giving your body a break and losing some weight sounds like a good idea. I have put in weight too and if I don’t get a positive result I am going to get back to the gym, lose some weight and enjoy some drinks over Christmas and then try to start again.
I am only 3 days into my 2weeks and driving myself mad. It’s so hard to just wait and not know so I am now trying to fill my diary with things to do to distract me. I don’t feel anything or feel any different other than a few symptoms that can be caused by progesterone.

@FingersXssd83 sorry for your result too.

This really does all suck

Langpants · 12/11/2018 21:11

@Flutterby7 - thank you. Wishing you so much positivity in every way. Hope you have more willpower than I did with the testing. 🙈 Please let me know how you get on.

@RedPandaFluff - Thanks for the positive words and love. Sending hugs your way. X

@sarahthewiganer - thanks lovely. Looking forward to hearing your positive news soon. Xxx

@HavelockVetinari - sorry you’ve been through it too. It sucks. :( x

@FingersXssd83 - so so sorry to hear this. Big hugs. Hope you’ll be able to try again soon? It’s so rubbish. Xxx

Thank you @Lillyleaf x

Huge thanks to you all for being so lovely. I’m going to hang around to see how you all get on. We all deserve our bfps. We will get them. Xxx

I'm so sorry @Langpants and @FingersXssd83 it really is devastating when it's something we want so much and it's so easy for others wishing you both the very best with next steps xx

Catren · 12/11/2018 21:38

So sorry langpants, ivf chemicals are particularly hideous. Look after yourself, maybe a break over Christmas time will be a needed distraction and you cab think about starting up in the new year. Still sucks though 💐

sarahthewiganer · 13/11/2018 08:53

I'm on instagram as sarah_isci ivf - there should be an underscore between ICSI and ivf but it wouldn't let me do it.
I'm prob gonna come off here until I'm in another tww :) xx

HavelockVetinari · 13/11/2018 09:21

Best wishes then @sarahthewigganer, hopefully catch up with you in January/February when we're both doing a 2WW again!

orangefolly · 13/11/2018 12:01

Oh no langpants FingersXssd and sarahthewiganer I'm so sorry to hear your news. My thoughts are with you, it's such a tough ride, isn't it? We WILL get there though Flowers

PlayingPositive · 13/11/2018 12:15

Langpants, fingersxssd & sarahthewiganer - really sorry to hear your news. It must be so devastating. Really hope you get through this and the next one gives you the BFP that you deserve!

How is everyone else doing?

As for me, I had my 2nd baseline scan today. My uterus lining has reduced to 4.6mm so I got the go ahead to start my menopur injections on Thursday. Really pleased I am able to move to the next step despite the long journey ahead!

The doctor said I had 6 and 11 follicles in my ovaries. What does this mean? I'm a bit confused what that means for my ivf chances & at my age? I'm 33. Is it normal? The doctor only said its "good".

Thanks for your support everyone x

Flutterby7 · 13/11/2018 15:34

@PlayingPositive I have no idea if the amount of follicles you have is good or not but as an indication, when they were measuring my follicles throughout the stimulation stage I think I had about the same.
I am 35 and they collected 15 eggs which apparently is above average. Out of that 15 I had one get to blastocyst and has been implanted.

What I’m trying to say is try not to think and worry too much about it all. You have follicles and you will get some eggs. Each one of us will get different amounts and different amounts will fertilise.
Good luck for starting your stimulation drugs. Just try and take each step as it comes. 🤞🏻 Xx

orangefolly · 13/11/2018 16:39

Agree with flutterby that there seems to be huge variation in outcomes from the numbers, so try not to get too hung up on them. Wishing you luck for the next step playingpositive! Excited to start the stims?

I had my checkup scan this afternoon and my lining is ready to go, so we're on for Embryo Transfer next Tuesday! Really excited, and nervous. Just keeping my fingers crossed my little frostie thaws out okay. I'm also a bit daunted about the amount of meds I'll be on this time, since we have added clexane, aspirin and prednisolone to the progynova, cyclogest and levothyroxine I was taking last time. I am going to be so full of meds!! Shock

Hope you're all hanging in there ladies Cake

BlueSarah · 13/11/2018 21:24

@Langpants @FingersXssd and @sarahthewiganer sorry to hear your cycle has ended with bad news; hope you will all feel like trying again in the new year xx

So the past 4 days have been the hardest yet, waiting for the phone call each morning from the embryologist. But tomorrow I am having my transfer (touch wood, fingers crossed, not counting my chickens etc). After being sure I was just going to spit out a couple of poor quality eggs (given my age) 11 have made it to the morula stage! One must make it to the blastocyst stage surely!? I will find out in about 12 hours...

Stay positive everyone Flowers

Flutterby7 · 13/11/2018 21:36

@BlueSarah I totally know how you feel!! That 5 day wait was by far the worst part for me. Although I’m only in the beginning of the two week wait at least I’m not waiting on a phone call etc and worrying I won’t even get the chance of a transfer so I totally know how you feel!!
It’s amazing that you have that many at that stage. I’m sure you will get one that reaches blastocyst or early blastocyst at least which apparently is still really good.
Good luck for your transfer. I’ll be thinking of you. 🤞🏻😊 xx

PlayingPositive · 13/11/2018 22:10

@flutterby7 - thanks that's really helpful to know! You're right i shouldn't over analyse everything! How are you feeling now? When is the OTD?

@orangefolly - thank you! I'm actually feeling excited and looking forward to starting the next injections. Curious to see how my body will react. I'll also reduce the buserelin dosage so that will be a relief.

Goodness me that's quite a bit of meds! Just take it easy on yourself. So lovely that you'll have the egg transfer next week - not long to go now.

Xx

PlayingPositive · 13/11/2018 22:12

@bluesarah - just wanted to day good luck with the transfer tomorrow! X

orangefolly · 14/11/2018 07:16

Good luck today @BlueSarah

TinyPaws · 14/11/2018 13:33

@sarahthewiagner Sorry it was a BFN, hope you get some happy news soon.

@twodogsonecatnobaby How are the stims going? Have they upped your dose? I think you might be on a similar timeline to me.

@Tryingtobemum Thinking of you in your 2WW, hope the time is passing quickly. When will you test?

@Langpants So sorry it turned out to be a chemical, it really really sucks. Sad

@Flutterby7 What sort of things are you doing to distract yourself? Hope the 2WW passes quickly!

@PlayingPositive So glad your second baseline scan went well! I felt much better within 24 hours of starting menopur, hopefully you will too!

@BlueSarah Hope the transfer went smoothly and the next 2 weeks pass quickly for you!

@findingmywaytoday Where are you in the 2WW? 16dp5dt seems ages to wait! My hospital says 14dp5dt, I can understand them wanting to wait a long time to avoid seeing false negatives and chemical pregnancies but as I am supposed to be having thyroid function tests as soon as I get a positive result 14dp5dt seems a long time to wait (my previous pregnancy, which ended in miscarriage, I had a clear strong positive at 12dpo).

@orangefolly That is exciting! Good luck!

I had my first scan since starting stims, I have 8 follicles 10-12mm and several smaller ones that may or may not catch up. They are keeping me on the same dose of medication and I'm to return for another scan in 2 days. The doctor seemed happy with progress so far. Hoping for egg collection next week.

Trying2bemum · 14/11/2018 19:41

Best of luck @orangefolly , that is an awful lot of drugs!

Good luck to you too @BlueSarah that's an amazing amount of embryos

Sounds like excellent progress @TinyPaws - just keep stimming

Today was my OTD and I got a BFP. My first ever in three years of TTC and my third fresh cycle of IVF. I'm in total disbelief and keep crying.

Our embryos weren't the best - we had a morula and a 2CC blast. So you just never know. I had written this cycle off from the moment of transfer, and was planning next steps.

It's very early days but for now I'm just grateful to get this far.

TinyPaws · 14/11/2018 19:53

That's fantastic news @Trying2bemum! Congratulations! For some reason I had a good feeling about those little embies, I wonder which one made it (or if both did!). Fingers crossed for a happy healthy pregnancy and congratulations again.

Trying2bemum · 14/11/2018 20:00

Bless you 🙏🏼 and thank you @TinyPaws xx all the best with your cycle xxx

HavelockVetinari · 14/11/2018 20:03

How did it go @BlueSarah? Been thinking about you today, best of luck. Did they tell you how many blasts and the quality?

BlueSarah · 14/11/2018 20:19

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I have a blastocyst in my belly Grin Totally obsessing over everything - am I standing up too much, am I walking too quickly, am I stressing too much!

@TinyPaws that sounds really promising.
@Flutterby7 how is your 2WW going? When is your OTD?
@orangefolly hope the next few days don't drag too much for you.
And @Trying2bemum that is wonderful news! Congratulations to you! Flowers

BlueSarah · 14/11/2018 20:29

Thank you @HavelockVetinari, that is very kind of you. I had 2 at 5AA this morning and another had caught up by the afternoon so 2 got frozen today and I'll find out if any others have made the grade tomorrow xx

Flutterby7 · 14/11/2018 20:44

@Trying2bemum massive congratulations!!! So good to hear this positive news. 😊

@orangefolly best of luck next week for your frostie 🤞🏻

@BlueSarah hey, congratulations! Brilliant that you have some to freeze too! I am only 4dp5dt and it’s driving me mad but I am holding out and have gone back to work which helped a lot today. The distraction felt great. I still have 9 days to go.
I was the same as you the first couple of days which is why I am much happier at work. I have an office job so not strenuous. I keep thinking I have period pains then i think it’s in my head. I Have swollen sore boobs but that is very likely the progesterone. It really is a head scramble isn’t it!!
Try and find things to do and keep occupied. I’m determined not to do a trst until my date.

Glad I have someone to wait it out with!! Xx
