3rd or more time lucky - IVF cycle buddies October

Hi Just wondering of there are folks on here who are about to go through their 3rd + time of IVF who want a cycle buddy? I dont mean it badly towards anyone who is starting their IVF journey for the first time, (i was there just this time last year after all) but I feel a bit like I cant be as optomistic about it as I was, so dont want to drag any first timers down? Hope that makes sense!
Anyway, just to explain about me:
TTC #2 for over 2.5 years now
Unexplained Secondary Infertility (have 4 year old DS)
Age 40.5 Shock
AMH: 15.4
2 failed fresh and 1 falied FET (with single frozen 3BB embryo we got from 2nd fresh round)
about to start 3rd fresh round when my period starts in approx 7-10 days, so will probably be late october EC.
anyone else a bit jaded, but still vaguely hopeful want to join me?
xx

Thanks lovely ladies they found a follicle or cyst growing inside me so they couldn't carry on with the treatment so have to wait for another two three weeks I think to find out if it's gone we fly out just before Christmas for the 4th cycle last attempt keep saying it but it will our last attempt then x

bjonesreborn · 17/11/2017 16:55

Fingers crossed for you coolchick
Afm, went for my amh blood test and assessment scan today - forgotten how really un-glamorous this whole process is. She said everything looks normal and amh results will be back in time for our initial consultation on the 8th Dec.
Had a complete meltdown on the way home as to how on earth I am going to go through this process whilst working and whether I could actually do it. Hope everyone is ok

Decafplease · 17/11/2017 18:19

Sorry to hear your cycle was delayed coolchick. It takes a lot to build yourself up to a cycle, so i understand how upsetting it is to delay!
bjones one step at a time is all i can focus on, or i get overwhelmed too!
Hope everyone else is doing ok?
AFM, still spotting after my ERPC, so i’m glad we decided to wait till jan for our next cycle. Knowing we dont have any ivf schedule for next 6 weeks means that at least i am not stresing about getting my period back on track.

Hobbes39 · 17/11/2017 18:40

Coolchick - sorry to hear about your cyst causing delay - fingers crossed t goes away ASAP x
Bjones - hugs to you - it’s all so emotionally draining and I found the logistics hard too. Somehow you’ll manage...things won’t be ideal, but you can do it xx
Decaf - hope the spotting clears up soon and you an take your mind off things and enjoy the break from it all so you can start refreshed mentally as well as physically.
Gee & Lulah - how you getting on? Xx

Hi all, hope everyone’s well.
So sorry again about your cycle coolchick - hope everything settles down and you can go ahead next cycle.
Good news on having your AMH test and scan bjones - not too much longer till your consultation! Totally understand the stress about managing cycling with work, but I’m sure you can make it work. It’s ok to have the odd meltdown too - better than bottling things up.
Glad you’re doing ok decaf - I spotted on and off for a while after my ERPC and it took about 5-6 weeks before I got my period again if that reassures you at all. Definitely enjoy having some down time to relax before starting up again.
How are things going hobbes - do you have a scan booked in yet?
We had our consultation with the new clinic on Weds which was positive - as I expected, they’ve suggested I have the immunes testing. I’m still a bit unsure about it all, but am at the stage of being ready to throw everything at it, so am going to ahead. It doesn’t sound like I’ll be able to cycle before Feb though and we have a holiday booked in mid-Feb so I think it’ll end up being March which is frustrating, but I guess a month really isn’t that long in the grand scheme of things!

Decafplease · 19/11/2017 18:05

Thanks lulah. The doctor said the same, but helps to hear from someone who has been through it.
Hope everyone is doing ok?

Hobbes39 · 19/11/2017 19:05

Hi Lulah - good to hear you are cracking on. I am unsure too about immunes, but I also think there must be something in it for some people, and I hope that it helps for you x
I’m due a scan a week tomorrow, to check it’s in the right place. I’ve been told not to expect to see a heartbeat then as I will be just 6 weeks, it’s literally just to check it’s not ectopic. I’m feeling all sorts of nervous as she had some red blood yesterday on my progesterone applicator and so no feeling confident at the moment, but I’m hoping it was just irritation as have had any more so far. I think I’m just so used to it all going wrong now, that any sign it might do I assume the worst. I sound so ungrateful, I am obv delighted to have got this far, but this process makes it hard to relax and enjoy it! Xx

hobbes after all these cycles, its totally understandable that you are finding it difficult to enjoy being pregnant. I think all of us on this board would be the same! Hope you have an uneventful week till your scan.

geeup · 21/11/2017 06:44

Yes good luck with the wait @Hobbes39
No news from me - just enjoying my hop with DH until I get back then I have the scratch and start buserlin again...

geeup · 22/11/2017 08:51

How are you doing @Hobbes39 - any more blood or feeling ok? Been thinking of you!

Hobbes39 · 22/11/2017 10:17

Thanks Decaf & Gee - I'm honestly a reasonably calm and pragmatic person usually, but that's all gone out the window now!
I've been up and down this week- was doing ok but then I've stupidly been temping still throughout and my temps fairly dramatically dropped since Sunday and dr google says that's not a good sign... however, my HCG is still doubling ok as CB digi weeks have gone up fine. SO.... I basically decided to stop temping yesterday, as it's just making me worry and there's nothing I can do about it anyway. I thought the TWW was long, but this week is longer! So no more bleeding, I still have tender boobs, and some cramping - and felt a bit queasy briefly on Monday (but might have been in my head) so I'm hoping all is ok, but keeping prepared for bad news on Monday in case...
how are you guys doing? Xx

hobbes just checking in to say hope everything goes well tomorrow - everything crossed for you.
Hope everyone else is ok

geeup · 26/11/2017 21:26

Me too - thinking of you and hoping it's good news x

lulahbelle · 26/11/2017 21:53

Good luck for tomorrow hobbes - will be thinking of you!
Hope everyone else is well - your consultation is coming up soon isn’t it bjones?

Hobbes39 · 27/11/2017 12:59

Thank you so much bjones, Gee & Lulah - really was touched you were thinking of me. X
I was a nervous wreck for the scan - but good news is there is an embryo (or whatever it's called at the moment?!) is the right place measuring the right size Smile. I actually can't quite believe it! There is however something (they really don't know what, possible just a cyst) on m right ovary that they want to keep an eye on just in case it's the other one in the wrong place Confused. First doc got the senior consultant to come check it too...and neither are sure, but I have to go back on Friday for another scan to check it's not got bigger, and to check the one in the right place has a heartbeat - the senior consultant though he saw a flicker of heartbeat... but it wasn't clear to me! Anyway, am feeling relieved but still nervous too. I hope it's just them being extra careful and is nothing to worry about. They also said I had a bit of OHSS as fluid around ovaries, so the thing they can see could just be a pocket of fluid?! Hope you guys are all ok & thanks so much for the support! Xx

lulahbelle · 27/11/2017 13:16

That’s great news hobbes - so pleased and relieved for you and fingers crossed what they saw is just a cyst or fluid. I knew it was possible to have an ectopic after IVF, but hadn’t realised an embryo could potentially make it all the way up to your ovary. Know you won’t have relaxed completely, but hope the scan has made you feel a bit better. Will be thinking of you on Friday xx

geeup · 27/11/2017 13:25

Fab news @Hobbes39 really pleased they're happy with size and place!! Fingers crossed it keeps being good news. Well done you!

bjonesreborn · 27/11/2017 13:31

Great news indeed hobbes may the good news continue for you. Fingers crossed for Friday xx

Decafplease · 29/11/2017 20:18

Good news Hobbes! Hope it continues well! X

geeup · 30/11/2017 20:57

Well I'm back on the hamster wheel. Scratch done and first buserlin injection done. Very glad to be back cycling again as feel one day closer to being pregnant. As feeling so impatient but trying to focus on mini milestones - Christmas, new year etc.
Hope you're feeling well @Hobbes39 - good luck for tomorrow. Let us know how you get on!

lulahbelle · 30/11/2017 21:38

Yay - that’s great news gee! Hope the scratch wasn’t too uncomfortable. Let us know how you get on - have my fingers crossed for you x

geeup · 30/11/2017 21:39

Thanks @lulahbelle - god I hope it's third time lucky for me!!

bjonesreborn · 30/11/2017 23:34

Hope all goes well tomorrow hobbes x

bjonesreborn · 01/12/2017 08:05

that's great you're on the journey again gee - well none of us want to be here but hope you know what I mean. Everything crossed its your 3rd time lucky. Hope you don't mind me asking a couple of questions _ was the scratch painful? And also at Nuffield woking do they always do EC under general? I will be starting my 2nd cycle there after Christmas (having not been there before)

geeup · 01/12/2017 08:13

The scratch was painful for literally only for 2-3 seconds (that's as long as the procedure takes) so it's over very quickly. Then it felt like period pain for a few hours (maybe 2-3 hours) but not bad - just achy.
I've had egg collection twice and both times had general anaesthetic so i presume they always put you under.
