Anyone else just starting their journey ?

DH is going for his sperm sample to be tested today and hes so nervous and the GP wants me to have some blood tests done and swabs at a later date. So nervous of what to expect and terrified of the possibility of IVF I've heard its so painful ?
We've been trying to have a baby for over 3yrs with 2 chemical pregnancies so far

Had our gynae appointment back in sept. They asked lots of questions about past health and our sex life and then arranged for me to have a laparoscopy with HSG (HOPEFULLY next week).

What was severe about OH SA? Was it the motility? Hope you get some answers soon xx

Hi @squirrelnutkins1 Thankyou for your reply, what is a laparoscopy ? I know a hsg is the dye test isn’t it? I’m assuming that’s the next test I’m going to have. Everything his count is 3million motility was 4% buthe improved it with diet an vitamins to 31% don’t know morph doctor said count to low to read :/. Hoping referral
For ivf/icsi won’t be too long from what I’ve read that’s what we will need. CN I ask what your struggle with infertility has been down to? Find this site really helps me as I have no one to talk to as family don’t know about this. We have been ttc for over 5 years now. X

Hi. Lap is where they go in keyhole to look around and see what's what. I've got a cyst so hopefully they can remove that and if they see endometriosis they can laser that away.
I would imagine lap/HSG/hycosy may be your next step.
Depends on the area. One lovely lady on here has said that in her area the waiting list for ivf is a year ☹️
A few of us are the same here, not spoken about it in real life really so nice to have support here.
I'm assuming the problem is me, OH SA was ok. So we'll see next week all being well. Altho I have a feeling it will get cancelled due to this being the worst time of year in hospitals for beds 😢 but we'll see x

Closer really thought isn’t it. Hope it’s quicker than a year :( it’s taken us nearly a year now just from testing to the gp referring is to gyn/infertility. I’m starting to really struggle with it now aswell where as a year ago I wasn’t really thinking about it as much as I do now it’s a constant thing in my mind all day everyday. I’m sorry to hear about your issues and hope things progress quickly

To another lady on here and I’m sure she had a lap surgery and 5-6months along she is now starting ivf so not that long really x

Hi ladies need some advice on some odd cm, i know this is gross and totally tmi but i had some bloody looking discharge about a wk after my af and thats unusual for me should i be worried? Before anyone asks im due a smear and im goin to get it booked 2morro but ive had loads of (blood free) EWCM since but its way too early for me to be ovulating. Im confused do yous think im maybe just ovulating early? Ive taken a break from charting cause we were told to stop ttc while waiting on my hycosy. ANY advice is appreciated lol

@2fingers22018 hi... I would say if its unusual for you, then it's certainly worth mentioning to the next professional that you see. If it clears up by itself then maybe it's nothing? Have you done some unusual exercise recently... maybe overstretched something inside?

@SpringLake thanks for replying it is unusual but it has cleared up its just EWCM ive got now but i never get it this early very odd..need to get this smear asap

@squirrelnutkins1 when you can, do let us know how it went! we're rooting for you. your only task now is to take care of yourself. some bits will be scary, but don't force anything... i found it was surprisingly easy once i got past the fear! hope you find it all OK!

We have been referred for a fertility appointment at the hospital. My gp informed me that our county doesn't offer any funded treatment at all. However we were given 3 hospitals to choose from for our appointment and one is in a different county.

Has anyone been in this situation? Would we be able to access the funding if we chose that hospital or would it be based on our address.

Hi @kht7989 i can't say for sure, but I've heard of people moving home across the border to access funding. everything depends on local rules, so could be different for you. Fx

@squirrelnutkins1 on the bright side that's really good news... hopefully it will have solved the main problem and give a really good chance of conceiving naturally, and having more comfortable monthlies.!
I am a bit envious!
Mine were adhered like that too... though they didn't tell me until I got a routine copy of the letter to my GP. If I can be a bit tmi (warning!)...
then I suggest really not pushing for your first poo and going easy on yourself. little by little. that step is the worst thing i ever have yet experienced... but when i finally just let it happen it was OK.

I feel like I am believed now which is good. You start to think it's all in your head!

I'm really sore from the lap so I was wondering about 'pushing' so thanks for the heads up!!!!

So i emailed the hospital my new hycosy appointment is 2months away fuckin arseholes..sorry but they cancelled my hycosy not me and im the one left waiting again! Its despicable how they treat women like us😠

Just been to the docs. Got signed off for a week no bother after my lap and HSG. Said I can go back if need to extend it.
Not the best gp I've ever seen, well she was a trainee. Basically told me to be grateful that I have options re fertility and to be grateful that it's not cancer (the c word has never even been mentioned to me 🤔) Ok yes I get that and we're privileged to have the NHS and ivf for free etc but come on.....! Or am I just being over sensitive?!

@squirrelnutkins1 no i dnt think u are i get she was prob tryin to put a positive spin on it, but its not her job to tell u how to feel. I dve prob told her to sod off tbh but that is me being a bitch prob lol but im fed up of trying to be positive. I think we re all allowed our bad days and to feel hacked off that we re in this situation unless shes been through it herself she cant understand really.

How's everyone getting on? I'm due on any day now, first one after my lap so will see how it goes. Not holding my breath for a miracle post lap BFP 😒
