IVF Cycle Buddies August/September?

meadowlark3 · 02/08/2017 19:21

Anyone starting a cycle this month? I know there's a July/August thread, but seems that they've mostly all started on their cycles. I'm due to start DR tomorrow and if all goes well will have EC at the beginning of September.

Have not shared our IVF journey with too many people in IRL so would love to have a bit of company here. This will be our first go at IVF, so quite nervous at the mo!

@BeHereNow31 Me too!!! I even collated a list and ticked off matching ones! And I was driving myself totally mad!

BeHereNow31 · 21/02/2018 18:05

I really want to ask you what symtoms had, but I know that’s prob a bad idea haha. I’m very happy for you though.
Going for a walk tomorrow, I think. Then lunch with a friend on Friday. And no more googling! Xx

Janefx40 · 21/02/2018 18:19

Wow @fox congratulations!!! 💐💐💐

Such amazing news.

Can't believe it showed up so soon too - must be a strong one!!! You were a day 5 so in the "non IVF" world, it's the equivalent of 10 dpo.

Hooray hooray!!!! So now you can relax and start enjoying the ride.

@BeHereNow31 your day will come soon xxx

Fox23 · 21/02/2018 18:29

@BeHereNow31 it was day 5. And regarding symptoms- yours are the same as mine!
Headache, slight pulls and tugs, massive mood swings, mad appetite and unbelievable tiredness. I believe because it’s FET results sometimes appear earlier (no idea why) also, if both have taken then more hcg is produced. I honestly didn’t expect to see positive, I only did it to calm myself down. You never know 😊

BeHereNow31 · 21/02/2018 18:34

It’s lovely - I’m so glad you tested early! 😂🙂 xx

BeHereNow31 · 22/02/2018 13:23

@Fox23 how are you feeling today? I can’t make up my mind how I feel lol. My hunger has gone... actually barely feel like eating. I’m still getting that ache in my womb, which makes me worry. Meeting my friend soon, which will hopefully take my mind off things.

@janefx23 do you know when you could start your ICSI cycle? X

Janefx40 · 22/02/2018 16:21

@BeHereNow31 glad you are meeting a friend - distraction is the name of the game.

We can't start until April whichever clinic we go with so that I have one clear cycle between. Our NHS appt will be in about a month then start cycle at beginning of next period.

Only dilemma is this. Our private cycle was super expensive and it would be amazing to get a free cycle. And stats aren't everything. But the NHS clinic get 15% live births per cycle for ages 40-41 compared to 31% at our private clinic. That is a huge difference. So we'll have to think xx

BeHereNow31 · 22/02/2018 16:51

That is a massive difference!! It would be a shame for you not to use your nhs round, but I understand why. April isn’t too far away now. I know it always feels like a long wait with ivf though.

Xx

Fox23 · 22/02/2018 17:30

@Janefx40 I still think it’s worth trying NHS because you would only lose about 4months if not successful but you would save lots of money! However if it is successful, then even better! It’s a win win. 😁
I’m on NHS and I got 1 fresh and 1 frozen for free. I wasn’t even told about frozen until few months ago, but if you can get it on NHS- use it and keep the Frosties!
@BeHereNow31 oh darling, you must stop stressing. There are no indications in symptoms ... I so wish there was. When I lost tiredness day before yesterday I panicked. Of course, it was back yesterday. Try to distract yourself 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

BeHereNow31 · 22/02/2018 17:46

I agree with Fox. Jane -I do think it would be worth using your NHS cycle. The actual process doesn’t take too long.

Thanks Fox. Actually had a much better day today. It’s best to get out the house and not spend all the time looking up symtoms!

Can’t believe How soon test date is! Xx

Ging78 · 22/02/2018 18:56

OMG Fox amazing news!! I had my fingers and toes crossed for you. You put 2 in didn't you? Or could be twins. I'm so so very happy for you. Xxx

Be here now still have my fingers crossed for you.

Jane great news about the nhs Id ignore the success rates and go with nhs.

Thinking of you all xx

BeHereNow31 · 24/02/2018 10:41

How is everyone?!?

I am so emotional. I’ve been quite calm the last few days, and today.. I just want to cry. Going out though, so hopefully I snap out of it.

Had some pressure, back pain, but that’s gone for now.

Hope everyone is coping ok xx

Janefx40 · 24/02/2018 11:09

Hiya. @BeHereNow31 not surprised you are emotional - it's a crazy time. I'm impressed you've been calm last few days.

I'm fine. Still mulling over clinics. I'll be 41 next month so for me, 4 months is a long time to lose if it goes wrong. But we have our follow up appointment at the private clinic on Monday so will gather all info and think.

Do you have a fun weekend planned?

@Fox23 how are you feeling?

Thanks @Ging78 lovely to hear from you
Xxx

Fox23 · 24/02/2018 16:02

Good afternoon ladies!
@Ging78 I’m so happy to hear from you! How are you?? Waddling around yet 😆 does it show already?
@BeHereNow31 you have been so strong! As Jane said- I can’t believe you managed to stay calm! It’s only 2 days left 🤞🤞🤞🤞
@Janefx40 - I was reading about IVF statistics. As being in your situation is very difficult. apparently each case/try is classed as one. So if 2 women try- 1 successful on first try, the other on 5th then total is 6/2 = success rate 33.3% although both got pregnant. Apparently private clinics simply carefully scan patients not to lose average where NHS don’t- hence much lower average. Not that they are worse in any way..... made me think.
I really don’t known what I would do..,

I’m fine. Doing pregnancy tests daily, as I still can’t believe. Nothing weird yet at all besided losing my temper at any opportunity 🐉
Eating carefully as not to gain weigh and still take in all necessary nutrition.
So scared that something will go wrong again as last time. If I’m totally honest I’m absolutely terrified!

BeHereNow31 · 24/02/2018 16:31

@fox23 will the Hospital do a blood test for you on Tuesday? Happy to hear things are going well for you. Do you have cramps? You hear of people feeling like their period is about to start, but I don’t... I did last time, and that didn’t work out!

@Ging78 how far along are you now? How are you feeling? Hope all good!

@Janefx40 what does your DP think you should do? My husband is better at making decisions that me!

Xx

Fox23 · 24/02/2018 17:28

@BeHereNow31 no, I only do at home test. Email them results and they book you in for a scan at 8weeks or so. Because of my ectopic last time don’t know if they will scan me earlier. Regarding AF type cramps...no, don’t have them, nor did I have last time. Only few painful pulling stabs on my left side (same as last time). I don’t really have any symptoms to be honest...
how about you?

Janefx40 · 24/02/2018 17:45

@Fox23 not surprised you feel nervous. I think we all just have to take IVF/pregnancy one day at a time. Today is a good day, you have positive tests...

I think we are both just waiting and thinking. There's no hurry as NHS appt will be in about a month and she said we can just cancel it if we change our mind (I was very honest with the doc although obviously I didn't say the other clinic might be better! I just said they knew me!) and we can't start any earlier with private clinic anyway so we have time to consider slowly.

@BeHereNow31 such a hard time but nearly there x

Ging78 · 24/02/2018 17:46

Fox you know you can pay to have early pregnancy reassurance scans. Where we see near se London there are loads dotted around. You can go from 6 weeks if your hospital is saying 8 weeks... that's way too long. We had one after my bleed at 7 weeks I day. We had our scan with the hospital at 6 weeks 4 days. Please consider an earlier scan.

18 weeks yesterday still so delighted and in disbelief even though the bump gets bigger every day. Hopefully it'll be all of you soon xxx

BeHereNow31 · 24/02/2018 17:54

@Fox23 thanks for that Smile sounds like things s are going well with your positive tests. I hope you are managing to rest and relax. Maybe the clinic will keep a closer eye on you, like Ging suggested? I get a blood test Tuesday morning. Then phone in the afternoon...
I did have a burning, prodding in my womb, in one area. Lower back pain. Today is just been the crying and sore head. I just need to go with the flow!

@janefx40 keep asking the nhs clinic questions, and hopefully that helps with your decision xx

BeHereNow31 · 24/02/2018 18:22

Im sorry for symptom spotting! I’ll stop now 😘

BeHereNow31 · 24/02/2018 18:33

And I didn’t reply to the bit about you being worried, Fox. My head isn’t with it tonight. This whole process is so worrying and scary, and you have been through a lot too. I would talk about worries with the hopital xx

Fox23 · 25/02/2018 19:29

@BeHereNow31 how are you feeling? Was your weekend lovely and active, to keep your mind off things ?
@Janefx40 darling, have you had any new thoughts regarding who you will chose?

BeHereNow31 · 25/02/2018 21:24

@Fox23 I’m ok. Been focusing on the house and buying/ getting things sorted in it. So, that was good to look forward to. My head has been hurting and I’m getting some back pain just now. Tomorrow is going to be quite hard, but got things to do.

How are you?? Are you managing to relax? Xx

BeHereNow31 · 25/02/2018 21:35

Think I’ll have a pamper day tomorrow 😉😉I’m so lucky to be in holiday this week too.

Hope everyone is doing ok

Janefx40 · 25/02/2018 22:05

@BeHereNow31 pamper day sounds lovely! Wish I could join you. 2 more sleeps

@Ging78 So lovely to hear things are progressing well for you! Must be good to have a bump.

@Fox23 Still not sure but we have a few weeks to decide so not putting myself under pressure. We have our follow up tomorrow at our clinic so that will be a good opportunity to ask questions and get a better understanding of what they would suggest going forwards. I'll also discuss NHS cycle with them - they're not short of patients so won't be competitive about it I don't think
