Anyone else just starting their journey ?

DH is going for his sperm sample to be tested today and hes so nervous and the GP wants me to have some blood tests done and swabs at a later date. So nervous of what to expect and terrified of the possibility of IVF I've heard its so painful ?
We've been trying to have a baby for over 3yrs with 2 chemical pregnancies so far

@LillyLeaf yup thats literally my life every waking min i know ppl will say keep busy etc i do and its still on my mind it is exhausting! I went to sleep for 12hrs last nite i feel sooo emotionally drained by it all @TTC73 i dnt think it would be implantation bleeding hun if ud ovulated earlier ur opk wouldnt have still been positive..did u ask the doc if the opks are still accurate when u take clomid tho? Ive never taken it but maybe the hormones mess with the opks? X

@TTC73 no it needs to b a bbt thermometer theyr more precise x

You can get them on amazon, just like the opks. The bbt thermometer has two decimal places. Do some reading up on how to take the reading. You have to do it after you've been asleep. If you take it from under your tongue you have to wait a few minutes for the reading to settle. Then chart it. Lots of people like the apps. I'm a bit more old fashioned and just use a sheet of graph paper! It's like confirmation of ov after the peak in FSH.

FML. So did an ovulation test this afternoon after a nap which was the closest to fmu im going to get due to sleep deprivation and it was negative meaning the one i posted on Tuesday/Wednesday that was a thick positive was the actual ovulation !! So I ovulate 2 days earlier than predicted maybe due to clomid meaning we've dtd enough times for it to have worked hopefully my stomach is still hurting so bad feels like im about to come on my period even though im not but i haven't had another bleed since the one yesterday that was the tiny bit of blood hoping all this pain and discomfort means we're finally PG or I'll be royally peed off

Following on from yesterday's bbt conv.... I don't know whether to buy a Fahrenheit or Celsius thermometer. What do you guys use? I've read F is more accurate as you can see more of a spike. Do you use one decimal place or two? Sorry if I sound thick 🙈 🤒

A two decimal place Celcius thermometer is best. The day to day variation is enough anyway that a more 'sensitive' thermometer is not helpful... and it'll be easy to use for normal use later on (rather than constantly converting!).
I actually find temping helps me predict when I'm due AF. I always get a drop in T beforehand... it's turned my life around: before I was always worried it'd start up, but now I can say while my T is high, "nope, I've got a few days yet" :)

I use Celsius and a 2 decimals. The rises and falls in temperature are actually small so 2 decimals is more accurate. It is nice to see ovulation confirmed but try not to obsess about the numbers, it's the whole pattern you are looking for.

Im gonna go to GP Monday fed up of the side effects of the clomid now hoping they can do something or advise if its normal

@TTC73 how did your appt go?
I've had two opinions now on my ultrasound... but it's not looking good. Likely back to the only opion of IVF... with essential surgery first :( They're still hurrying to get me signed off... Only two weeks left to my nhs 'deadline'! So we're off to visit IVF clinic number two tomorrow!

GP just checked me over and suggested eating bland foods but this morning i started throwing up and Can't even face eating now if this isn't pregnancy and its just my body playing tricks on me I'll vw so mad

@TTC73 how many dpo are you?

9dpo cant shake this nausea and my sense of smell has gone crazy. It cant be morning sickness already its way to early ??

It does seem too early unless you ovulated earlier than you think?

I'm on 7dpo of my last cycle before starting IVF, I think. I'll be doing a short protocol so maybe I get another cycle to try as I think I start meds in October? Not sure. Hoping for a miracle but not actually hopeful. Although this hasn't stopped my googling everything! I've had no sore boobs this cycle which is strange for me and mild cramps since 4dpo, so obviously I'm googling all that and finding old stories of BFPs. Really need to stop.

DH suggested the nausea might be caused by implantation or that it could have started early says on google it can start at 2 weeks and if i time it from last AF then I'm 3 weeks

@TTC73 yh but if u time it from ovulation ur only 9days id say thats too early for morning sickness

@LillyLeaf im in the tww aswell hun its driving me nuts! Im 12dpo and i stupidly took a test this morning i keep thinkin when i had my chemical pregnancy i got a + at 13dpo..why do we still get our hopes up?! Wish my letter for my hycosy appt would hurry up and come in im soo sick of this constant waiting!!

@LillyLeaf sorry i posted too early meant to ask what does short protocol mean? Im new to the whole ivf terminology x

@thisisouryrfx18 there is a long and short protocol, I think the long is about 6 weeks and the short about 4, I could be wrong, I don't fully understand it. I thought I would be on the long protocol as I thought this is normally what most people started with and short was for those who had issues or who might have a bad reaction to the meds so I'm a bit confused as to why I'm on the short protocol, it might be due to my age, but I didn't think 35 was that old, I don't know, I don't really understand it all. I need to ask the clinic, I do know the meds are cheaper so that's good.

Sorry you are waiting so long for your appointment, do you have any idea how long it takes? No harm in chasing?

@LillyLeaf the waiting list for my hycosy is 3mnths then if i dnt have any blockages cysts etc im moving forward with ivf but the waiting list for that in my area is 12mnths..i know i wouldnt say 35is old but i think fertility wise it begins to drop after 35 x

Never had my temps go up this late in a cycle

@thisisouryrfx18 that looks really good, is that 15dpo? Will you test? I never get past 10/11 dpo so never tested. Got everything crossed for you. I've still got mild cramps at 8dpo.

Would you consider paying private for your HyCoSy? It might speed up the IVF waiting list.
