IVF Cycle Buddies August/September?

Anyone starting a cycle this month? I know there's a July/August thread, but seems that they've mostly all started on their cycles. I'm due to start DR tomorrow and if all goes well will have EC at the beginning of September.

Have not shared our IVF journey with too many people in IRL so would love to have a bit of company here. This will be our first go at IVF, so quite nervous at the mo!

@BeHereNow31 my FET will be on Friday, so chances are we will have it on the same day if you get day 3. I’m so excited, scared, worried, anxious, positive, negative etc etc etc such a roller coaster journey...
Of course, I’m blaming hormones and meds 😆 and the fact I’m having two transferred is just adding to my anxiety (in a sort of good way)
Will you have another to scan to confirm Tuesday, or is it decided already?

It’s confirmed. Trigger shot tomorrow. Hospital thinks I have a chance of OHSS. But really hope not, as that could delay transfer.

@BeHereNow31 eeek! So exciting. Trigger shot tomorrow. I think I had mild OHSS. Drink tons of water - it's basically the only thing you can do. They had me on 4 litres of water per day (plus 1 litre of milk). Fingers crossed your transfer doesn't get delayed.

I'm fine. No sign of period. This embie is clinging on but not really developing. Last home test I did was Friday and the same - faint but clear positive on FRER. Not progressing and not waning. But they are doing bloods on Monday so we will see where we are then.

Och, that’s a shame. I always just thought, once we got a positive result, that would be it. There’s is so much stress afterwards too 😞😞 hope things carry on soon xx

Don't worry @BeHereNow31 I didn't really have a positive result - we knew from the beginning it was only traces of hcg. When you get your BFP I'm sure it will be a real one!

I know it sounds crazy but drinking as much water as you can, is the best way to avoid OHSS.

I'm glad we have so much to look forward to this week. My period seems to be starting too so everything is moving forwards as it should xxx

@BeHereNow31 yes, I had to drink 3l and it was so difficult... was so bloated and in pain that last thing I wanted was water slushing around, but it was the best thing as it flushes out all meds and hot water bottle to make you feel better. What time is your EC?
@Janefx40 in a strange way, it’s better to know now than later that it wasn’t meant to be 🙁 less heartbreak later, as the further you get the more painful it is (I got to week 8...).
Do you know when you will start frozen cycle?

So, I had my last nasal spray yesterday. Today I started pessaries and keep taking pills. My mood swings have stabilised so that’s good (certainly for my hubby 😁)
I’ve lost over a stone now and I have nearly one more week before I stop. As of tomorrow I will stop all caffeine and turn 100% to healthy herby drinks. I don’t drink alcohol at all since Ivf journey started (over a year ago) so that’s not a problem at all 😁

@BeHereNow31 how did your trigger go?

Hi! Been sooo exhausted the last couple of days. Ok today, but nervous! More about the result then the actual process.. going to the hospital at 8, and ec is 10:30. Trigger was fine! Had to do during the night though, so was gutted to have to get out of my bed lol.

How are you two?? Is Transfer still Friday, fox?

Yes, I’m still due for Friday at 11.30. We actually booked long weekend away... that means we will have to take train into London and then out again back to our hotel. Much faster than driving 😁 today I also booked Monday off.

As for me, body is still playing silly buggers. Period has started but hcg has gone up to 80. So now they are confused about what is happening but want me to re start cyclogest which will mess me up more. My main worry is ectopic. No pain as yet (other than regular period pain) but have definitely been getting ovulation type twinges on left for about a week.

Ah well. We just have to keep an eye on it

I am stressing out that I haven’t been good enough with diet and vitamins 🙄 I know I should just relax and that the hormones are doing all their work. I think it’s normal to feel this way?!? Can’t wait to get this buy over with!

@BeHereNow31 don't worry, I'm sure you've been just fine. We are hyper aware because we're doing IVF but most women eat and drink totally normally/unhealthily and have no problems at all with their pregnancies.

Natural to worry tho

Jane is right, most women drink, smoke and eat bad stuff until they realise they are pregnant and all is ok. I have amended the most harmful habits - caffeine and calories, but not planning to go crazy!
@Janefx40 you are such a medical mystery woman! It’s like who’s done it novel - are you or are you not? On serious note tho- I’m glad you are letting things happen, whilst hoping for best 🤞💕 you are so strong to be going through this!

@BeHereNow31 so glad to hear all went well and definitely DONT order pizza! I did and God knows I suffered for days!!!! 😲😲 when will they call with how many fertilised?

Suppose I should stay away from heavy food? I phone tomorrow to see how many fertilised. I was sooo nervous before, but was sleeping in seconds lol.

Glad it went well. The phone call is nerve wracking I know.

I ate pizza that night and was in massive pain - was already bloating up post EC and the combo with the pizza was bad! When I read back through this thread the same thing had happened to someone on here!

Avoid anything that will bloat you.
