September/October IVF

Hey,

I've had my appointment through finally to start my first round of IVF. Our consultation is September and hoping if we start on CD21 (no idea if we will, just what I'm presuming from research) then we will be good to start just after the middle of the month. Anyone else the tentatively waiting for a September start?

Sorry to hear it didn’t work out @botanica. It’s not easy to pick yourself up from devastation but some time is all you need to find that happy place.
I hope you’re able to make the right decision for yourself regarding work. It not easy but I have decided to take a break from work to focus on trying to have a child. Sending you lots of love.

Botanica sorry to hear, you are in my prayers and I hope you find the strength to make the best decision for you.

Sorry to hear that Botanica.I can't imagine what you have been through... regarding work I can't understand how they can be like that.is not our right to be off for medical reasons?if stress is affecting the outcome I would walk off and concentrate on your big dream to be a mum.

@Botanica I'm so sorry to hear about your round, it must take a lot of strength to keep putting yourself through this and I really admire that.
I know you're feeling low but it does sound like you've got some fighting spirit in there!
Maybe you could stay at work until you've made a decision about what to do next and then if you feel it's best to leave just do it. X

@Peanut glad the EC went well and the sedation was ok, feeling quite nervous about that part of it. Fingers crossed for good results the coming days 😊

I was wondering if anyone else is stimulating with gonalf (multidose vial not the pen)? It comes with fixed needle syringes and I’m finding it quite hard to pierce the skin with the needle after drawing up the gonalf and at times it’s been quite painful.
Is anyone else having the same problem?

@beacat I would have the sedation every day of the week 🤣🤣🤣 Don’t worry about that. Just keep the rest of the day free as you might have some discomfort after.

I just got a call from the clinic. 7 of the 8 were mature eggs and 5 fertilised over night 😁😁😁 They’re going to call me back on Friday to see if they transfer them on Friday afternoon or Sunday 🤞🤞🤞 xxx

Yay @peanut1980! That’s amazing. Did you have ivf or ICSI? Fc they all make it to healthy blasts.

Had EC and am still in hospital, 19 eggs, 16 mature. So now waiting game for fertilisation rates

Just had day 9 scan. 5 good size follicles on Left but looks like the Right is out of action, only 2 measuring 7.5 & 8.5 unlikely they will mature. More meds and scan on Friday. EC on Monday.

Hi ladies, just catching up with all your news as I haven’t been in in a week or so - lots of us hitting EC time now! I’m in for EC tomorrow at 8am - 12 follicles came up this time after only 8 on the last cycle, plus lining has made 12mm which is a record for me - it only made 9.3mm last time 😊 some of the follicles might be on the small side so only expecting 5 or 6 eggs but the biggest are a much better size than last cycle so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that that might mean better quality too 🤞
Hope you are all doing ok and managing to stay sane throughout this horrible process xxx

Good luck with EC tomorrow @crittertamer. It certainly sounds promising, sending those little eggs lots of healthy vibes! Did you do anything different? I’ve been trying to eat better since stimulation began.
I’m a little behind you this time, I’m hoping to get the EC next week sometime.

@Dia12 - quite a few changes since the last cycle really - I’ve been on ubiquinol for the past 3 months plus vitamin D spray, spirulina and maca powder daily and r3cently raspberry leaf tea for lining.

I think the biggest differences have come from acupuncture, meditation and daily fertility yoga, plus went part time and changed job role to reduce stress levels. This protocol also included a month on testosterone gel and was a mix of Bemfola and menopur stims rather than just menopur.

Way to go @crittertamer! You’re doing well. My attempts seem really pathetic compared to that ! I’ll try some raspberry leaf tea - keep reading about it on here, so must worthwhile.

I’ve also changed drug protocol as I’m on gonal f and now reading up on this I’ve realised that early stimulation should primarily be with FSH only and LH should be administered closer to ovulation - this is optimum for egg quality and older women respond to this better than when they are stimulated with FSH and LH simultaneously.
Knowing this I wonder why I was given purely menopur in the first cycle .

I’m forever learning something new....

Hi ladies - so it’s 4am and I’ve been awake since 1am with crippling period pain after finishing off my Norethisterone. Dr Google and Nurse Mumsnet tell me I can’t take any painkillers other than paracetamol (which hasn’t touched this pain remotely)

I’m about to be on a short antagonist protocol - will it matter if I take ibuprofen now? I haven’t started any injections yet.

I have had the absolute worst week taking the Norethisterone (still no clue as to why they made me take it as I have the worlds most regular period) so I’m already grouchy as hell without adding in sleep deprived, soaking wet from 4 nights of horrendous night sweats, and now in agony. 😐

Parksandrecreation sorry you are feeling the side effects and I dont know how to manage the side effects on this one, but ibuprofen is an anti inflammatory NSAID and they disrupt ovulation unfortunately

AniSL - thanks. It’s been horrendous, although I know it’s part of the process but omg.
It’s not helped by the fact my clinic isn’t calling me back or emailing me...so I’m feeling very frustrated and unhappy. Thought we were supposed to be calm and relaxed about this stuff in order to help ourselves...but I’m finding it quite difficult and I haven’t even properly started yet.

Insane how many different things they pump us full off to disrupt our natural state. Almost alarming really. Parksandrecreation I hope you get hold of your clinic, it sounds like you need the medical advice from them.
Heard from clinic this morninh, 8 out of 16 fertilized well, 8 are in culture hoping they may be late bloomers.

Hey all, just back from EC here and really happy that we got 12 eggs from all 12 follicles 😊 had 6 from 8 last time so really pleased with this. Unlikely all are mature so just need to wait for the call tomorrow now but we had 100% fertilisation rate last time so 🤞 for a good number.
