I saw that we were nearly hitting 1k posts 😱 so thought I'd make a new one before we got cut off!
Hope everyone finds us!!!!

OP posts:
chivintassle · 21/08/2017 11:32

Thanks bill haven't explored other avenues as we always said we'd only do it with our constituent parts. I don't think we're in that place and not sure tbh.
How much money do we throw at this before walk away? Rhetoric question! I don't think if I walked away now I'd be able to say I'd tried everything, and guess need to get there.
How is everyone else doing? At least with me out, I've upped everyone else's % chances!

thirtyplusone · 21/08/2017 11:41

I'm at lister yes, you can go to the shard or Chelsea for appointments and I go to the shard as it's always the same nurse and very quiet and relaxing. I find Chelsea a bit busy and bloods etc are 'drop in' so you can find yourself waiting. But the Dr care is second to none and my nurse at the shard is so so lovely.

We just dropped in for an initial consultation with Dr Alison Taylor. It cost 250 (I think) and she was everything we could have possibly hoped for. So helpful and had a lovely manner. The level of care is exceptional.

I never replied as to why I nearly complained the other day!! I had a agency nurse who tried 5 times to get blood and the needle catapulted out of my arm across the room 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣. Other than that 10/10

thegamblersmrs · 21/08/2017 12:00

Aw @chivintassle I'm so sorry to hear this.

I didn't do much other than google researches and I'm nhs so there was no messing around and straight for ivf. They don't offer any alternatives to ivf/ICSI where I am so I couldn't give any advice on why to do.

The only thing I really looked into was Chinese medicine and I know if we fail I'll probably go down that route prior to another cycle then I'll know I've tried everything.

Wish I could help, know that you can get support here anytime.

ChoChang · 21/08/2017 12:01

Oh chivin im so sorry that this has happened, sending you lots of love Flowers

I second what the others say about getting another opinion, especially if youve got highly recommended clinics. Even if after their advice you didnt end up taking it any further then at least you might feel youd taken advice from a number of specialists, so it might help. Were the same in that weve previously discussed that if this doesnt go our way we probably wont go down donor/adoption route, although who knows how we'll feel in the future. Take some time and if youre not feeling up to it dont go into work, put yourself first x

Just back from scan (day 10). Didnt go quite as well as id been hoping. Gone from 1 x 11, 1 x 10 and 9 less than 10s on thursday to 1x 16, 1 x 13, 1 x 12 and a bunch of less than 10s. Got more follies now than last week though. Looks to me like dominant one has responded but the others havent moved much at all in 4 days. Got a re-scan on Wed to see what another couple of days does.

thirty how on earth was blood that difficult to take?! Not surprised you nearly complained.

Leanne1185 · 21/08/2017 12:05

Wow I'll catch up later i only have a short lunch break today! Nothing yet although got cramp but tbh don't know if it's nervous belly 😂

chivintassle · 21/08/2017 12:19

Thanks thirty I didn't know Lister had a clinic at the shard, that could work as I work at London Bridge. I'm just nervous of moving clinics and not getting any learnings. I bet you got a bruise and a half from that experience! I hope you said something.
gamblers thanks, I've not looked at Chinese medicine, but have been doing acupuncture and the dr today said don't bother!!
Thanks cho one dominant follie, that's the problem! Did the dr think the others would catch up? I was told today 17 is target and 15/16 might be mature but not a given. Good luck with the rest catching up.

Thanks again guys, feeling the love xx

ChoChang · 21/08/2017 12:31

She didnt seem too concerned just said they were responding but in a chilled out way! I guess will have a better idea on Wed. Shes not talked about abandoning at all just that it might take a bit longer and, so im trying to stay positive for now.

Glad theres no spotting for you leanne

MelbourneClown03 · 21/08/2017 13:13

Oh @chivintassle I'm really sorry to hear your news. It's absolutely rubbish when it all falls apart. I have been quoted diabolical odds of success due to medical issues. I've given up asking about increasing / diminishing odds. It's just too depressing.

Great news @Leanne1185. I'm keeping everything crossed for you and AF doesn't make an appearance. To everyone else, good luck with today. Sending you folly growing and embryo sticking dust to you all.

Floofles · 21/08/2017 13:43

Oh chivin FlowersFlowersFlowers
It sucks so much you can't DTD when you have an egg there - could you iui with the frozen?
I'm so sorry we can't make it better, but you are not a failure, you are strong and this not you or your bodies fault - it's just a crappy crappy scenario, but you can and will get through it!
I hate hate hate it when people say 'if it's meant to be....' so feel free to internet slap me BUT this morning (while Pinteresting) I saw a saying 'if it doesn't open, it's not your door' which I found calming (if not cheering!)
In terms of top clinics all being relatively similar in terms of success rates - that's what the HFEA seems to show, although they all take different routes so a different clinic might work better for your individual case Flowers

Leanne stick it out, nothing bad yet and my fingers are crossed so hard for you!

Day 27 of stims for me 😱 and will continue to weds as we are looking at egg collection Friday because I have from what I saw on the ultrasound 3 over 17 and about 3 on the 14-15 mark!!!
Nurse said we're not quite there yet, but she's pretty certain Friday is a go ahead!
Probably looking at a frostie transfer not a fresh, as my ovaries are literally touching they're so big now! And she explained a bit more about the nausea but didn't seem concerned at all. She also reiterated that at the moment FETs have a slightly higher success rate at my clinic so it's nothing to be concerned about, and that lying down all day is actually good for me and not lazy at all!

My main fear now is that I'm going to be a literal mess as a bridesmaid on Saturday for my oldest friend. I just hope I'm not actually vomitting and I get a good chance to sit down!

Leanne1185 · 21/08/2017 15:26

Hi all sorry just catching up! Choking that really does suck and I'm so sorry u had to hear that news! There is always a next move in this journey so whatever one u choose will be right for u!!

Great news floo not long till EC now woohoo, ovaries are touching? Holy cow!!
I just left work earlier than usual as I wasn't going out my mind going to the loo every 5 mins so I'm home to walk my dog and try to chill xxx

Floofles · 21/08/2017 15:40

Yup - they were looking at my right ovary, and then into focus came my left one like 'oh hi there, me too...'
I'm hoping I have more than she measured - it's so full in there it must be really hard to be accurate and some of them are properly squished up and tiny!

Good idea leaving work early. I genuinely don't know how I will cope at work, or not at work... I haven't managed to eat anything really today, but I guess my ovaries are taking up a lotta space 😒 but I'm spending all day obsessing so maybe it'd be better to be distracted!?

Leanne1185 · 21/08/2017 15:46

Iv enjoyed the distraction of work tbh but today has been tough and tomorrow will be worse so wish I was off at the moment xx

Floofles · 21/08/2017 19:04

You're a teacher aren't you Leanne what age range (if you don't mind saying) how do you manage to go to the loo often enough? It's one of my fears about returning!
If you need the time do ring in sick, we need to look after ourselves too Flowers

Leanne1185 · 21/08/2017 19:08

I'm in nursery this year floo so it's very easy! If I was in class I'd be demented 😫

Floofles · 21/08/2017 19:59

I've got a ta in the morning and also a child who needs 1-1 support, but they're not always in my classroom (they go out and about around the school a lot!). My class isn't close to any other classrooms (well it can't be seen from any other room - it's not far to send someone with a note!) and I teach 6yo so I can't just nip out for 3 mins to pee!
I guess I'll just have to send a note up to the office so someone can come down but it seems so faffy!
On the flip side I've peed at least 10 times today and I really haven't drunk enough Confused
Going in to school on Thurs and my head should be there so I might talk it through with her even though she's seconding elsewhere until Easter!

thegamblersmrs · 21/08/2017 20:24

Sending a note! Can't believe that still happens. What I find so strange is that we never read the note but it would be so easy to have a peek!

Floofles · 21/08/2017 20:48

Haha well I like to choose those who aren't so good at reading and write really small if it's confidential!
Tbh I'd probably just send someone sensible to say Mrs Floofles would like to go to the toilet 😂😂😂😂😂
They'll know where I'm going regardless...
Or ask Mr 1:1 to be close in the afternoon so I can nip out... Or just not drink after 12...
It's only 3 hours so I shouldn't get too dehydrated Confused

Plus hopefully I'll be over the stims by then and not have to do it again, and hopefully the progesterone won't need quite so much hydration!

thegamblersmrs · 21/08/2017 21:22

I couldn't cope with my pee breaks monitored well maybe now I could since I've sorted my bladder.

Ec tomorrow, I actually feel very sorry for my OH, can't be pleasant having to give himself a seeing to in the infirmary 😂 mind you if he dares to tell me how unpleasant it is I maybe to bring out the daily internal scans etc!

thirtyplusone · 21/08/2017 21:44

Day 27 Floof!! Gah! Do you have an ec date yet?

Good luck tomorrow Gamblers!! OH took much amusement in telling me about the 'magazine selection' 🤔🙄🤣 Something about a readers wives issue 😮😮😮🤣🤣🤣

Floofles · 21/08/2017 22:24

Haha I should be doing EC on Friday!!!
So altogether 30 days!!!
Assuming Wednesday scan is ok!

Good luck tomorrow!
DH didn't say that there was anything interesting to look at for his SA but he managed it 😂 twice!
He hasn't complained though - whereas I complain near constantly about my scans 😂

Today's nurse scanned a lot lower down though which was less painful, although made me need to pee a lot!!! (Maybe because my ovaries are so swollen!)

With regards to monitored peeing, I'm fine to pop out whenever, but bad form to leave the class alone as they're so little - hence it being such a pain!!!

Did Lola make it to this thread? I hope she's OK!

Also did anyone else get a cough with stims, or am I actually ill? I thought it was all linked (my crackly lungs are making me cough I think, but perhaps I'm actually just ill!)

BiscuitBill · 21/08/2017 23:06

Is anyone else using cyclogest?? I have been using it for 3 days, morning & night. I just wiped (tmi warning) and instead of the usual white goo from the pessaries it was a browny colour?? This didn't happen last time? I'm panicking that something's gone wrong 😩 I've also had pains in my tummy today, I put it down to a dodgy tummy but now wondering if it could be period pains?

OP posts:
BiscuitBill · 21/08/2017 23:13

Panic over - I just asked dr google & apparently spotting & abdominal cramps are common side effects!from the cyclogest!
I just panicked because I never had any side effects last time?! Even with the buserelin and this time got awful headaches & tiredness!

OP posts:
thegamblersmrs · 22/08/2017 06:35

Bill I think a few of the gang are on it as I recognise the name. I've been drug free for 36 hours hours and lived my freedom but panicked every hour thinking I've forgotten something!
Time to go get these eggs collected!

MelbourneClown03 · 22/08/2017 06:49

@BiscuitBill I'm on Cyclogest. I think the side effects get worse with each cycle. I can't remember any side effects in round 1, round 2 I was ravenous all the time and now round 3 I've been quite crampy and a bit nauseous Confused Are you on a higher dose this time. I wonder if cranking the dosage up to 3 times a day from 2 has made me feel the side effects more.

chivintassle · 22/08/2017 07:12

Good luck today gamblers hope EC goes well 🍳
leanne how you doing? Is it otd/poas day? Fingers crossed for you.
bill not sure sounds like a terrible side effect sent to spook!!

AFM I booked a flight to Dubai and fly tonight, mum and dad are there on a long holiday and I need a break. Unfortunately I only have work clothes and gym kit in London, so my bag looks erm interesting! Plus legs bruised and tummy bloated. Oh well 😔 Vit D here I come ! Got to get through work first 😬
