September/October IVF

Hey,

I've had my appointment through finally to start my first round of IVF. Our consultation is September and hoping if we start on CD21 (no idea if we will, just what I'm presuming from research) then we will be good to start just after the middle of the month. Anyone else the tentatively waiting for a September start?

Eurgh... I’m feeling pretty peeved off. I feel the clinic should have told us not to have sex. It seems pretty fundamental. I’m now very uncomfortable down below and just had some blood when I wiped 😩😩😩 Luckily I’m back at the clinic tomorrow morning for a scan so I’ll have a word with them then x

I am ok, no discomfort thankfully, flying out Saturday morning and having a weeks holiday whilst we wait for EC

Thanks Peanut1980, we decided a clinic in Greece because we would double it up as a holiday, still worked out cheaper than any UK clinic, had better success rates and better technology

I am more of a reader than a poster. It's so exciting and draining and long winded this miracle opportunity of IVF - juggling work and home life.
Dunno about you guys but I sometimes question everything I do and think will this affect the outcome.... my bike ride, my latte, am I on the right vitamins, should I be drinking from plastic bottles, should I change my cleaning products, should I have a glass of wine???!!!!!
This time IVF4 frozen.... I am attempting to be more chilled, less rushing around, what will be will be whether you have coffee and cake or pumpkin seeds and goji berry juice!

Do what is right for you at that time. Enjoy your opportunities...... take one day at a time.

We cannot control the future and cannot change the past but take what is useful for you......

Positive visualisation and listening to relaxing meditation at bed times is making me feel chilled and sleep well. Try it.... Zita West.

Even if for 5 mins hold your tummy and send your energy there imagining new life creating.

I was at the clinic this morning for another scan and bloods. Upping my stims dose has worked really well. On Monday they told me I’d be looking at the end of next week for egg collection but today they said it might be Monday. I’m just waiting for them to get my blood results and see what the consultant says 🤞🤞🤞

Peanut1980 what did your clinic say about BD and were they concerned about the bleed?

@anisl hmmm...not an overwhelming response to the sex thing. I said I didn’t know we weren’t meant to and she said ‘oh didn’t you?’ Not a great response I know but I do really like the nurse. I told her about the bleed and she said it’s normal. I haven’t had any more since that wipe.

They’ve just called me and said they’re going to do the EC on Tuesday morning 🤞🤞🤞

Wow Peanut1980 good luck, I think mine may be Tuesday, clinic said if evweything looks well on scan tomorrow, trigger shot Saturday evening and then EC Tuesday morning

I’m finishing up my Norethisterone today and it can’t come soon enough.
I have really regular periods anyway, so I’ve no idea why they put me on it!
I’ve been weepy, hungry, loopy, punchy, poopy, sleepy and droopy. Basically ALL the 7 IVF dwarves when I should be Snow White. 😐😐😐
Picked up all my drugs last night after parting with a stack of cash and now I just want to do this damn thing!!!
Anyone else starting injections this week?

Hello, so my period came yesterday and this is going to be my last cycle and last chance of a miracle!I am going to start with the pill in my protocol and I have read that you should abstain of sex the previous cycle but I haven't been told anything and to be honest I don't want to waste my last opportunity before starting IVF.Does anyone know about this?also I am going to USA before starting and I will have to start with the pill there,do i need to make sure I take the pill at the same time so if I start it there I will need to adjust the time when I am back in UK?sorry so many questions but I see that the time is getting closer 😓

Guio re DTD, I think each individual clinic has their own guidelines, mine said no unprotected due to risk of multiple pregnancy, to be honest, its just helped us remain intimate as a couple rather than a couple psychotically trying to get pregnant.

Had a folly scan this morning, they have decided 2 more days of reduced medication to give a number of 16/17s a little push before trigger, so EC moved to Wednesday.

@parksandrecreation that did make me chuckle. It’s good to have some humour through this journey.

I don’t know what’s up with me. Whether it’s the news of the egg collection happening on Tuesday or if the medication is affecting me. I’m struggling with anxiety today. I’ve had a big boo already today and am on the brink of another one. I want to talk to someone but just feel really isolated 😢

Peanut1980 awwww hun is there anyone you can talk to? Its quite limited on here and that's y I suggested a whatsapp support group!

Thanks @anisl I’m usually a happy cheery idiot and don’t like to put my problems on other people. Everyone has so much going on in their lives. The gym would usually help my mood but have had to cut right back on that for the time being. It’s fine. I’ve had a word with myself. I just need to get a grip. In the final stages now. I’ve been so calm about the whole process and don’t want to lose my head now 🙈

Will anyone be starting IVF in mid October and into November? I'm wondering if most of you ladies will be well into your cycle or even finished by then? Might start another thread? I'm expecting my period 18th October if this last natural cycle doesn't work (as if it would). I'll be doing short protocol. I have to start taking Cyclogest (progesterone) cd16. It's feeling very real now. I've been lurking on this thread and it has been helpful to know what you're all going through.

@LillyLeaf I'll be starting around 8th October, short protocol, so should be done before the month is out...it's getting scarily close now.

I should be starting my first ever protocol (short) 12-14 Oct depending on when my bleed starts. I feel weirdly calm the closer it gets. Happy to join a new thread or stay on this one. Hope everyone is managing to keep it together xxx

@lopeylopez depending on when I get my period, I might be around the same schedule as you - also on a short protocol. I’m expecting to start injections at some point this week. Can’t lie - I’m bricking it, but also oddly philosophical about it. Got to take the rough with the smooth I guess!

Hi girls hope you're all doing well. I'm starting my third fresh cycle next month - should be starting stims for short protocol again on the 15th. Hoping to avoid OHSS and hoping to get a fresh transfer and something in the freezer 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Peanut1980 hope you're feeling calmer. Try a walk in a park, camomile tea, Headspace. And talk to a close family member or friend. Keep looking after yourself as well as you can, this journey is so tough xxx
