IVF September/October 2017

Hi Ladies! Finally I will have my first IVF treatment as soon as my next cycle starts which I expect it to be more or less end of September/beginning of October. My periods are very irregular so I never know exactly. My consultant suggested antagonist protocol which I will receive in post soon. I am extremely excited but then realistic about the fact that it might not be successful first time.

How are you feeling ladies? When are you due to start your Ivf Journey? Fingers crossed for all of us fighters;-)

I didn’t go in until 10 in the end, woke up feeling super emotional had a good cry! I’m sure it was the drugs and the fact I was hungry !

just seen the embryologist they collected 12 eggs out of 16 that’s not bad!

DH sample was good too so that’s a relief (he was boarder line on his later sample).

Now have to wait and will find out if any are mature and can be fertilised

In a bit of pain but have co codomol so sure that will kick in shortly.

Awesome Dbear! That's brilliant, 12 is fab, I bet you were hungry!! Are you able to chill out now for the remainder of the day? Take it easy, don't let the painkillers then fool you that you're invincible when they kick in, relax

DBear wow they made you wait! 12 eggs that's great sweetie and glad to hear your DH soldiers are good too. Great news all around! Fingers crossed on the mature ones sweetie 😘. It hurts? Oh gosh take good care of yourself you have done really my lovely!!!

Yes I am also surrended by surgeons and docs in my family and friends and the stories aren't pretty so I don't really pay attention, although I am aware of it.

Well, the scan is done... they didn't find a heartbeat . They said it might be a bit slow, so I've got to go back next week. The plus point is at least it's not ectopic. Ho hum.

Star Thank you I need all the hugs today! I'm not out 'til I'm out, I guess. My next scan is on Thurs, when I'll be 6weeks 5 days. The nurse kept saying I should call them if I get any pain, or feel unwell... kind of felt like she was preparing me for miscarriage? I dunno.

Maybe it's those flipping expectations again. I just really wanted to see a heartbeat and because we didn't I feel all is lost. I need a cake.

Also had a stupid argument with OH in the car on the way back because he came in with me but wouldn't draw the curtain when I was trying to get dressed and I gave him a death-stare.

Meh. What a day. Hope everyone else is having a good day?!

minster almost puppy day yay! Sorry you and your friend felt upset yesterday, it's quite normal. Hope you're feeling better today.

It's 4dp5dt transfer and I've been getting some twinges. No idea what to make of them. Had acupuncture today which helped. Got to keep positive!

Hopefully Thursday you have a more conclusive scan.
In the mean time have cake! And a cuddle with the OH, it’s ok to be frustrated and peed off just roll with it and let it out don’t keep it all in.

Thanks for all the everyone we are pleased with 12 eggs, just got in and I’m on the sofa the DH is making me up a hot water bottle. I’m lucky I have nothing planned for the whole wkend now to chill.

How long did people take off work after EC? I have the option to WFH do you think that would be better?

Finally got period, nurse see one week from injection a shud hv period so dat mean last Tuesday nd a just got today so a hope on ma app on Tuesday they will start build ma lining, cz twice b4 Ave got period one day b4 app nd first time a was ready even dat a had period nd 2nd time a was need to wait few days cz they see lining need to b max 4mm to put me on dis all tablets

dinks isn't is just quite early for a heartbeat? Our clinic don't do a scan until they think you are 6 or 7 weeks so next Thursdays would fit with when our clinic would do one. And of course you are going to feel shit, bloody hell you're bound to feel shit it was meant to be exciting and now you are worrying more and nothing we can say will stop that do don't be hard on yourself. I can imagine me & DH having a row too, we have had a couple on the way back from the clinic in the early stages as he got his head round w*nking into a pot being "not the way to make a baby" & me saying "rather that than nothing" but it was all processing & you two were probably both processing your disappointment so give him a hug & a kiss & forget the silly row.

Otters I got loads of random twinges!! It was so bizarre. It made me acutely aware of where my ovaries and other organs are!! Jealous of your acupuncture session, I had it for a shoulder injury and it was just so relaxing... if only it wasn't so expensive up here!

Atik I think that's the only time I'd ever be excited about getting my period!! Good luck for the appt on Tuesday, fingers crossed :) Are you feeling any better?

Minster I'm 6 weeks exactly, as my clinic date it from my period rather than EC. They expect to see a heartbeat between 5.5 to 7 weeks so I'm still early in that range, so I shouldn't be glum. It's just those flipping expectations!! It is measuring the right size, so I hope all will be well :) I got a 6 week scan because of my ectopic last time - I think the routine scans are 7 weeks.

Dbear I worked from home the whole week after my EC, mainly because I was super bloated and couldn't fit into my work clothes! Did get a bit lonely towards the end though. Enjoy your weekend of chilling! Got netflix ready? :)

We are off to OH's parents for the weekend.... ugh. They are lovely, just... they manage to wind me up, esp his mum!!

LOL ladies I realised I must come across as so high maintenance on here... I wish I could said it wasn't true in real life but I'm afraid it is!!

dinks I have no idea why you think u are high maintenance, u sound perfectly reasonable to me! Maybe that says more bout me too! I think if bean is measuring right then surely growing & next week will be the one. I LOL'd about OH's parents, not what I need, I spent last evening with MIL & a SIL at a Christmas fair & bought some choc honeycomb, offered some to them & during quiet bit of a fashion show MIL said to me "u haven't scoffed them all have u?!" Having only had 2 bits with the rest of packet in front of me I looked at SIL mortified! Says "she doesn't actually mean it does she?" SIL, size 8, 1 yr old, "probably, never know if she's joking".

Needless to say I went home & scoffed the lot!!

GINDOG. Minster you know years down the line we will check up on you and make sure you did actually train the dog to bring you gin lol.

And don't get started on the MIL stories!! At least there is a SIL... I only have a BIL and when he and OH get together - as they will this weekend - they are so much trouble, and their dad joins in. Which means I get left with MIL. Honestly they are all lovely. She just totally winds me up and I have no idea why!!

If I train it well enough I will send a picture of a gin balancing on it! You may be waiting a while!! (Gundogs need to be trained steadiness to stay still a long time so maybe I can??!!)

dinks I have 2 SIL and a fake SIL who has not yet got a ring! I get on best with the fake one who is just like me, one other v well, the other not so much but fine, my MIL is lovely but sometimes needs an "off" switch!! But saying that I will totally admit they are much more fun than my very straight laced DM so I wouldn't change it!!

Dinks - nw a feel more bad cz dat period pain is bad BT ofc feeling better cz ano period came nt soo late lol its soo cold even dat a hv all heatings on max.. Don't know wat to do to help ma feet nd hands stock being frozen... Dr told me ma blood thick so a need take blood thinner injections BT dat a starting straight away after transfer.. Nd obviously another massive cold sore on ma lip

Dbear Welcome :) it sounds like your EC went well? Hope you are having a good rest now and are being well looked after.

Dinks sorry to hear your scan is inconclusive. But you totally have the right attitude, you aren’t out until you’re out 😊 (And I’m with you on being high maintenance… our doctor asked if I had been “temperamental” on the down reg meds, which I had totally been, and I jokingly said, you better ask my boyfriend, and my OH said (in a non-jokey way), “I haven’t noticed any difference”. So I’m obviously always a bit cantankerous. Oops.)

Otter glad to hear things are going well. Twinges sound exciting 😊 Would you recommend acupuncture?

Star I remember reading that at when it came, thinking "pah, I am a clever woman, I would not fall for this hocum..." then when we were offered a few extras OH had to really persuade me against it!

The science is not there, but the hope is. That's the really shitter! I know my clinic is part of a large scale clinical trial to assess the effectiveness of the scratch, and I think if women are informed and choose to take part that's one thing. But preying on hopes is really crappy. I know there are regulations for clinics, but I don't know if that covers selling snake oil :/
