Anyone else just starting their journey ?

DH is going for his sperm sample to be tested today and hes so nervous and the GP wants me to have some blood tests done and swabs at a later date. So nervous of what to expect and terrified of the possibility of IVF I've heard its so painful ?
We've been trying to have a baby for over 3yrs with 2 chemical pregnancies so far

@LillyLeaf well ive got the opposite problem to u lol ive had a +opk but my ff hasnt confirmed it with my temps weird, but surely the opk is more accurate? @TTC73 i was the same when i finally got my 1st +opk ud think it was a pregnancy test with my reaction lol but its such a relief isnt it? X

@thisisouryrfx18 you would think we would be pros at all this. You might have caught the start of the surge, then not ovulated until 36 hours later, then your temp should show the following morning. I think the temps are more accurate as they show you have ovulated, where as opk just show the surge.

@LillyLeaf i know it was last fri i got the+ and its still not showed it on ff..soo frustrating i mentioned to the gynae that i think i might not ovulate every mnth. But she said there would b no point in repeating my bloods odd.

@thisisouryrfx18 that is really frustrating. You might get another surge and then ovulate. Keep testing and temping.

@LillyLeaf i know im trying not to obsess soo much this cycle but its hard when i have to keep taking temps and peein on opks. Do u think i should push for another blood test to check my hormones?

@thisisouryrfx18 I think after this cycle when you have the full picture, and it shows you haven't ovulated then push for more tests. Not ovulating can be fixed so it's strange they wouldn't investigate more.

@LillyLeaf exactly thats whats annoying me surely they should want to investigate if i ovulate regularly rather than going straight to ivf..ive said it on here before im not impressed with the doc i seen in the slightest

@TTC73 there's always a little time between the +opk and ovulation, while the egg matures and releases. I hope all is as it should be!

@thisisouryrfx18 I went over to see a private IVF clinic last night. they start by looking at your file and making some of their own investigations and then recommend a treatment... so we're hoping that there will still be some time between referral and actually starting a cycle. The dr said that they do make recommendations back to the NHS for treatment sometimes too (or can at least help you understand what you can ask for in terms of tests/'fixes').
It was really helpful to go, even though of course it's all sales. The open evenings are for anyone, and they had a q&a session at the end.

Still a 'low' opk this morning, cd15, I usually ovulate by cd15, what's going on. Our last cycle before IVF and my body is playing games.

@LillyLeaf its always the same isnt it? Ur prob stressing and thats whats delaying it, dnt worry i wnt say relax lol we all know its pointless in our situation we re bound to b stressed!

Did another test this morning with FMU and it was a lighter positive than yesterday does that mean i ovulated yesterday not tomorrow cos of clomid ? DTD everyday anyway so we should get a bfp in 2 weeks but so confused
I've also watched a documentary on ivf last night if any of you want to watch it i found it really enlightening as to what goes on during IVF

@TTC73 you might have ovulated today, later today or tomorrow. Do you bbt? I don't know anything about clomid, is there a set day you are meant to ovulate?

I got a positive opk after work so I best get to it tonight. I often don't get a surge build up, I can go from 'low' to 'peak' in one day and can even get to temp increase the next day, it's speedy ovulation

No idea what bbt is and yh i probably have ovulated early then. Hoping all our waiting pays off start the 2ww tomorrow not done one of those in a while !!

@TTC73 bbt is temping. I just watched that documentary you recommend, it was really interesting seeing the embryologists behind the scenes and the head doctor was pretty funny.

I cried when that lady at the end got her BFP and her beautiful baby boy. Hope we all get as lucky as her
How does the temping work ?

You take your temperature every morning at the same time before getting up, when your temp rises it confirmed ovulation. I've attached one of my cycles.

What kind of symtoms do you get when ovualting ? I have loads of egg white stretchy mucus atm which is a good sign and im so constipated and sore no idea if its related to Ovulation or not

So ive just been to the loo and when i wiped there was a tiny little streak of red blood in my cervical mucus i wiped again after and it was just that one teensy streak what could it mean ??? My stomach cramps are so bad i can't sleep

I get ewcm and ovulation pain/cramps. Some people do get ovulation spotting, it sounds like what you have, all good signs I think.

@TTC73 buy a bbt thermometer u can get them off amazon really cheap, do u yous opks?

Are any of you struggling to focus at work? I feel like every waking moment ttc/infertility is in my mind. Even at home or anything I'm doing it's there. It's exhausting.

Im cramping so bad still but the OPKs are still coming up as positives and today is supposed to be ovulation day. DH thinks the blood last night was an implantation bleed if i did indeed ovulate earlier than calculated due to clomid can't wait for the 2ww to be over

I have a normal thermometer in the first aid cabinet will that work ? Its just a bog standard cheap one but works fine. Do i just test my temp under my tongue each morning or when i wake ?
