Anyone else just starting their journey ?

DH is going for his sperm sample to be tested today and hes so nervous and the GP wants me to have some blood tests done and swabs at a later date. So nervous of what to expect and terrified of the possibility of IVF I've heard its so painful ?
We've been trying to have a baby for over 3yrs with 2 chemical pregnancies so far

Ouch @squirrelnutkins1 that looks abit sore! it's just so hard not to worry about all these things that are out of our control isn't it.

Amazingly I had a call from the clinic they can see us for the first appointment this Friday - can't believe it! Assuming it's just to fill out forms etc but I'm so grateful they've fitted us in so soon.

@Laura207 that's great you have an appointment, hopefully you'll get a better understanding of how you can proceed.

@squirrelnutkins1 I bruise like that for every blood test it's horrible isn't it.

I've never bruised so badly before! It did hurt a lot this time. Must be horrid for you with so many explorative blood tests!! The worst the boys have to do is their SA and I felt terrible for OH for having to do that 🙈
This thread is def a lifeline and I've made a nice pal on it, you know who you are 😜 I just can't talk about this stuff in real life 😔

I mean if you bruise like that for every blood test, it's horrid 💉

It normally takes them 2-3 goes to get any as I have teeny tiny veins so by the time they have got it I'm black and blue. They end up in my hand half the time! 😱😱

I felt sorry for my OH for his SA, less painful but possibly more traumatic 😂 x

Hiya i'm new to this site. I satrted my ivf injection last thursday and today i have started getting the side affects. Could anyone give me some ideas how to sooth the stomach pains please.

@variousliz welcome. Sorry you're finding it uncomfortable! Are the pains still troubling you? Do they feel like period cramps?

Yes lay out on the sofa with it on my stomach worked lovely. Even made me fall asleep and i think that helped aswell. I seem to be getting the pains every couple of days. I'm ok at the moment though.

I hope you don't mind if I join your thread so late. My husband and I are doing IUI trying to get pregnant. We started trying 18 months ago and have never gotten a BFP. I'm now under the care of a reproductive endocrinologist. We have done test after test and can't find the problem. We are supposed to have our second round of IUI next week. It's so stressful and I'm really down about it. I guess I was just hoping that you lovely ladies might have some wise words about how to get through this.

@Ifeelinclined welcome hun x infertility is a rough ride im no expert but talkin on here helps and try to be open with your partner about all of it easier said than done i know..

Hi guys, sorry not posted for a while.... Been a bit of a roller coaster... Tried to catch-up on the thread as best I could.

so good news is I got engaged... Was a big suprise... And now I'm looking at wedding planning to TRY and destruct my mind from the fertility stuff!! We also have our first appointment with the fertility consultant on 1st November... Not getting excited though as I'm thinking he'll just send DP for more tests! How's everyone?

Good luck for next week Ifeelinclined, we have been trying for 2 years now... Been having tests since march this year... Fed up of tests now!!

Sorry I've not posted in a while guys TTC has brought back my depression so been offline battling that . We're still no further at getting referred to hospital and we've been waiting since June now they've messed my blood tests up and lost my results yet again so having to go for another CD5 and CD21 test doing. My AF is worrying me at the moment as its usually 5 days long and fairly light but the past 2 months its been 3 days long and really heavy i mentioned it to GP and he didn't acknowledge what I'd said but I'm worried its a sign things have gotten worse and maybe my period will stop altogether.
We've looked at going private through a clinic called Create Fertility which offers a natural IVF treatment which they say is more straightforward than normal IVF and they said they can fit us in right away but we need to save the £3K needed for it first

So sorry to hear all of that ☹️ hugs  how is the ivf more natural than normal ivf? Did they explain much? X
