Hi ladies!

Round 2 down regulation has just started. Embryo transfer should be 1/2 November. Going for 2 embryos this time.

Anyone else just starting a round? x

Hi@Guio
Pessaries are ok not to worry they might just give u some constipation. Yes I got 3 ivf with nhs (i think) but no extra eggs after EC this time so I'll have to start from scratch if it doesn't work. Good luck w the injections, in no time you'll have your EC! Xx

sarahthewiganer · 03/11/2018 16:51

evening guys, i've been on the coneption thred for two days before i realised there was an infertility thread! LOL.

I had my transfer on Friday so im 1dp5dt. Cani hang out with you? Brew

HavelockVetinari · 03/11/2018 16:57

@sarahthewiganer you can hang out with me! This is my first post on this thread.

I'm having transfer tomorrow at Guys, I already have one DS (15 months) and this is our 1st attempt at making a sibling. Last time we had 1×IVF (BFN), 1×ICSI (BFP, MC @ 7 weeks) and 1×FET (BFP, resulted in DS).

Hi to all on the thread, I wish you all the very best of luck Flowers

sarahthewiganer · 03/11/2018 17:12

@havelockvetinari Ahh good luck! Is it an FET from embryos you had left over? or a fresh cycle?

This is our last embryo, so if this fails we will have to do a paid cycle.

LillyLeaf · 03/11/2018 23:08

I hope everyone is getting on ok. I took a break from MN since my failed baseline scan, I just wanted to forget about all this for a while. Since then there's been 2 Pg announcements at work which have left me feeling pretty crappy. I went to see some fireworks tonight and it just reminded how crap I felt this time last year and nothing has changed. But i will start norethisdrone on Monday for 2 weeks so at least I'm doing something. Sorry about the moaning.

LillyLeaf · 03/11/2018 23:11

@Guio I think I'll be having EC about early December if I get the ok to start stims.

sarahthewiganer · 04/11/2018 07:18

Aww @LillyLeaf that's what gets me too, especially at Christmas I sit there and think "here I am again childless and not even pregnant" it used to be my fave time of year and now I. Ant fully enjoy it knowing I'm not closer to my goal x

HavelockVetinari · 04/11/2018 08:03

@LillyLeaf it's shit, isn't it? Every occasion seems dampened somewhat. On the plus side though you're on the road to EC hopefully, fingers crossed for a decent number of good quality eggs. Have you had EC before? I found it fine the first two times but was in a lot of pain this time round although it passed within 48h. Stock up on paracetamol and a hot water bottle.

@sarahthewiganer it's a fresh cycle, we only got one frostie last time.

LillyLeaf · 04/11/2018 08:25

Thanks @sarahthewiganer & @HavelockVetinari it is hard. Someone at work recently returned after 1 year maternity leave and I remember thinking when she left surely I'll be at least pregnant by the time she returns, nope. This is my first cycle, at my baseline 2 weeks ago they found follicles that we too big on one ovary and my lining was too thick to start stims. I hadn't really thought the baseline could go wrong. Anyway fingers crossed for this time. Anyone taken norethindrone before baseline scan?

HavelockVetinari · 04/11/2018 09:11

@LillyLeaf it's best that they caught that the baseline was off before you started stims, otherwise you'd likely have a failed cycle anyway. I know it's frustrating though when you just want to get on with it.

The colleagues' mat leave thing - yes! I had this happen several times, at one point 5 of my team were pg and people kept looking at my tummy and suggesting it'd be me next. I wanted to punch them!

I took the Pill (norethindrone) for my first cycle, it was protocol for all patients at Kings, not sure why. I then changed clinics to Guys, who don't use it as standard and didn't prescribe it for me. I was on buserelin instead from Day 21, then a combination of Gonal-f and Menopur as stims. I think the Pill is just to make sure your cycle pre-stims is as reliable and predictable as possible to help the clinic plan better.

LillyLeaf · 04/11/2018 09:23

@HavelockVetinari there's another 2 mat leaves coming back around march/April, I'm dreading it if I'm not Pg.

I took Cyclogest before my baseline last time so hopefully norethindrone has a better outcome. I'm in short protocol

Flutterby7 · 04/11/2018 10:17

@lillyLeaf that is rubbish for you. I hope this time round works better and positive things happen for you.
I know what you mean about people being pg around you and then saying oh you will be next. Or when are you having kids? I’m 35 now and so over the last couple of years the amount of comments I’ve had to grit my teeth too... @HavelockVetinari I’ve wanted to do the same!
Good luck and welcome @sarahthewiganer & @ HavelockVetinari

HavelockVetinari · 04/11/2018 11:54

Just had embryo transfer, 1×4CB blastocyst. Not nearly as good as last time (5AA) but the consultant reckons a 1 in 3 chance of success so here's hoping. We've got another blast that's less developed, they're giving it another day to decide whether it's worth freezing.

sarahthewiganer · 04/11/2018 14:58

Good luck @HavelockVetinari .
I really hate the very start of the tww. Or should I say 1ww.
Can't test cause it's too early and I'm so impatient.

orangefolly · 04/11/2018 15:01

Good luck Havelock I hope that embryo settles in well. My consultant was saying there isn't much difference between A and B grade in terms of success rate. It sounds like you still have a good chance.

I am on day 4 of the synarel nasal spray and I am feeling SO DEPRESSED today. It did this to me last time, so I know it's chemical / hormonal, but ugh, it's really hard. Thankfully I have my baseline scan tomorrow, so if it's okay I can start in with the oestrogen and then I'll feel a lot better. I just feel like I can't be bothered to do everything and my self esteem's through the floor. Amazing how much hormones affect your mood!

Lilly hope you feel better soon, at least the starting the drugs again will be progress Flowers

FingersXssd83 · 04/11/2018 16:47

Hi @Vida81, they said two weeks from embryo transfer although I might test on Weds now. Definitely won't leave it to a week tomorrow, it's ages away! Had a very low day today and last night. Thought the TWW would be manageable but I've had my fill!

@Guio the pessaries aren't a problem, the TWW can be quite unnerving though. I'm convinced mine I'll get a BFN. I get one frozen per cycle on the NHS but unfortunately didn't get any frosties. I'm sure the next month will fly by for you. Good luck! Xx

Guio · 04/11/2018 19:32

@LillyLeaf sorry to hear what happened to you.I didn't know that IVF could be stopped before stimulation.Fingers crossed is everything ok now and we can get to ec in early December. Thinking about the IVF protocol I was wondering why after a week of buserelin I will start menopur and carry on with buserelin as well,so I need to inject twice.does anyone know why you need to combine a downregulation injection with the stimulation one?

twodogsonecatnobaby · 04/11/2018 20:05

Hi All
Is it ok if I join your thread? I’m on the short flare cycle, starting buserelin injections in the morning, then both Gonal F and Menopur in the evenings. I’ve gone with access fertility so I’m funded for 2 fresh cycles plus FETs. NHS was taking too long so we went private. This is my first cycle and I’m really nervous. I’ve never injected myself before and I’m worried my egg quality will be low because of my age (39). I’ve got a fridge and cupboard full of drugs and a needle disposal unit on the bench. So much going on inside my head. Short flare cycle means egg collection will be in around 10 days from now.

Fingers crossed for everyone, good luck xx

Flutterby7 · 04/11/2018 20:57

@twodogsonecatnobaby good luck with the start of your injections. I was nervous when I had to start but it’s not that bad when you get used to it.

Trying2bemum · 04/11/2018 22:17

I can relate to the frustration and grief expressed here so much. We've been trying three years and are on our third fresh cycle. It feels like being stuck in the longest shittest Groundhog Day.

Well done on your transfer havelock and fingers crossed for you

Orange yes my god if this isn't hard enough but the hormones just wallop you. The progesterone seems to have kicked in for me today well and truly

Best of luck onecattwodogs - you'll soon get into the swing of it xx

It's transfer day for us tomorrow. We had six embryos on Saturday so will have to wait and see how they're doing tomorrow 🤞🏼

Vida81 · 04/11/2018 22:18

@FingersXssd83 I'm sorry to hear u are low, the waiting it's harder than I thought tbh. I've got a cold on top of it which doesn't help. Planning to have to super busy next 2 days so I don't think about ivf too much... hope it goes quick for you. Take care xx

PlayingPositive · 05/11/2018 09:12

Hi ladies,

I find it quite hard to keep up with the posts sorry. Hope you're all doing ok in your various stages of IVF. Thanks to those who answered about the menopur injections, helped me to feel a little less anxious.

I have my baseline scan tomorrow and I feel super nervous! Unfortunately hubby can't make it with me due to urgent stuff at work this week so I am feeling a little unsettled. I keep on googling about lining thickness and cysts as I'm convinced my lining is not thin enough. I don't bleed much during my period and i didn't with the period I had while on buserelin. I also have odd abdominal pain which makes me wonder if i have an ovarian cyst?? Going a bit mad with worry. After 15 days of buserelin I am feeling tired and depressed. Is that normal? I would've imagined the side effects would have settled after 15 days!

Ladies on 2ww - fingers crossed for you! I don't think ill be at that stage for a while yet. Let's see how the scan goes tomorrow.

So busy at work and yet feel so distracted! Will try to concentrate.

Hope you're all well x

twodogsonecatnobaby · 05/11/2018 09:51

Thanks for the well wishes! It was actually really easy this morning, don't know why I was nervous. Couldn't feel the needle at all.

Good luck today with the transfer @trying2bemum

X

Flutterby7 · 05/11/2018 09:56

@Trying2bemum hope your transfer goes well today.
I have egg collection today. Hoping I have some good eggs in there!

@twodogsonecatnobaby well done!

Trying2bemum · 05/11/2018 12:57

Best of luck @Flutterby7 xx
