Hi Just wondering of there are folks on here who are about to go through their 3rd + time of IVF who want a cycle buddy? I dont mean it badly towards anyone who is starting their IVF journey for the first time, (i was there just this time last year after all) but I feel a bit like I cant be as optomistic about it as I was, so dont want to drag any first timers down? Hope that makes sense!
Anyway, just to explain about me:
TTC #2 for over 2.5 years now
Unexplained Secondary Infertility (have 4 year old DS)
Age 40.5 Shock
AMH: 15.4
2 failed fresh and 1 falied FET (with single frozen 3BB embryo we got from 2nd fresh round)
about to start 3rd fresh round when my period starts in approx 7-10 days, so will probably be late october EC.
anyone else a bit jaded, but still vaguely hopeful want to join me?
xx

So sorry you’re having to go through this decaf but it’s good news you have a date for the ERPC so you can get start to move on Flowers

Thanks for all the testing advice - am leaning towards Saturday but will make a decision on the day!

Decafplease · 31/10/2017 22:56

Thanks hobbes, wanda, geeup. Feeling better now we have an end date in sight. I will probably take a couple of months to rest, then hopefully start again with better luck on 2018. Have some frosties left, so wont be giving up just yet.

Decafplease · 31/10/2017 22:57

Oh, and lulah and bjones! Missed you 1st time round.

Hobbes39 · 01/11/2017 11:33

Morning - I’m still feeling utterly exhausted bloated and a little bit queasy this morning - having felt not too bad last night (ate my dinner fine)... can I ask re OHSS - does it make you shattered? That’s currently my main ‘symptom’ it’s prob just me and my strong reaction to the sedative... but as I don’t remember feeling this overwhelmingly tired 2 days post op before, I’m slightly worrried... hmmm. Would I just know if I was OHS? X

Hi hobbes, sorry to hear you’re not feeling great. I’ve never had OHSS I’m afraid so can’t help on what the symptoms are - I’d give your clinic a call if you’re concerned. Hope you feel better soon!

geeup · 01/11/2017 13:17

Sorry I can't help - I haven't had it either!

bjonesreborn · 01/11/2017 13:32

Hi hobbes I haven’t had it either, sorry. Hope you feel better soon

Decafplease · 01/11/2017 15:54

Sorry hobbes havent had it either, but if you are still uncomfortable def give the clinic a call. Hope you feel better.

Coco24 · 01/11/2017 19:12

Hi everyone,

hobbes great news on your fertilisation results, i have everything crossed that this is the one. I've never had OHSS either so no help with the symptoms but i hope your feeling better soon xx

lulah congratulations on your transfer, not long till test day, Saturday sounds like a good day to test. Fingers crossed xx

decaf i'm sorry your having to go through this, hopefully the ERPC will give you some closure so you can start to heal. Take care xx

Hello to everyone else xx

Hobbes39 · 01/11/2017 21:38

Thanks guys - I think I was just hit hard by the anaesthetic and have taken a while to recover - feeling a lot better after a morning in bed so think OHSS shouldn’t be an issue. 🤞 now just have to wait for tomorrow’s phone call to find out how our embryos are doing...
hope everyone else is ok? X

Glad you’re feeling better hobbes and hope you get good news today!

Hobbes39 · 02/11/2017 09:24

Thank Lulah - nervously awaiting call... with my nervous dog keeping me semi calm...!

Gutted - transfer at 12 today. They wouldn’t tell me on phone re numbers but means that a lot must have dropped out the running. Fingers crossed any that are left are good one(s). I really had hoped I might get to blast stage this time with those numbers but not to be.

hobbes you never know which one might take! Good luck with transfer! xxx

bjonesreborn · 02/11/2017 11:34

hobbes remember you only need 1 magic one. Everything crossed for you at 12 xx

lulahbelle · 02/11/2017 12:17

I’m really sorry that it’s going to be a day 3 rather than day 5 transfer hobbes, but you may yet get some blasts to freeze and a day 3 transfer doesn’t mean it won’t work - I’ve read so many stories of day 3 transfers that are successful. Hope all goes well at 12 xx

Hobbes39 · 02/11/2017 13:27

Thanks all - I am now PUPO for the next week and a bit... with 2 embryos on board. 2 others might have a chance to make it to frozen, but not banking on it... others were still going, just, but poor quality so can expect them to be no more by end of today. Now I just wait and 🤞🤞. X

Congrats hobbes - welcome to the tww! When’s your OTD? Will keep my fingers crossed that you get some blasts to freeze.

bjonesreborn · 02/11/2017 16:12

Congratulations hobbes hope the 2ww whizzes by for you. Hoping it’s your time this round x

Hobbes39 · 02/11/2017 18:07

Hi - Lulah OTD is a blood test on Monday 13th... if t hasn’t worked I’ll probably know before then given my early bleeding the last 2 times, but the extra progesterone might be misleading there...
I’m feeling slightly more positive than I was earlier as when I think about it the 2 embryos were decent quality (both 8 cell, both grade 3 out of 4, where 4 is the best)... so who knows. One huge advantage I do appreciate everyday is that as I’ve been so lucky to have DS, he doesn’t give me much time to dwell on things... time is rushing by so fast as he gets older! So hopefully the 1 week 4 days will go quickly! X

Congrats on being pupo @Hobbes39 hope those embies hold on tight and keep growing!

Decafplease · 03/11/2017 19:56

So, i went for my ERPC this morning. And i am back, after waiting all day without water or food, and without having it done! There was an emergency which meant all the operations got delayed. As this isnt classed as critical, i was pushed to the bottom of the priority list, and finally told to come back Monday. It just feels like i cant move forward at all. Sad

Decafplease · 03/11/2017 19:59

I understand that emergencies take priority, but i just think they should have let me drink some water at least during the 9 hours i was futilely waiting there. Oh well, hopefully Monday goes better...

lulahbelle · 03/11/2017 20:20

Oh decaf, am so sorry - how utterly miserable for you. You must be so desperate to start putting the miscarriage behind you and whilst I understand that emergencies have to take priority, it does seem unnecessary to keep you there for 9 hours with nothing to drink. Hope you can have a relaxed weekend and that the op goes ahead on Monday xx

Hobbes39 · 03/11/2017 21:15

Hi Decaf - ug - that sounds awful. And yes, of course emergencies come first, but still - that’s awful you were left without water all that time - I know they want your bladder empty but surely once they knew of the Emergency and that you were pushed down, they should have let you have something as they’d know you’d have time... 🙄. I’m so sorry its all being drawn out - I know all you want at this stage is to try to put it behind you to let you have a chance to move on and try again. It’s so unfair and I’m so sorry. I hope they will put you top of the list on Monday xx
