IVF September/October 2017

Hi Ladies! Finally I will have my first IVF treatment as soon as my next cycle starts which I expect it to be more or less end of September/beginning of October. My periods are very irregular so I never know exactly. My consultant suggested antagonist protocol which I will receive in post soon. I am extremely excited but then realistic about the fact that it might not be successful first time.

How are you feeling ladies? When are you due to start your Ivf Journey? Fingers crossed for all of us fighters;-)

gosh so many different sets of instructions!!! i was told no food after midnight, and only a sip of water to take my regular medication at 7am. Another sip to take paracetamol an hour before the EC at 10ish.

I had a sandwich and cup of tea after (best cup of tea ever!!) but forgot to bring the snacks I carefully planned, so I was hungry and randomly wanted a McDonald’s on the way home which I had one mouthful of then threw up. Didn’t eat much the rest of the day lol

and Aliona I will post as soon as I finish the scan!! I’m so nervous. I’m dreading bad news, it’s so hard to be an optimist when you’re dealing with infertility. I’m going to head to bed now, with everything crossed (no starfish tonight lol)!!!

dinksandbinks Nurse said to have glass of water just before 6, as far as I remember, she explained it as “you will have to pee before you go home otherwise we can’t doscharge you. So just to ensure your have something to pee with” 😅

dinksandbinks I am off to bed too. Everything crossed for u!! It’s extremely hard.. ivf gives you such a massive hope! And it’s such a stressful experience.. so it’s heartbreaking to accept a failure. But that’s just us thinking and stressing out. The reality is-it will all work out perfect! Hope you enjoy your scan 🙃🙃 swing little peanut of yours in there ❤️❤️❤️

dbear welcome! What a time to join just before EC! Agree with everything these lovelies say, take slippers & dressing gown too, agree with snacks, and didn't someone have to wait FOREVER??!! Was that you aliona?!!!

Filip you've really not got that long left, you've done amazing and hardy and harry it must be so hard when you have spotting, I can't imagine that horror at the minute but until u get that result it truly isn't over, so it's definitely not over yet.

dinks massive good luck for your scan tomorrow, I hope you start to feel better again, there's always Aliona to do your injections! Dalmations are great so maybe it's a good look??!!

I'm just muddling along, now waiting for Saturday to get puppy to take my mind off things, my friend says she feels fine so that's ok but both of us were a bit upset last night it seems. I have tried to reassure her a few weeks doesn't matter, now I just need to convince my own mind 😞Of course it's ok, it doesn't matter a jot, but that doesn't make it easier

Minster2012 Huh?! Still waiting forever 😂 what for EC? Yes forever. Bcoz I was last 2 girls. But still not 13 hours without water. Was at home 2.30
Don’t you get all sad!! Think this delay is for a good reason! I always do that. Maybe if u done transfer this week-the Doctor would have had a hangover and didn’t do job well!! Delay is bcoz it meant to be this way, so it’s all perfect and at the right time xxx

I bet it seemed like forever at the time, I remember the messages and you weren't very happy!! I meant to say take a book in case you were waiting like Aliona!! Must have missed that bit off! Sorry!!

DBear welcome and yes I am feeling also apprehensive about the EC, but being on here has reassured me. Trigger shit and EC tomorrow, OMG how exiting for being at that stage already! 16 follys from what I read is great, I reckon your nurse was constipated hence her lack of communication. You will do great I am sure ! Good luck for tomorrow and I want to know all about it pleasssee !!!

Aliona I hear you about the frustration of not knowing sweetie. Is it a matter of waiting for a phone call and get straight in for the ET?

Harry I did think you did test to but I am glad you stuck to your plan. It is ok to be grumpy!!! Soon enough sweetie

Dinks the scan is tomorrow? How wonderful sweetie!! I am sending lots of love for this amazing moment . Yes, Fertility Reflexology is AMAZING!!!! Very relaxing indeed. I do it weekly and snore within 2 minutes . I highly recommended as they are trained to treat IVF/ICSI all infertility scenarios. They have a lot to share, mine has anyway. Try it Dinks!!! Thank you and yes I am an organiser freak, nobody's perfect right? My next cycle should start on the 14th of November so apparently starting stims on the 15th (2nd of my cycle). I am fascinated about it all now

So currently sitting in the hospital reception waiting to be admitted for EC assume I will be in for around 9am (I’m gasping for a cuppa already). Have the slippers and dressing gown plus snacks thanks minster2012

I’m at Woking hospital luckily for us we have nhs funding.

Update - I go in 9.20qm this morning I’m all gowned up and ready to go! The DH has already ploughed his way through 2 cups of tea and we’ve ordered our poached eggs on toast for brekkie (thought we’d keep the egg theme going) lol

dinksandbinks Unfortunately that’s reality. My boss once was having a drink (like family party) with one major surgeon and he was pretty drunk. Not only he drove home himself after getting drunk but had surgeries to perform in the morning. I really hope there is a way of checking them before procedures 😕

Yeah unfortunately I agree with Aliona, loads of my friends are doctors and I told them to stop telling me stuff (other than the funny stories of what people have come into A&E with stuck "up" them & the "stories" of how it happened...like the 81man who "accidentally fell on a large cucumber that had fallen out of the fridge & it got wedged up his bum" yeah of course that's what happened Fred 🤣🤣
