3rd or more time lucky - IVF cycle buddies October

Hobbes39 · 13/09/2017 16:15

Hi Just wondering of there are folks on here who are about to go through their 3rd + time of IVF who want a cycle buddy? I dont mean it badly towards anyone who is starting their IVF journey for the first time, (i was there just this time last year after all) but I feel a bit like I cant be as optomistic about it as I was, so dont want to drag any first timers down? Hope that makes sense!
Anyway, just to explain about me:
TTC #2 for over 2.5 years now
Unexplained Secondary Infertility (have 4 year old DS)
Age 40.5 Shock
AMH: 15.4
2 failed fresh and 1 falied FET (with single frozen 3BB embryo we got from 2nd fresh round)
about to start 3rd fresh round when my period starts in approx 7-10 days, so will probably be late october EC.
anyone else a bit jaded, but still vaguely hopeful want to join me?
xx

Good news it's all on plan @Hobbes39 with the bleed starting etc. I am counting down the days till I can start again - 6 weeks 5 days till I start downregging (if bleeds occur on the right days).
Very sorry to hear of your polyp @lulahbelle what an absolute pain. Hope it effs off very soon.
My weight loss isn't going very well anymore - big pasta dinner and no runs since Tuesday. Need to get back on it but CD1 or 2 (depending on if you count CD1 as first day red blood before 12pm?) and feeling very period painy and heavy. Maybe will try and run tomorrow...

Coco24 · 15/10/2017 20:23

Hello everyone, hope all are well.

lulah sorry to hear about your polyp that is so frustrating, i really hope it goes quickly so you can get back on track.

hobbes great news that your on plan to start down regging next week.
I'm so grateful for everyones company too so thank you for starting this thread, its lovely to have everyones support.

gee not long till you can get going again, hopefully everything happens on the right days so theres no delays! I think you have done really well with your weight loss and running so far, your entitled to some off days and time off!

decaf hope your holding up ok xx

Back from my holiday now, had a lovely time, not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow! Bleeding has stopped again, much like last time came and went so who knows whats going on.

Hello to everyone else wanda, weedance, bjones

geeup · 15/10/2017 21:23

Likewise really grateful for everyone’s support so thank you hobbes for setting up this thread.

Good luck today coco!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

bjonesreborn · 16/10/2017 08:16

Good luck coco

Decafplease · 16/10/2017 10:57

Hi All,
Been offline most of the week, mostly to stay away from fruitless google searches.
lulah how frustrating about the polyp! Hope its gone on your next scan.
hobbes you must be glad to finally move on to the next step.
gee losing any weight when going through the physical and emotional crap that is ivf cycling is amazing!
coco good luck! I hope you see a lovely heartbeat.
As for me, this week has been rough. Emotionally all over the place, symptom spotting worse than in 2ww. Unfortunately DH has taken it really hard too. I think he really thought we finally had our miracle, and to have it snatched back has really brought him down. Also, he doesnt have the support of a lovely group like this. I think it really makes a difference!
We scan again on Wednesday, at least then we will be out of this limbo.

lulahbelle · 16/10/2017 11:53

Hi decaf, didn’t want to read and run. Am not surprised you and DH have found the last few days tough - more than anything, I think it’s the not knowing and wobbling between hope and pessimism all the time. I wish there was something we could do to make it easier. Hang on in there - and tell your DH to come join us Smile

Coco24 · 16/10/2017 13:12

Thank you everyone, our scan went very well, measuring on target and saw a lovely strong heartbeat, got some nice pictures too. Feeling very lucky and relieved to get to this stage and just keeping everything crossed!
Was a shaking teary mess by the time i got on the bed for my scan i'm suprised she could do it i was moving so much!
Going back on 6th Nov for another scan when i will be 10+4 as i am still so nervous i cant wait till the 12 weeks one and they kindly agreed to have me back.

decaf i am just so sorry you are going through this and not suprised you are both finding it so hard, i hope weds comes quickly so that you have some answers. We are all thinking of you xxx

geeup · 16/10/2017 13:32

What a relief @Coco24 great to hear that bleeding isn't always bad news. So pleased for you.
And thinking of you @Decafplease it must be so so hard. Your poor DH - as you say they often have no one to talk to or to allay their fears. I do hope your little one is just a slow starter and there's good news for you on the horizon.

Decafplease · 16/10/2017 14:05

coco so happy for you! That’s fantastic!

Decafplease · 16/10/2017 14:08

And thanks everyone, lulah, coco, geeup for your support. X

Hobbes39 · 16/10/2017 14:53

Oh Coco that’s fantastic news, I’m so so pleased for you! And brilliant they can have you back for the in between scan as it will all help - fingers crossed all progresses v uneventfully for you from now on!
Decaf - I can only imagine how slowly these last few days have gone for you, I hope that Wednesday hurries up and that as others have said that your wee one was just a late implanter, so this time you will get some good news. Will be thinking of you xxx

coco that’s amazing news. So so pleased for you
decaf hope you are hanging in there, everything crossed for you for wed.
AFM finally took the plunge and phoned the Clinic this week to set the ball rolling. They said it would be about 6 weeks wait for initial appt which actually suits me as then means fresh cycle will start after Xmas. The old clinic I used wanted £50 to send my notes on to the new one....was shocked! Anyway luckily a treatment summary will suffice. So i’ll Be ages behind all of you lovely ladies but if ok will keep checking in on here to see how you all are doing. Quick question where do you get your CoQ10 from and what dosage do you take? I seem to be reading conflicting advice. And also when to start baby aspirin and what dose

geeup · 16/10/2017 19:00

Hi @bjonesreborn I take 200mg solgar ubiquinol per day (although keep forgetting!) and 1 x 75microgram baby aspirin once a day after ovulation till period. Apparently it's better to take an hour before or after any other vitamins.

geeup · 16/10/2017 19:01

Ps I had to order the solgar from the states last order as no availability in U.K. Shock so was very expensive. Would be open to another supplier if they were same quality.

lulahbelle · 16/10/2017 19:04

Yay coco - that’s such great news and am so pleased for you! Keep us updated on how you’re getting on!

Congrats on getting the ball rolling bjones - even though you won’t be starting your cycle till after Christmas, I hope you’ll hang around. If this FET doesn’t work, I’ll be aiming to do another fresh cycle in the New Year so we may yet be cycle buddies. £50 to send your notes is ridiculous - glad you found a way around it. I get my COQ10 from Amazon (I get it in the ubiquinol form) and I take 200mg once a day.

Had my second scan today and whatever they saw on Thursday is no longer there so we’re good to go this cycle - am so relieved. Lining is over 7mm already and I have a dominant 13mm follicle so have another scan on Thursday when I should get the go-ahead to trigger with the transfer a week later.

Hope everyone else is OK.

geeup · 16/10/2017 21:26

Great news @lulahbelle !

Hobbes39 · 16/10/2017 23:02

Lulah - that’s great news! Sounds like it will all happen really quickly now 🤞 - exciting Smile.
Bjones - as far as my CoQ10 - mine is from amazon and I’m not entirely sure it is ubiquinol or not - it’s Nu U Nutrition and the no1 bestseller on there, they don’t say which type of coQ10 it is on there, but did answer a question on amazon saying it was ubiquinol, but I’m slightly sceptical... anyway, I take 1 a day at bedtime at the same time as my pregnacare vitamins as I found taking them made me queasy sometimes (the pregnacare) so I just take them before I go to sleep! I figure regardless of which type it is it will be doing something....or at least no harm!
X

Hello everyone. Have been trying to focus on positive things lately and not get so annoyed about having to wait till the new year to try again. So it’s a balance between not being on this board, and wanting to know how you’re all getting on!

Coco what great news at your scan. You must have been over the moon to see everything developing well. You probably still won’t feel able to relax completely but I hope now the worrying will be less for you.

Decaf, sorry you’re going through it. I am thinking of you.

Everyone else - I usually buy vitamins and things like that from Victoria Health - I bet they have ubiquinol. Will have a look.

I am trying to focus on being as healthy as I can in prep for next year. No drinking, eating well, getting enough sleep. I am no believer in things like “think positive and positive things will happen” but I find myself thinking that if I just do everything “right” then perhaps if it fails again, I will find it easier to accept as “just bad luck”.

Coco24 · 17/10/2017 22:09

Thank you everyone, your support has really helped me through. Still very nervous so just taking it one day at a time.

lulah great news that whatever was there has gone and you can get things moving, fingers crossed for you!

decaf i hope your scan goes ok tomorrow, i will be thinking of you Flowers

Hope everyone else is well hobbes, geeup, wanda, bjones xx

Decafplease · 18/10/2017 09:43

Hi,
We had the news i was dreading. The embryo has not grown enough, still at 6w 3d and no heartbeat. I am waiting now for the nurse to discuss end options. It was so hard to see that little bean, only to loose it.

Hobbes39 · 18/10/2017 09:49

😢 oh decaf I’m so so sorry... I know there’s nothing I can say, but thinking of you and here if you need to vent. It’s so cruel. Flowers xx Hope you have time to be able to just let yourselves grieve, hugs to you xxx

decaf, I’m so sorry - it’s absolutely heartbreaking and so cruel. The same happened to me last cycle so if you have any questions or want to talk, feel free to PM me. Most of all, as hobbes said, make sure you and your DH take the time to grieve. Big hugs to you xx Flowers
