First cycle of ivf, they transferred x2 embryos yesterday so the countdown begins....

DH is trying to be helpful but driving me slightly insane fussing, I'm feeling ok and trying not to panic about every slight twinge

Testing on the 16th, anyone else around the same time?

I have a 4am BFP here! Was worried it wouldn't be a long enough hold, and too dilute (and I normally sleep through...whyyyyyy tonight?!) And convinced I wouldn't see anything, but hurrah! Obviously early days - I was in this position in September - but a step in the right direction Smile This must be a lucky thread!

Rememberallball · 14/11/2017 06:40

Good morning ladies. I am 5dp5dt today; DH and I went to Cyprus for a fresh DE cycle but the donor matured quicker than they planned which meant the embryos were d5 too early in my cycle so they froze them for 4 days. We got 12 fertilised eggs using icsi, of them they had 6 grade 1 excellent embryos and 2 grade 1 good as well as 4 others that were ‘slow’. Then, at 5 days they had 4 grade 1 excellent blastocysts which froze and, on defrosting, we had 3 embryos which were all transferred. My blood test date is 21st but I am doing daily ic with fmu as I’ve read of people getting bfp from 5dpt - nothing to see yet though!!

Star198 · 14/11/2017 07:02

Incoganito omg yaaaaaay this is the best news ever!!! So happy for you. Ive started getting up in the night very annoying haha but a good sign!!! Congratulations heres to a sticky one!

Hi remember. Sounds so promising and 3 such good grade embryos transferred is amazing !!! My first faint positive was 6dp5dt so fingers crossed in the next few days :)

willma86 · 14/11/2017 08:48

Incoganito that’s fantastic news!!! Congratulations.

I’m driving myself mad with symptom spotting and just don’t feel any different to other months. I’m just praying it’s too early for symptoms now anyway as i’m only 3dp5dt...??

LondonGirl80 · 14/11/2017 11:25

Oh incoganito! That’s wonderful! So so pleased for you! Crossing everything for a sticky one!

I think I’ll hold out til my OTD (Thurs 16). That’ll be 12dp5dt.

I’m on a long booked winter sun holiday til Sat, & I know a bfn will put a dampener on things. We have lots of friends here, & it’s obvious that I’m not drinking. So lots of people know. We’ve been super open about it all with friends & family - why not, eh? Surrounded with love & best wishes has to be good positive vibes. So I’m going to stay hopeful for two more days & not stress.

Completely understand others doing differently, of course. There are no right ways on this stuff. Hugs all round x

Rememberallball · 14/11/2017 11:38

Stupid question time.......

What is ODT? I know so many of the acronyms but not that one!!

Incoganito · 14/11/2017 11:58

Remember OTD = Official Test Date. When your clinic tell you to test Smile - usually a loooong two weeks after transfer! Three embryos, crikey - are you prepared if they all stick?! I don't know if you'd get a result on ics at 5dpt but get yourself a FRER and I think you'd probably be in business...but then I'm impatient and a bad testing influence Grin

Thanks for all your congratulations ladies!

willma - easier said than done, obviously, but try not to symptom spot. I have felt exactly the same on my failed cycles as I have on the successful one(s?)...

London - completely understand, hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday! A bit of winter sun sounds wonderful, make the most of it x

Rememberallball · 14/11/2017 12:33

Thanks, incoganito - just knew it would be something simple!! My clinic in Cyprus said 12 days so that’s a week today!! I’ve got a FRER in the drawer but I was saving that for nearer the 21st - had better get myself off to the chemists - any recommendations for where I can get reasonable priced FRER??

What will we do if all 3 stick?? I don’t know other than probably start looking for somewhere new to live (we live with my Mum - to help her out - and have my 18 year old nephew staying here too!!) and, once we’re over the shock, get really excited!! I’m not sure of the likelihood of all 3 sticking and the consultant said he’d be in trouble if they did!!

Incoganito · 14/11/2017 12:49

Remember I'm not sure, I know you can't get them in supermarkets... Maybe boots/superdrug? I got mine from Amazon x

Rememberallball · 14/11/2017 14:55

Thanks incoganito, I will look on Amazon and thought eBay might be worth a look too!!

sooperdooper · 14/11/2017 17:07

Incoganito YAY that's brilliant news :) :)

I'm going to stuck it out until 16th, London we're on the same OTD, fingers crossed

Rememberallball · 14/11/2017 17:38

For those interested, I’ve found 2 double packs of FRER for £15:49 on Amazon!!

LondonGirl80 · 14/11/2017 18:51

You stick it out, sooper!

I bowed to pressure this pm and got a BFN. Gah.

Trying not to be despondent. No AF yet, best mate got a load of negatives with her IVF baby. Will test again tomorrow and Thurs before giving up.

willma86 · 14/11/2017 20:14

Don’t lose hope LondonGirl. And enjoy that lovely sun!!

I had a real wobble this evening at the prospect of never getting there. I can’t remember what normal feels like ...

Ging78 · 14/11/2017 21:37

Hi ladies

Hope you're all good.

Incoganito amazing news!!!!! Huge congratulations.

Thanks also for your encouraging words and yours star they really helped and I needed to hear them. Much appreciated.

Star actually it was a bereavement for the guy we had hired for our kitchen not ourated thankfully. I do know things could be worse.

Londongirl still have my fingers crossed for you.

Sooperdooper the 16th is coming close.

Rememberall 3 would be amazing. A proper little handful.

Willma I 100% hear you on the fear of never getting there. It makes me so scared. Fingers crossed for all of us.

Trying to stay busy and not symptom spot. Not managing to stay away from Google.

Xx

Ging78 · 14/11/2017 21:53

One of my friends had her test after her fet yesterday. She tested negative. Am heartbroken for her and it's making me nervous for Sunday too.

Rememberallball · 14/11/2017 22:49

ging friends of ours had ET around 6 weeks ago; their 9th cycle of Ivf - the husband has structural defects meaning he always has to have surgical sperm extraction - anyway, they got only their 2nd bfp but, over 2 weeks (6/8 weeks gestation), and 4 scans, they never got a heartbeat so, yesterday, she had to have STOP - their consultant feels there was probably a chromosome disorder of some sort!! Really feel for them!!

moominsareace · 15/11/2017 14:02

Just wanted to say a huge congratulations to those of you that have got those little blue lines of positivity - I remember mine (after 8 years of trying), and it's an amazing feeling.

And sending hugs, hope and positive vibes for those still on the dreaded 2ww.

Star198 · 15/11/2017 19:26

Thank you Moom i still feel in shock and do one every day to check its still there! Hope it carries on now :)

Ging i hope youre ok and in the nicest way im glad the bereavement wasn't yours. Fingers crossed everything's now turning in your favour and your bfp is just around the corner! Google is awful i cant ever step away from it 🙈 just a few days now for test day.

Ging, london girl, sooper, willma and remember your test dates arent long at all now and im and for your bfps!!!!

Londongirl did you test again today? You may not have tested on a long enough hold yesterday. My friend did the same then tested the next morning and bam there it was!

Incoganito · 16/11/2017 06:54

London, hang in there - as Star says, there could be any number of reasons why you might have got a BFN but still have a BFP around the corner!

Tested again this morning with my second FRER and super-chuffed to see a darker test line Grin Going to book in for bloods on Monday and then hopefully relax a bit more... Have resisted the urge to order further FRERs off Amazon (good bargain-hunting btw, Remember!) but may still order some digitals with the no. of weeks on them so I can see the HCG progression... Wow, I have turned into a proper IVF dick Blush

I have met ladies along the way who only got their BFP/sticky take-home baby after as many as 10 cycles... I know it sounds a bit lame but I found it really helpful to view IVF as a course of treatment (for want of a better word) - I know lots of ladies get lucky first time, but often that's not the case. It took us two fresh cycles and we went through four embryos to get my first BFP, which luckily went on to become my little boy. Another fresh cycle and another two transfers to get to this point. It's not the easiest thing to go through but it does have the ultimate prize if you can stick it out!

Sending lots of positive vibes out to you ladies yet to test!

LondonGirl80 · 16/11/2017 08:51

Thanks ladies. Still BFN today, which is OTD. Oh well. Done. Will go back to bed then call the clinic later.

sooperdooper · 16/11/2017 10:25

BFN here too, gutted :( will wait for the call from the hospital later to see what next steps they suggest, we get one more round so I guess we'll start that in January :(

I'm so sorry, London and sooper Flowers Look after yourselves, it's a shitty time WineCakeGin

LondonGirl80 · 16/11/2017 12:17

Oh sooper, I am so sorry. Was hoping that we’d both get BPFs on the same day. I am so glad you’ve still got options though. Big hugs. Join me in a glass of wine and a slice of gooey Brie this evening? Xx

Ging78 · 16/11/2017 14:21

I'm so sorry sooperdooper and Londongirl. I know how heartbreaking it is and I'm thinking of you both now xx
