Hi Ladies! Finally I will have my first IVF treatment as soon as my next cycle starts which I expect it to be more or less end of September/beginning of October. My periods are very irregular so I never know exactly. My consultant suggested antagonist protocol which I will receive in post soon. I am extremely excited but then realistic about the fact that it might not be successful first time.

How are you feeling ladies? When are you due to start your Ivf Journey? Fingers crossed for all of us fighters;-)

Hi Atik welcome

Nearly the weekend, hope everyone has got something nice planned, we are away with friends & their baby. I'm ok now with friends kids & nephews etc. They know we desperately want kids but last they knew we can't have them but it's the baby bombs that are hardest so they are sensitive & tell us via text or similar so we can deal with it. Very regular now! Still hurts but we move on.

In other news it's a good day for us today, we got my 3 monthly oncology CT scan results today & it's always nervy. But all still stable & basically as in remission as is possible so all good! Next time we'll know if the FET has worked! It's weird my oncology team know more about what's going on that my family Shock

dinks that's really rude and also pregnancy comments are maybe well meant but not in anyway helpful.

sunshine soon you'll know! Keep yourself busy!! Our clinic doesn't do bloods, apparently ppl kept complaining about waiting for blood results so now they just ask you to poas at home after 2ww as that's the result & call them, same as a 'normal pregnancy' informing GP! But seemed a bit less clinical after everything! But my friend & I & DH & her hubby & her kids will all be together

hanim how are you?

Anyone else waiting? Xx

Minster2012 · 28/09/2017 20:13

Hanim there you are!! How are you?! When are you testing?! Xx

Hanim79 · 28/09/2017 20:37

Hey 😘 Trying to catch up what I've missed can't believe I had no idea you lovely ladies had been posting. Not going to rely on alerts now. How you all doing ? This 2ww is drinking me insane, I hope you ladies do a better job then me when it's your turn! I test on Saturday morning. The last two days I've had some brown spotting so not quite sure what that's all about. And the clinic didn't say yes or know about my hair but it was the nurse there I don't like who upset me so going to call again and try a nice people person x x

Hanim79 · 28/09/2017 20:38

welcome to the new ladies I promise I will pay more attention and address individually next time I post. Sorry for being rubbish heads all over the place x z

Minster2012 · 28/09/2017 21:22

Hanim you've been brilliant waiting, not long now, from everything I have read spotting doesn't mean anything, you can bleed and be pregnant so a bit of spotting can definitely not mean anything. Stay strong!! Saturday is not far away!!

Your alerts obviously aren't working so don't rely on it! I will be heckling in to see what your news is and having everything crossed it's good, you are the first tester of the thread so sending everything your way lovely xxxx

Scotslass01 · 28/09/2017 21:47

Hello all,

Sorry I've not been on much. My head is all over the place.
Triggered last night and EC tomorrow and I'm so anxious. Been feeling really rough all day. My back is aching and I've never known bloating like it. I just want tomorrow to be here so I know what is what. This waiting is killing me. I'm dreading how I'm going to feel after the procedure.
How were you ladies? Can I expect to be uncomfortable??

Welcome Atika. You have had quite a journey. A very difficult one at that.

X

Sunshine300 · 28/09/2017 22:11

scotslass - you're nearly there! The pain after EC varied my 2 times.more of an uncomfortable thing rather than bad pain as long as I was lying I down and not getting around too much. Immediately after EC I was fine as they give you a strong pain killer so getting home etc wasn't an issue - even with a walk on either end of the train journey. The last day before with the bloating was the worst so at least that will start to go after tomorrow. You'll do great, just remember how much you've already gotten through and stay positive.

hanim - you're so close to testing... I'll be thinking of you on Saturday. Keep strong, I feel your pain with this wait... I've never been so emotional and erratic.

To everyone on here - whatever stage you're at - just wanted to say, can't thank you all enough for sharing this crazy emotional journey with me. It's been such a help having somewhere to vent/share/question and can't imagine how much crazier I would be feeling doing this alone.

Ok touchy feely emotional outburst over Wink
Xx

Hanim79 · 28/09/2017 22:43

Thank you minster 😊 It's frustrating because the spotting looks like images I've seen that could be implantation bleeding but there is no way I'm letting myself think it is or get excited because you just don't know. And I've convinced myself it will be a BFN. But not long to go now and it's out of my hands. It's up to the embie of it wanted to stick around or not. I of course keep you all posted. I feel quite numb at the moment x

Scotlass thank you and I do feel for you. For me I was actually ok after EC the pain killer worked a treat and then I chilled in the evening and it was no was as bad as I thought. I hope it's the same for you. We always here if you need anything, and emotional is my middle name. Unfortunately I have only been able to share what I have here with you ladies and I can't thank you all enough let me tell you! ❤️ Outbursts are key and you need to let it out. X x hugs to everyone 🤗

Hanim79 · 28/09/2017 22:45

Sorry sunshine I didn't write your name but hope you knew it was a reply to you! Jesus I'm shocking I can't even work out how to do the bold names and tag names like all of you do! Grrrr x x

Hanim79 · 28/09/2017 22:46
Confused
Minster2012 · 28/09/2017 22:46

Scotslass the first bit is nearly over, my EC was ok in the afternoon afterwards but I did get cramping for about a week but I was still able to walk 3 dogs for 5 miles a day so really only mildly discomfort, in the grand scheme of things I was expecting much worse! But then again I always got period pains so maybe it's just a 'me' reaction his my body coped & they found it difficult to get one follicle out so they said I was likely to feel some pain afterwards. Just think, one hurdle down, then onto stage 2 of this journey!

It is a crazy journey & so good to have ppl who know what we are going through as it is so alien to those that don't...you say IVF to ppl & they assume it will work first time, we all know that's not necessarily the case & god they don't know the stress, the heartache, the emotional trauma & pain it takes just to do it let alone if it's tough like you Atik only those doing it or done it know. It's great to have support

Ha Hanim I only know how to bold as I asked on the thread before & dinks told me!
You put a * star either side of the name! I'm just showing off my growing mumsnet abilities after only joining recently!!

Scotslass01 · 29/09/2017 08:19

Hey ladies,
On route to EC. Feeling soooooo nervous. My tummy is churning.
Here's hoping someone is watching over me and we get some good quality eggs.
I'll keep you posted.
Thank you all for your encouragement.
Xx

dinksandbinks · 29/09/2017 08:31

Good luck Scots!!!! Thinking of you Flowers

dinksandbinks · 29/09/2017 08:48

Good morning everyone,

So I took my trigger shot last night and woke up like a beach ball, I'm sooo bloated!! Think I'm going to need some of those trapped wind tablets :o

Hanim You've got so much on your mind!!! Don't worry about not remembering names here, we'll all be the same when we get to that stage!! I'd be going out of my mind in the wait too, it sounds like such an emotional time. I have everything crossed for you!! (I only found out about the stars/bold thing by accident hehe)

Minster that's great news about your CT yesterday!! Are you going to have a mini celebration? It is odd how random strangers on the internet, and your oncology team, and in my case a friend in Canada, know all about this but we don't tell families... For me it's just too hard to fail, having told people. So I don't tell.

Sunshine Thanks so much for all your advice about the EC. I go from sheer terror (with sobbing) to bring curious about how many follicles they'll get. And I totally hear you on the emotional outburst!! I can't tell you how comforting it is to have you all here, I'm sooooo grateful. I'm glad it is comfort to others too!!

Atik sorry I missed your post! Welcome and good luck on your journey!

Right I'm going to sign off as the cat keeps trying to snuggle on my beach ball belly and it's a bit uncomfortable!!

Happy Friday everyone

Scotslass01 · 29/09/2017 09:00

Dinks - I'm the same. I've never felt bloating like it. I struggled to get my wedding rings off. Hahaha my cat seems to know and kept trying to sit on my tummy. Wee rascals x

dinksandbinks · 29/09/2017 09:05

Oh hey Scots! Did you get there ok? Have you got a wait? Hope you're feeling ok!!

Are your boobs killing you too?? Mine feel enormous, and are so sore! Cats don't respect sore bits lol. I have two, and they compete to sit on the squishiest bits of me :o

ElizabethCatherine · 29/09/2017 09:11

Hi ladies! Is it ok if I join in :) I am currently going through my first IVF cycle. I am already onto the injections I just did day 5 injections this morning and had my day 5 scan to see how things are going. I have PCOS. I just found out that I had 42 follicles growing which scares me a bit the norm is 15-21 so it looks like I have to be monitored even closer now due to hyper stimulation. I’m a little nervous and hope my cycle doesn’t get called off. Any one else experience this? I definitely feel very “crampy” in my ovaries. Looking forward to connecting with other ladies on this journey together x

Scotslass01 · 29/09/2017 09:22

Dinks- in the waiting room eeeeek! Yeah they are really sore as well. Much worse than abnormal cycle.
Heehee but we love them 😻

A have app on the 17th of my first injection. When a had ma positive blood test a didn't had any symptoms But once wen a got abt 5cold sores then 3days after a stated bleeding nd felt like a was passing smtg nd De nurse gave me just cheap pregnancy test with ofc showed am pregnant den she sed she can't do nuffin else cz it's not 6th week nd dat she guna c me in few days wen 6th week start.. But in this 6th week a started hv rly bad period pain nd blood a rang der nd they sed it's not emergency nd they all fully booked so a must wait for ma app... Nd after few h after De phonecall a passed the sac... ;( nd all pain gone away.. so the next day morning a rang nd told them this nd they sed they fully booked that this sumtyms happen nd hw cn a know it's a sac nd a hv to wait obviously a was need to lie dat a hv pain etc so they cn c me. So finally a got app nd yh it's proved a did miscarriage.. Everything.. Der was nuffin else inside all clean. So dis tym a won't b dat stupid even if a spotting or bleed Lil bit fast a going to emergency cz dis is our last chance tru nhs..
Wen a was talk to doctoe a tort to put to embryos this tym BT he told me it's more chance to miscarriage so he want put only one cz am too young lol .. Is that true? Cz on too many forums/websites a did read dat with two embryos it's more chance to work..

First tym a didn't do nuffin nd didn't work, then 2nd try a did acupuncture nd it was work.. Hmm BT a don't fink that was the case (plus am scared of niddles so a didn't enjoy dat nd didn't feel any different) cz on 2nd try doctor told meh ma blood too thick so a was on injections to make ma blood better so a fink dat was help... Dis tym a nt guna do acupuncture, need to get sum vitamins nd start take them so they cn kick in b4 transfer.. Aww sorry for long text xxx

dinksandbinks · 29/09/2017 12:10

Welcome Elizabeth! I have PCOS, although mild. That is a lot of follicles! At my baseline scan I had 16 on one side and 13 on the other, though I have no idea how many there are now... I'm sure I saw the nurse write '7' but I that could have been anything. What dose are you on? I'm doing short protocol, with 225 merional.

Atik that sounds like you've had a rough time. Tbh other than the usual pre-pregnancy vitamins, I don't think there's any evidence for any vitamins or drinks that can help. Just be healthy and that will be your best bet. Putting in one or two depends hugely on the quality of the embryos. If you have top quality embryos, then one tends to be best, as you don't really increase your chance of success by putting in two.

Scots hope you're getting on ok!

Minster2012 · 29/09/2017 13:07

Hi Elizabeth sorry didn't want to ignore you earlier but had to dash so just wanted to wish Scots luck! Welcome, the more the merrier Smile. 42 is a lot, I hope it settles and it's not HOSS so it doesn't get cancelled as it's quite dangerous you really don't want that.

Atik I also think just taking multi vitamins & folic acid is best, & eating healthy, I'm a firm believer in just being sensible & there's not much we can do to influence it, otherwise we'd all be sharing the magic definitely! We are transferring 1 embryo, we only have 2 in total which are both high quality so we think the best plan is to go for 1 & then can go for another again, give them both a shot rather than 'all in one basket'.

Thanks dinks there was a glass of Wine & then maybe a Gin last night to celebrate!

I feel bloated but have no excuse except for an empty packet of biscuits beside me in the immunotherapy suite!! Grin always have biscuits during treatment, NHS silver lining! Oops

Hanim79 · 29/09/2017 14:32

Hello ladies x and rooting for you Scots! I am going to have a practice with the bold names shortly. Been a bit quiet as I am now convinced I am coming on my period. Not feeling great to be honest and I'd just been out to buy the test for tomorrow. I didn't think my period could come until I stop the fanny things but maybe it can. Xxx
