Hey, all! We are starting ICSI hopefully in June for MFI. I'm 32. Been TTC for around 14 months. Starting treatment privately as we wait for NHS investigations/referrals. Keen to get started but nervous - especially about getting the time off work during treatment - and about how much all of this is going to cost. Trying to prime my body for fertility treatment. Generally eat pretty well and exercise regularly (cardio, strength train, Pilates, walk a lot on my commute)- but could improve my diet. Consultant advised me to increase my protein intake so I'm working on it! Luckily the weather is looking up so a bit easier to stick to healthy lifestyle :) Have cut out alcohol and coffee (still on tea - but will limit myself to one cup/ day). Supplements wise, I'm on Omega 3, CoQ10, Pregnacare. Doubt any of this will make any difference in time for first cycle though...

Would be great to hear from others due to have treatment in June/July 2018!

Any niggles I had to my left have now gone so feeling absolutely nothing now! I’ve done 5 FSH jabs and started cetrotide this morning. cetrotide wasn’t as bad as I imagined! It did come up red straight away with a slight itch and then a bump but I put some After Bite Xtra around the sides of the puncture which helped the itch and by the time I got to work the redness had completely gone. I’m also feeling much better in myself today with more energy. Still just worried no eggs are growing!

I’m still wondering what centrotide is!! 🙊

@Ginandtonic31 not too long until your scan. I have one on Friday too.

Today I just feel tired and fed up. Lol. Being lazy when I can 😊 I have got 2 weeks booked off work, so don’t need to worry about that xx

Hi all

Just back from 7 day scan - the bad news is that only 8 antral follicles came up this month 😔 was disappointed as my last scan 2 months ago showed 13 but the nurse was not worried and said this is still a good result for my age (40). The great news is that all 8 have responded amazingly well to the stims and are all huge already - no wonder ive been so uncomfortable as they all seem to be between 18 and 22mm after only 7 days. Looks like my EC will be brought forward to Friday morning or maybe Saturday - just waiting on a call from the consultant to confirm.

That’s excellent news @crittertamer! 8 is still a decent number and the fact that they have grown so well is great. Hoping the EC goes well for you

I’ve just been for my scan and I’ve about 5 that are 18-20mm and have my EC booked for Friday. Feel quite uncomfortable too now with a constant pressure in my lower abdomen which feel like a permanently full bladder can’t wait till Friday. I’m already worried I’ll fluff up the trigger - how awful would that be.

I just had 8 follicles too @CritterTamer but a lot smaller... tbh I’m starting to panic. I still have quite a few days until ec. I’m so exhausted too. Not moved off the sofa all afternoon 😴

No need to panic @beherenow, I had little growth by my day 7 scan, they had to increase my dose, but we got there in the end and you will too. When’s your next scan?
Every step is so petrifying, just need to be brave and plough ahead....and keep yourself distracted.
I did want to go out for a walk but feel so tired and uncomfortable that I’m just putting my feet up with a hot water bottle instead.

@Dia12 you’ve also made me feel better as I’ve just done my 6th jab and haven’t felt anything yet. My scan is Friday and I think that they will up me then. But you’ve given me hope there’s still chance mine could grow (I expected to feel pain and cramps now).

Officially got the go ahead to trigger tonight for EC on Friday - looks like you and I are in it together @Dia12, I’m also terrified of messing up the trigger shot LOL.

@Beherenow if you still have several days TIL EC you will be fine don’t worry - I can5 believe how much mine have grown in7 days and yours are already part of the way there 😊

I’m not feeling exhausted but I know what you mean about the discomfort - the nurse today said my ovaries are currently the size of large tangerines rather than their usual walnut size so that would explain a lot!

Don’t worry @ginandtonic31 - i too felt absolutely nothing in the first week, started thinking it was a bit too easy. Anyhow, even now the side effects aren’t too bad. But trust in your medical team, they’ll be keeping a close eye on it and they’ll get your little follies where they need to be. Our work is to keep thinking happy positive thoughts xx

CritterTamer –and Dia12 wow, that is super! you’ll be fine with the trigger shot. I messed up with the timing/injection of centrotide but I watched a couple of youtube videos last night and these really helped because I could see exactly how to do it.

Beherenow32, Ginandtonic31 – I had my 7 day scan this afternoon. 9 follicles between 9-13mm (I’m 37). I had a few twinges the first couple of days of injecting but nothing after that, just real tiredness. Consultant said he thought I was on the right dose of stimms and would scan again on Friday. Been on the sofa with a hot water bottle. Eaten eggs, yoghurt, almonds brazil nuts. Taken annual leave from work for a week and half.
Fingers crossed for the EC’s and scans this Friday xx

@CritterTamer @Dia12 I have collection Friday too!! Trigger at ten past midnight! Ugh I'm so so tired!! Looks like I have at least 25 follies, but about 6 we're above 17mm and several not far behind!! So we shall see how many mature ones there are. Super uncomfortable. They're watching me closely for ohss, but really it's just the pco I hope!!

@NotLateInTheMorning you sound quite similar to me then. I’m forcing a protein shake down and going to go eat some almonds and Brazil nuts too 😁

Beherenow32 - I'm going to have my first protein shake tonight ;) had hoped I could get away with just eating eating high-protein foods but I reckon I need a bit of help...yes, definitely all go ;)

I have to trigger at 12:10. I'm so knackered trying to stay up for this!! And I had to be up this morning at 6:30 to have my scan... it's felt like a LONG day!!

But here's to no injections tomorrow!!!

Gosh, it doesn’t seem that long ago you were all starting and now loads of people are triggering! I am still far far away from starting down reg- 10 days to go... Good luck to everyone still stimming and due for EC soon. X

I had my second cetrotide injection this morning and I had a panic before doing it (even though I did it fine yesterday) then came over all sick afterwards! Think it’s just getting tiresome now. Scan tomorrow morning to find out the little buggers are probably not playing the game 😂

My first scan for checking my lining isn't till the end of next week so plodding along with the tablets that are still giving me sore heads.
