Hey, all! We are starting ICSI hopefully in June for MFI. I'm 32. Been TTC for around 14 months. Starting treatment privately as we wait for NHS investigations/referrals. Keen to get started but nervous - especially about getting the time off work during treatment - and about how much all of this is going to cost. Trying to prime my body for fertility treatment. Generally eat pretty well and exercise regularly (cardio, strength train, Pilates, walk a lot on my commute)- but could improve my diet. Consultant advised me to increase my protein intake so I'm working on it! Luckily the weather is looking up so a bit easier to stick to healthy lifestyle :) Have cut out alcohol and coffee (still on tea - but will limit myself to one cup/ day). Supplements wise, I'm on Omega 3, CoQ10, Pregnacare. Doubt any of this will make any difference in time for first cycle though...

Would be great to hear from others due to have treatment in June/July 2018!

Good luck to all those with scans and ECs tomorrow. 🤞for all of us!

physicskate · 14/06/2018 16:08

Anyone else feel kinda nauseous day after trigger? Wondering if I should be worried?

CritterTamer · 14/06/2018 16:27

@Physicskate I felt sick as a dog this morning for a few hours. I put it down to the big dose of HCG - it does cause morning sickness after all! It’s eased off now thank goodness 😊

LoveYouTilTheEnd · 14/06/2018 17:57

Good luck to triggerers and egg collectors! Exciting that some on the thread are getting to these stages!

Critter I think we may be similar, I’m also on tablets with first scan next Friday

Beherenow32 · 14/06/2018 18:58

@physicskate the trigger made me STARVING - like CritterTamer says it’s a pregnancy hormone so can cause some symptoms. Later on it made me feel sick and not able to eat certain foods.

Good luck tomorrow everyone!!!!! I feel some pressure in my womb area. Hoping the drugs are working their magic. I’ve found it very difficult to do the injections last few days. It’s painful and my tummy is hard. Happy not many of them left xx

Ginandtonic31 · 14/06/2018 19:11

@behernow32 I’m also finding it tough now. Not so much my tummy is hard or anything just becoming more wimpy and getting more nervous each time. And they’re hurting a bit more

Beherenow32 · 14/06/2018 19:29

@Ginandtonic31 I keep stabbing around my belly until I find a spot that I can tolerate 😞 is your scan early tomorrow? I really hope everything is going well with stimming!

A woman in my work was finishing up for maternity leave, so I struggled a bit today. And getting asked my plans for kids etc 😒😒 xx

Ginandtonic31 · 14/06/2018 19:47

@BeHereNow32 just think not long now. It was such a breeze the first injection! Like little pin cushions we all are! Yes I’m in at 8am so fingers crossed. Tonight I’ve got back ache and every now and then a small twinge in my uterus area so I’m hoping everything is going well. I also realised really I’ve still a fair few days to go! It’s not the be all and end all tomorrow!

Try and come up with an answer that makes you feel better and shuts them up!!

CritterTamer · 14/06/2018 20:14

Beherenow and Ginantonic- sounds positive that you’re feeling things going on in your ovaries now!

I also have someone in work who’s about to go on maternity leave - I jus5 avoid her as much as possible!

Good luck for you4 scan tomorrow Ginandtonic- if the injections are really painful try icing your tummy for a few minutes before injecting - that helped massively for me 😊 I’m so happy not to have to inject tonight after 3 last night lol.

Ginandtonic31 · 14/06/2018 20:21

CritterTamer it isn’t so much that it hurts I’m just becoming more and more anxious about it every day! I think now I’m doing two a day and the morning one leaves me sore I’m scared of going into the site but like I did last night. It stang and bled.

Ginandtonic31 · 14/06/2018 20:34

Sorry the phone rang and I clicked send and then remembered I wanted to say good luck to everyone having EC tomorrow. Exciting! What willwe do afterwards?!

CritterTamer · 14/06/2018 20:34

@Ginandtonic31 - are you injecting into the same site each time? My clinic told me to use the whole width of my belly and to not use the same spot twice. My 2 injections per day were both taken together at night, I didn’t have to do any morning ones - weird how each protocol is different.

NotLateInTheMorning · 14/06/2018 20:45

Beherenow32 - sorry to hear about your day. With injecting I find the right side of my tummy less painful than the left side. I also pinch a roll of fat and jab the needle in (plenty of fat rolls, which helps!)

Cetrotide does sting, I find but pinching the the area I jab seems to lessen this.

I feel nauseous and hungry and the protein shakes taste yukky and I just crave pizza or something comforting.

Hopefully after tomorrow we will all feel a bit better - even if only because it will feel like we are all progressing.

This is my first IVF but we have been TTC for 9 years - just kind of hoped it would happen naturally and dreaded IVF...

Beherenow32 · 14/06/2018 20:49

Thanks for the tips. I do have an ice pack so I could try that. The nurse said its prob swelling and soreness from all the jags that I’ve done so far.

I ate a massive tea tonight, and my stomach feels like it’s going to burst! It tasted good tho (and had protein.... and carbs 🙊).

@NotLateInTheMorning oh that is a long time. It’s a horrible thing to go through, takes over your life sometimes ❤️ Xx

Ginandtonic31 · 14/06/2018 20:50

@CritterTamer no not the same site but the same side in one day to keep it even (alternating sides each day) but the cetrotide rash spreads quite far across my tummy. I also have enough rolls to pinch 😂I find cetrotide better if I let go of the roll once in though.

CritterTamer · 14/06/2018 20:55

I’m in such bad pain at the moment - is this normal after triggering anyone know? My ovaries are so big I can feel them through the skin of my tummy and they are hurting soooo bad now - I’m just stuck in bed can’t really move. Looking forward to my Love Island fix at 9 to take my mind off it, and also to getting rid of these follicles tomorrow!

Beherenow32 · 14/06/2018 20:57

@CritterTamer I didn’t have any pain... Maybe mention to the hospital when there. They will keep an eye out for OHSS which usually happens after ec ☹️ Lots and lots of fluids!!! (I’m a love island fan too 🙃) xx

NotLateInTheMorning · 14/06/2018 21:00

Since I have taken time off work I have been reading up on crystals for fertility (as you do)...rose quartz, jade and moonstone are all meant to help...probably have no impact whatsoever, but you know, every little helps...

fingers crossed for tomorrow, for all xx

CritterTamer · 14/06/2018 21:01

Thanks @Beherenow32 - I don’t think it could be OHSS as there were only 8 follicles yesterday - they’re just all so big! Most were around 20 - 22mm yesterday and they’ve had me take another shot of menopur since then so I guess they’ve grown even more since. Can’t wait to get rid of them now to be honest.

Beherenow32 · 14/06/2018 21:02

@NotLateInTheMorning I actually got a fertility bracelet, but haven’t worn in ages. Maybe I could keep under my pillow 🙂 x

Dia12 · 14/06/2018 22:15

Oh my god, my DH and I went out for a meal just to chill for the evening and I’ve eaten far tooooo much. I definitely have been craving food today, must be the trigger shot or me just being a fatty - not sure which.
I’ve not felt nauseous, just bloated and tired. Looking forward to tomorrow but anxious about the next few crucial steps.

Sorry to hear your jabs are painful @beherenow and @ginandtonic31 I’d def try the icing the area first. Won’t be long before your injections are over with xx

cannonball8726 · 14/06/2018 22:43

Good luck for EC tomorrow, ladies! xxx

TheArtfulScreamer · 15/06/2018 08:01

Good luck to those undergoing egg collection today.

Ginandtonic31 · 15/06/2018 09:02

Scan today after a week of injections and there’s absolutely nothing. Nothing even started to grow 😞

Dia12 · 15/06/2018 09:11

Thanks for the well wishes guys. My EC is around 11am so I’m all set for the hospital visit just trying to distract myself until then.

Good luck @crittertamer and @physicskate will be thinking of you guys too!

Sorry to hear of the slow growth @ginandtonic31, did they increase your dose? The doctors were probably cautious to avoid OHSS. Don’t give up just yet. There is still time for them to respond and grow xx
