Hey, all! We are starting ICSI hopefully in June for MFI. I'm 32. Been TTC for around 14 months. Starting treatment privately as we wait for NHS investigations/referrals. Keen to get started but nervous - especially about getting the time off work during treatment - and about how much all of this is going to cost. Trying to prime my body for fertility treatment. Generally eat pretty well and exercise regularly (cardio, strength train, Pilates, walk a lot on my commute)- but could improve my diet. Consultant advised me to increase my protein intake so I'm working on it! Luckily the weather is looking up so a bit easier to stick to healthy lifestyle :) Have cut out alcohol and coffee (still on tea - but will limit myself to one cup/ day). Supplements wise, I'm on Omega 3, CoQ10, Pregnacare. Doubt any of this will make any difference in time for first cycle though...

Would be great to hear from others due to have treatment in June/July 2018!

@cannonball8726 the new refurbed rooms actually look ok. Don’t want to spend a fortune! Planning on arriving and chilling for a bit and eat out depending how I feel and then hopefully after collection go out for lunch and a drink etc! Then just a few wanders and nice food and drink!

LoveYouTilTheEnd · 20/06/2018 14:00

Hi @cannonball8726 do you know where they want you to be in your cycle at baseline scan day? I stopped Norethisterone on Saturday and have my scan Friday but no sign of AF yet! Hoping it’s not going to put us back too much!

Hope all are ok, I’ve been a bit manic busy so only having chance to catch up but not post!

Ginandtonic31 · 20/06/2018 14:25

@Loveyoutiltheend for me it was day 2 of my period. I actually want properly started on baseline day, just a bit of brown, but my lining and bloods were okay to start. That could explain though why I’m a bit behind growing the follicles! And also my cycles naturally are 40-60 days so I might take a while to mature eggs!

NotLateInTheMorning · 20/06/2018 14:50

In clinic waiting for ET... so desperate for a wee😬

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 14:56

ET all done. 2 lovely embies on board 😊 They let me take a nice photo of them but I cant figure out how to get it from my android phone onto my iPad LOL. I’m crap with technology!

Hope everyone else is doing well xxx

Dia12 · 20/06/2018 15:18

Well done @crittertamer. Glad it all went well for you. I didn’t realise they could transfer 2 blasts together. You must be with a private clinic?
I’ve just finishing mine and have one little embie transferred. The other two didn’t make it so none for the freezer unfortunately. Now the 2WW! How the heck am I going to survive that long?!!!

wishing you well for your EC @physicskate and @notlateinthemorning.
Sending everyone sticky vibes for their embies!

Hope everyone else is doing ok with downreg or stimming...hang on in there!!

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 15:24

@Dia12 - yes I’m with a private clinic. I didn’t know the NHS only transferred one? As I had two good quality embies they recommend transferring 2 because I’m 40 and it increases the chance of success. They are allowed by law to transfer 3 at 40+ but my clinic don’t like doing that as it’s very risky if successful implantation occurs.

Glad to hear your transfer went well also - you’re so right about the TWW, it’s gonna be tough!

Dia12 · 20/06/2018 15:29

Oh wow didn’t realise you could have three (!) transferred at 40+. I’m with nhs and all I’ve heard is that they transfer one at the time. But anyhow, seems like getting even one was hard enough. So fingers crossed!!!
Going to treat myself to a Nando’s and watch a box set as DH had to return to work.

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 15:32

@Dia12 - same here! DH working so House of Cards box set here I come 😊 not the Nandos though I’m vegetarian LOL.

physicskate · 20/06/2018 15:48

I nearly wee'd on the doctor. My bladder was way too full!! We had a lovely little blast transferred. I was the only one all alone at my clinic as dh 'couldn't' be there... not telling him how annoyed I am. He was annoyed that his work put egg collection day down as holiday!! So didn't think he should 'push his luck' with today. Wtf?? I had told him beforehand I really wanted him to be there but understood if he couldn't... grr.

Off to acupuncture!!

natz26 · 20/06/2018 15:49

I'm with the NHS and it depends on your age and the quality of the eggs as to wether they transfer 1 or 2 egg.

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 15:51

@Physicskate - glad your transfer went well 😊 my DH also couldn’t get out of work so I was alone too - it sucks. Enjoy the acupuncture - I think I’ve had enough of needles for a while now LOL.

natz26 · 20/06/2018 15:51

How much time is everyone taking off wk for EC and ET?

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 16:05

They recommend you take EC day and the day after, plus ET day as a minimum.

natz26 · 20/06/2018 17:10

Ok thanks

cannonball8726 · 20/06/2018 18:15

Well done on the embryo transfers, ladies! Hope you're getting some serious chilling in.

@LoveYouTilTheEnd my clinic wants me to have baseline scan on D1-3. Not overly enthusiastic about having a scan while on my period Grin hope period arrives soon!

@ginandtonic31 good, glad you have some nice things planned for your couple of days in London. Any news from clinic?

Soooo constipated. Not sure if it's norethisterone or because I had hysteroscopy and scratch yesterday and not sure if it is a result of the sedative meds. Kale, broccoli and broad beans will feature in my dinner this evening!

Beherenow32 · 20/06/2018 18:27

Holy moly, I am struggling! I’m so tired and uncomfortable. Do you think it matters if I don’t bother about healthy eating anymore? I just can’t be bothered cooking nice things!
@cannonball8726 there were some baked beans and scrambled egg in my cooked breakfast earlier 😄 xx

Beherenow32 · 20/06/2018 18:39

And congrats on the transfers! 👍 x

Tigerlily99 · 20/06/2018 19:12

Congrats to everyone who is PUPO! Hope to hear of lots of BFPs soon 😁
@HJ82, yes I start down reg on Sun. Am on the injections but can’t remember where they told me to inject! I think it’s similar location to the stims 🤔 Seems like such a hassle compared to the easy least pre-filled injections for stims though.... Slightly worried if I end up with hot flushes next week during the heatwave! For anyone who’s down regged before, do you remember how soon after you had a bleed?
Starting to feel real now, just a few days more to get through!

Good luck to everyone! X

CritterTamer · 20/06/2018 19:12

The clinic let me take a photo of my 2 embies before they put them back as DH wasn’t there to see them - ive finally figured out how to attach it here if anyone is interested in seeing 😊 it’s pretty cool to see something so tiny in such detail!

Ginandtonic31 · 20/06/2018 19:29

Congrats to everyone with embryos on board! Kinda sad I won’t get to do that for a while!

@cannonball8726 Guys never got in touch with me or replied to my clinic so looks like it is pushed to Monday. Bit annoyed as it suggests they haven’t even looked at my numbers to give a yay or nay so don’t know if leaving it is right! I’m worried the bigger ones will now get too big and I will lose them. But I am having a scan Friday so I guess they can lower my dose. Got to ring my nurse tomorrow so will tell her I’m concerned.

@Beherenow32 my eating is terrible. Just had a fish finger sandwich. I just want to lay and read.

My car has started leaking oil today as well so got to sort out getting for my scan Friday and deal with the cost of that 😫

Beherenow32 · 20/06/2018 19:42

@Ginandtonic31 I love fish finger sandwiches. In my mind, that’s healthy 😂 I had chicken sausages (high in protein) and veg. I had a packet of crisps today, but they were worth it!

That’s no so great on the clinic not phoning you. I was supposed to phone mine, but the nurse phoned me, and let me know I’m goif ahead with ec on Friday.

Am I the only one on fri, yeah? Would have been nice if you were too @Ginandtonic31 but def best to give them some more time!

Just set an alarm on my phone to remind me to trigger lol xx

Charmers1 · 20/06/2018 20:40

@Beherenow32 and @Ginandtonic31 I am eating rubbish too- huge bag of pop chips... demolished during catch up on Love Island! Grin Craving rubbish food! Argh! Nothing wrong with fish fingers..... I really wanted a big fat latte this morning but behaved and walked right past the coffee shop. Argh!!!

@Dia12 I am on NHS and 32 and have had 2 embryos transferred. We only had 2 fertilised and both were only looking of average quality. Both transferred after 3 days. Obviously downside is we have none for freezing if first cycle doesn’t work.

@Crittertamer @physicskate great news on transfer. Now just the 2ww....

Thinking of everyone xxxx

Charmers1 · 20/06/2018 20:41

Ps. Hopefully I got everyone’s timings right! Apologies if not! X

Ginandtonic31 · 20/06/2018 20:52

Jesus Christ just had the biggest stress ever! About 50 mins ago I found an email saying to come in for EC Friday that was sent at 6pm tonight and I wasn’t expecting so missed. It said to trigger at 8.30pm! I had already taken my FSH for tonight! God I was in a state! Managed to finally get hold of an on call nurse who said taking both won’t hurt. Phew. By this time it was 8.25 so quickly got the trigger sorted and in! So now I’m all on edge! I need a hotel and train for tomorrow night, my mind was set on Monday and also I’m now worried they weren’t all mature enough because my nurse wanted me pushing on until Monday 😞so now I don’t feel they’ve been given the best possible chance.
