BFP after IVF: any other nervous ladies in need of a handhold?

I've had my BFP after our first FET and in a bit of a state analysing symptoms/lack of symptoms. Had two losses prior to starting IVF so really can't get my head round what might be normal or not. Clinic will scan me at six weeks, but that is two very long weeks away! Anyone else in a similar position? xxx

Sorry that should be ‚see and measure your cervix‘.

becky114 · 03/05/2018 15:02

Thanks guys, I have my scan tomorrow so will ask about my cervix. Also think I'm gonna put the pessaries up the other route lol and see if that makes a difference. Was really worried this morning, scared that baby may no longer have a heartbeat as haven't been sick in 3 days, but then luckily was sick after breakfast and felt nauseous all day - talk about being careful what you wish for lol xxx

TryingToStayRational · 03/05/2018 18:23

Phew. Scan all ok, baby waving it’s arms and jumping about. Measuring 10+4 so all on track Smile

becky114 · 03/05/2018 18:41

Yay such good news @TryingToStayRational xxx

wombats · 03/05/2018 19:27

Brilliant news @Rational! Sure your DH is thrilled too.

@becky, I'm exactly the same, if I haven't got any sickness I worry, and when it comes, I worry something's gone wrong! Feeling absolutely rubbish today, left work early and slept on the sofa for two hours, hope this is my bean having a growth spurt!

Thrilled for such great scan news today. Who's next for scans? @Winnie is 17/5, what about @Melanie and @Daisy? @Dame, I reckon you'll not have another until 20 weeks?

Decafplease · 03/05/2018 20:31

Yeah rational! Great news!
Good luck for your scan tomorrow becky! My clinic seems to check my cervix at each scan, so i thought it was standard? But they definitely should check if you say you are worried about it.
Didnt sleep very well last night - scanxiety- feeling extra nauseous today, so i’m off to bed now.

Bruges21 · 03/05/2018 22:04

Hi everyone, just catching up after super busy day. Great news on your scans decaf and rational, another hurdle crossed for you both. Hope you've been able to relax a bit this evening. I'm having bloods and scan for Panorama on Saturday when should be 9+5 so hoping I follow in your footsteps. Had my booking appointment with midwife yesterday, got my maternity notes which feels very surreal. Just hidden them in a drawer for now as freaking me out a bit!

Becky sorry I don't know too much about how the cervix should feel but I'm sure every woman is different and there must be alot of natural variation. I'm sure your clinic can check it and reassure you.

Sorry to everyone struggling with nausea and tiredness, but yes I agree it's reassuring to feel like as hopefully it's a good sign everything is growing as it should be!

TryingToStayRational · 04/05/2018 10:34

All the best for your scan today @becky114 - thinking of you Smile

Daisy1980a · 04/05/2018 11:51

Lovely to hear such wonderful news on such a beautiful day. Congratulations on your scans Decaf and Rational!
It sounds like a huge amount of changes happen in those two weeks – nervous excitement building for my scan which is a week on Monday when I’ll be 10+5! Having the harmony test done then too but trying not to worry too much about that. Think the sunshine is helping my anxiety.
Becky – thinking of you today, hope scan goes well and the midwife is able to help you re: your cervix
Bruges- Good luck for Saturday. Know what you mean about everything feeling very surreal!
Wombats – how are you feeling today? My nausea seems to hit whenever i'm hungry and is terrible first thing. I have to constantly eat so will be the size of a house soon!

becky114 · 04/05/2018 15:42

Hi guys baby is fine and heart 💓 is going strong. Nurse has advised me to use progesterone in back passage, she cannot fully check my cervix at the scan but tried her best and said she can't see anything that worries her and that they will do more at my 12 week scan. I don't know when this is yet.

Thinking of you becky. Hope all went well. X

Decafplease · 04/05/2018 16:22

Oops forgot to refresh page! Yeah! Great news becky!

TryingToStayRational · 04/05/2018 17:07

Yay, that’s brilliant news @becky114 - so pleased for you! Smile

wombats · 04/05/2018 17:22

Brilliant news, @becky! Fab that all is well with the cervix. Hope the back passage helps with the irritation.

@Bruges, good luck for your scan tomorrow, got everything crossed for you!

@Daisy, thought I was feeling fine but left work early again, slept two hours and woke up nauseous, and now laid up on sofa again. Don't care so long as it means baby is growing fine Smile I have to eat for my nausea too, I'm so bloated I look five months gone already. I have noticed protein helps, plain boiled chicken, cottage cheese, etc.

Becky, Decaf and Rational, that’s wonderful news for all of you!
I finally had my first physiotherapy session yesterday after having three appointments cancelled, in the hope that I can get some relief from my back and hip pain. In a lot more pain today but hopefully that’s a sign it’s working.
Wombats, I will have a scan at 18 w (for no particular reason, I just have a doctor’s appointment then and she always does a scan) and the organ screening and a private scan at 20 weeks (because the hospital won’t give out pictures).
I’m also feeling a little movement, nothing definite enough to be as specifically reassuring but a wobbling feeling when lying down in bed or on the sofa, like there’s a source of movement that’s definitely not coming from me. Not quite enough to be exciting yet but definitely a step in the right direction.

TryingToStayRational · 05/05/2018 07:35

Good luck for today, Bruges!

Oo exciting movement, Dame!

becky114 · 05/05/2018 08:23

Good luck @Bruges21 xxx

wombats · 05/05/2018 08:45

Everything crossed for bruges today!

And dame, movement! So exciting! Hope that joy (and physio) helps a bit with the pain. I've forgotten, are you about 14 weeks now?

OP posts:
wombats · 05/05/2018 08:47

Also, for anyone else doing Cyclogest in the back passage, have you noticed it irritating the area? After so many weeks, I'm starting to feel a bit tender there and noticed some blood when wiping this morning. (Defo came from there and not the front).

OP posts:
becky114 · 05/05/2018 09:03

@wombats I'm guessing that weeks of using it in one area becomes irritant, why don't you swap passages for a bit like me lol xxx

Daisy1980a · 05/05/2018 09:47

Hello ladies,

Congratulations Becky - brilliant news!
Dame – Glad you have physio booked and so exciting that you can feel slight movement already!
Bruges – wishing you lots of luck today
Wombats – I have been doing 3x Cyclogest in the back passage and yes it is definitely irritating me. Haven’t had any bleeding but I find it gives me quite an upset stomach and I am definitely sore.

I had lots of cramping and exhaustion last night but today was the first morning I haven’t thrown up for two weeks. Agggh! Why do I always start to feel negative and panic a little when symptoms subside?

Bruges21 · 05/05/2018 14:59

Scan was all fine thanks everyone, such a relief. Measuring correctly for dates so EDD is 3rd Dec. We got to hear the heartbeat this time which was fab. Panorama results likely to take 2 weeks because won't get sent off now until after the bank holiday, so just going to try to put it to back of my mind for a bit.

Congrats decaf and Becky on your scans. Is anyone waiting on one next week? Dame exciting about the movement. Daisy hope you're not too worried about your symptoms and enjoy a break from sickness if you can!

As for the cyclogest, I alternate between front and back so neither gets too soreBlush.

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather, hoping for a BBQ at some point but I'm so tired I can't get off the sofa at the moment! x

TryingToStayRational · 05/05/2018 17:22

Great news, Bruges! The stress is exhausting so no wonder you’re tired.

Re cyclogest (or the evil bum bullets as I lovingly refer to them) I’ve been using mine rectally 3 x daily for about the last 5 weeks as I was getting a sore undercarriage area from the leaking yucky white stuff when I used them vaginally. Progesterone really upsets my innards whichever way I use it so am thrilled that I only have another 8 days of them - yay! My clinic suggested mixing up the delivery tunnel if it causes issues - they said it absorbs the same whichever way you use it. Maybe try a few days vaginally for some recovery, then perhaps you could try doing the daytime ones rectally and the one at bedtime vaginally, when leakage isn’t such an issue? I found that wasn’t too bad during my experimenting phase. I’ve never experimented with drugs before but this year I’ve really embraced it! 😂

Decafplease · 05/05/2018 20:17

Yeah Bruges! Glad to hear your scan went well!
Went for a 20 minute walk with DH today & was huffing & puffing by the end. Been wating every 15 minutes to control nausea, so really need to start walking at least or i’ll be big as a house.
Re: progesterone, i have a vaginal gel & a suppository for the back both twice daily, so all avenues now sore. But i get to cut back to once a day from next week, can’t wait!
Enjoy the sunshine all! X

wombats · 05/05/2018 22:57

Brilliant scan news bruges! We're still the same dates Smile Were you able to enjoy a bit of sun today?

Rational, nothing like pregnancy to encourage a bit of drug experimentation 😂😂 DH and I joked what would happen if the neighbours saw him shooting me up whilst we were stimming!

Decaf, fab that you'll get to cut down the bullets. I've been massively short of breath, too. Just walking up to the loo at home has me puffing. Managed a walk with DH today and seemed worse than usual with heat and hay fever.

I'm another one eating to keep nausea at bay, trying not to worry too much about weight but quite concerned about gestational diabetes. I was told I'd have a screen due to age and been eating almost nothing but plain carbs when nausea is at its worst Confused
