Hi ladies!

Round 2 down regulation has just started. Embryo transfer should be 1/2 November. Going for 2 embryos this time.

Anyone else just starting a round? x

Wishing you luck with your results @Catren. Is this your first cycle? Did you get any frosties?

I'm 10dp5dt too and haven't tested yet. Started spotting yesterday light pink and brown. Was convinced I'd bleed this morning but again only a bit of spotting. Had aches and pains from day 1-6 but other than that nothing. It's sending me mad being on knicker watch! Can't bear to test today or tomorrow as I know I'll be on a massive downer at work getting a BFN. TWW is hard. I've already pencilled in my review meeting so I can start again on next possible cycle. Just want to get off the progesterone now and have a hot bath and eat some naughty food if it hasn't worked.

Hope everyone's feeling positive today xxx

Catren · 08/11/2018 09:18

Thanks fingerssxd it wasn't good news, negative on beta so that's that. It was my second fet (we did a freeze all cycle), we had 5 pgd tested frosties so we're down to three left. I think we'll have more tests before trying again so we don't waste the 5 day blasts that we have. Omg i can't believe you've managed not to test! I have no waiting power. When's your otd?? Sending you alllll the positive vibes for a good result!

orangefolly · 08/11/2018 09:33

Oh I'm so sorry @Catren that's really shit Flowers

HavelockVetinari · 08/11/2018 09:40

Fucksticks, I'm bleeding Sad. I'm only 4dp5dt, can't believe it's all over so quickly!

HavelockVetinari · 08/11/2018 09:40

Sorry to hear that Catren, rubbish news. Good that you've got some frosties though. Will you try again immediately?

orangefolly · 08/11/2018 10:40

Oh no Havelock - could it not be implantation bleeding maybe?

HavelockVetinari · 08/11/2018 11:44

@orangefolly I don't know - I didn't bleed with either of my two cycles that resulted in a BFP (one m/c, one DS). It's kind of pinkish rather than red, and not heavy.

Trying not to get my hopes up too much!

Flutterby7 · 08/11/2018 17:38

@Catren sorry you haven’t had positive news. I hope you get your positive result with the next one.
@HavelockVetinari oh no. This is all so tough isn’t it. We all go on such a long journey and have one goal and yet it just isn’t always possible to get a positive result.
I hope it works out for you x

Guio · 08/11/2018 18:31

Hello, how everyone is doing?I still far from egg collection,3 weeks left if everything goes well, starting buserelin in 5 days...@FingersXssd83 very brave to wait until test day!I hope you get your positive.@HavelockVetinari sorry about that but don't loose hope it could be implantation.@Catren sorry about that,be strong. It is going to be my first one so I need to have the feet on the floor and hope for the best... a question came to my mind but sorry if it sounds silly.i am allowed to 2 fresh and 2 fet so I was wondering what happens after they collect the eggs and they leave them for fertilization.do they freeze the remaining ones that have not fertilized if any or they freeze the blastocyst after put you just one inside?x

FingersXssd83 · 08/11/2018 18:58

Gah! I tested on my lunch today. BFN on 10dp5dt. Not surprised as I've been spotting and had no boob symptoms. Feel remarkably fine, bit numb maybe and just want to crack on with cycle 2. Think being unexplained for so long does that to you. Wishing everyone the best of luck. Hopefully we'll all get our babies soon xxxx

HavelockVetinari · 08/11/2018 19:08

Ah Fingers that sucks. Will you try again straight away? We've already spoken with our consultant, he says we can start a new cycle after my December period if this one's definitely -ve. It's all such a treadmill Sad

StillLikeAirIRise · 08/11/2018 19:16

@Guio I'm not 100% what you're asking but my experience was that after egg collection they tell you how many eggs they managed to retrieve. The following day, I received a call to tell me how many then fertilised. Of those that then fertilised, they observe how they grow and divide, which allows them to decide when to transfer them back.

Apparently embryos usually do better inside the body, so their preference is to get them back asap, however the longer they leave them to observe, the easier it is for them to choose the most likely to develop into a foetus as so many stop dividing.

That's why if there's only a couple, they put them back after day 1/2/3 where as if there's more they will let them go to say 5/6 to see which develop into blastocyst as it allows them more time to see which embryos are more likely to be chromosomally normal

I got 3 that made it to day 5, so they transferred one fresh and put 2 in the freezer.
The fresh failed, and on Thursday they will thaw and transfer one of the others.

FingersXssd83 · 08/11/2018 19:21

Yeah @HavelockVetinari I've booked our review meeting 18th Dec already, and if my cycles work out like I think they will then we should be able to start early Jan.

I might email our nurse on Monday OTD just to confirm they can arrange my protocol in time.

Just wondering whether to book additional sperm fragmentation and immunology diagnostics in the meantime.

Hopefully you won't have to do another cycle - good luck! xx

HavelockVetinari · 08/11/2018 19:25

@Guio, as @StillLikeAirIRise says they will aim for a blastocyst transfer (5 days after egg collection) if you get enough decent quality embryos. They'll transfer the best quality blast and freeze the others if they're good enough quality.

On our most recent round we only got 2 blasts, one average to poor quality and the other not good enough to freeze unfortunately. On the flip side DS is the result of a frozen transfer (although it was a top quality blast).

If you don't get lots of embryos they'll do a 3-day transfer since your uterus is the best environment for the embryos.

Vida81 · 08/11/2018 20:15

@FingersXssd83 Really sorry to hear that, hopefully we both have more luck in 2019 xxxx

LillyLeaf · 08/11/2018 20:26

I'm so sorry about the BFNs, it's so crappy. Look after yourselves.

Guio · 08/11/2018 22:00

@StillLikeAirIRise @HavelockVetinari thanks for the explanation. I think I didn't have a lot of knowledge as I thought that the eggs get freeze,no embryos that is the reason why I was getting confused but it makes sense now. What does the thawing process involve?@FingersXssd83 I am sorry about that, take an easy weekend and pumper yourself.

BlueSarah · 09/11/2018 07:01

Heading off for egg collection Confused

LillyLeaf · 09/11/2018 07:26

@BlueSarah good luck. Will you be resting up the rest of the day?

StillLikeAirIRise · 09/11/2018 07:29

Best of luck blue.
Guio I'm currently on a short HRT protocol FET which meant that on day 1 of a bleed I started taking oestrogen tablets x3 a day. On day 12 (yesterday) they scanned me to check that the uterine lining is thick enough and that there isn't a dominant follicle. At the weekend I start the cytlogest pessaries ready for the embryo transfer next week, 5 days before as it's a day 5 embryo. On the morning of transfer they thaw an embryo, apparently it takes 2.5 minutes! And if it survives they call me to confirm transfer that afternoon. If it doesn't (10% don't) as I have 2 in the freezer, they will defrost the next. If neither survive the thaw then the cycle is cancelled.

I think there are a few protocols for frozen transfers like fresh, but this seems to be the shortest and least hassle I've seen. No injections either which has been lovely. Just emotional from the oestrogen really - or the fact that I'm doing IVF again!

Had a vivid dream that I took a pregnancy test and saw it come up positive straight away, i hate waking up from those dreams! Onwards and upwards, best of luck for the day everyone

orangefolly · 09/11/2018 10:17

Oh no I'm really sorry FingersXssd that bloody sucks Flowers

Good luck for EC BlueSarah

StillLikeAir I'm a few days behind you on medicated FET - my scan to check lining is Tuesday. I should be doing the transfer on the 19th (if it all goes according to plan). What day is yours?

twodogsonecatnobaby · 09/11/2018 10:36

Good luck for EC @BlueSarah! I've got my first scan today, should have more info after that x

Trying2bemum · 09/11/2018 11:02

I'm really sorry @FingersXssd83 it's bloody painful. I think we will look at sperm fragmentation if this cycle fails (our third). Our issue seems to be embryo quality so I think we need more information before doing anymore treatment

BlueSarah · 09/11/2018 12:00

Thanks everyone. Back home on the sofa now. They got 16 eggs which is a great start! Find out on Sunday how many are progressing.
Happy Friday to you all xxx

HavelockVetinari · 09/11/2018 12:03

Well it's a BFN for me, I'm bleeding very heavily Sad

New fresh ICSI cycle planned, starting buserelin beginning of Jan.
