IVF Cycle Buddies August/September?

meadowlark3 · 02/08/2017 19:21

Anyone starting a cycle this month? I know there's a July/August thread, but seems that they've mostly all started on their cycles. I'm due to start DR tomorrow and if all goes well will have EC at the beginning of September.

Have not shared our IVF journey with too many people in IRL so would love to have a bit of company here. This will be our first go at IVF, so quite nervous at the mo!

Thanks fox and Scotslass.

We have our viability scan on the 5th Dec. Do not know how I will rest until that time. Trying not to worry about what could go wrong then. Just keeping hoping this is it.. 18 hard heartbreaking months later xx

Hope everyone else is good xx

Fox23 · 28/11/2017 19:11

Hello ladies!
@DaNica - massive congrats!
In life every babybomb hurts, as you know it’s so easy for most. But on this forum every baby bomb is a miracle that we are all excited about.
@Ging78- I’m so happy for you, next week your big day- your scan! Please let us know how it went! Can you remind how many attempts you had over these 18months?
@Scotslass01- how are you feeling darling? Do you feel like looking in the mirror constantly hoping it shows? 🙂 probably not, but somehow I think I would.

It was my Birthday last week, so me and my DH went away for a long weekend, as out wedding anniversary a month ago ended up with me being in hospital. So, amazingly my AF arrived as soon as we arrived in hotel. Bad timing 😳 but I was so excited that i didn’t even care. it was my best present! I’m now only 4weeks away from second attempt ... fingers crossed.
Love you all
Xxx

BeHereNow31 · 28/11/2017 19:27

How is everyone?

Good to hear that you got away, Fox. Do you phone the Hospital with your December period then? If yeah, our dates for starting will be very close. I’m trying not to too think about it too much, eitherwise I stress.
Hope you’re keeping ok xx

Ging78 · 28/11/2017 19:28

Hiya @Fox23 (I'm on my phone so now sure how to tag you)

Lovely to hear from you. Excellent news about af. Fingers crossed this is the one omigod do you deserve it now. And happy birthday too. Sounds like you guys had a lovely night away.

My stress levels are super high as the new kitchen is taking forever after many delays. My concern is the stress on the little one. Don't know whether to wail and cry or try to calm down.

My scan is 9am Tuesday. Time has never gone so slowly ever. The only thing I can do to reassure myself is poas every few days. The lines are getting darker each time and the clear blue digital one said 1 -2 weeks on otd and then 3+ a week later. So it looks like my hcg levels are increasing well.

This was our first frozen cycle. We'd been trying naturally up until August when we started our fresh cycle.

I'm so glad your next attempt is so close. I'll be around of you have any questions. Mine was the hrt protocol. Is yours? Xx

Ging78 · 28/11/2017 19:47

We must have been typing at the same time beherenow. Good luck to you too.

Start taking omega 3 and vitamin b3 too to get ready x

Fox23 · 28/11/2017 20:02

@BeHereNow31 and @Ging78 so nice to hear from you ladies!
I thought I had got my head around the IVF... until now. Seems like FET is totally different. So honestly, I have no idea on how it all works. All I was told before I was whisked away to hospital was - let us know on your first day of second AF. So I don’t know what protocols there are.
I just hope I start on approx... 19th 20th that’s providing my body doesnt have other ideas 🤔 what date is your @BeHereNow31 approx?
Weekend away was great, we went to seaside as I miss it (I grew up spending summers by the sea) and this time of year there are no kids, loud groups and annoying teenagers lol. Just sea, sand, seagulls and us. AF killed some fun, but I don’t care. AF beats it anytime. Sorry ladies 😳
@Ging78 - how was your process step by step? How long did it take? If you don’t mind?
X

Ging78 · 28/11/2017 20:14

Don't mind at all. I needed a scan on day 2 of af so called on day 1. I started taking progynova 2 times a day then too. I upped it to 3 times on day 6. I had another scan. They say day 12 to 14 but I think it was only day 10. As my lining was over 8 cm I started taking my cyclogest pessaries and 5 days later had my transfer. Then the 2ww.

Xx

BeHereNow31 · 28/11/2017 20:33

Ging, I thinking you need to cry, just let it out. Think it’s good for stress relief Wink

Fox, I will start round about the 20th, 21st. I’m another fresh cycle though. Argh. All those injections again! FET is a quicker process. I did get some side effects from the medication. Nothing too bad, but did feel a bit rough at first.

Weekend away sounded lovely x

Fox23 · 28/11/2017 20:35

@Ging78 - that’s only 15 days from start to finish? That seems like a dream! Did you have 1 or 2 transferred?
I suppose your kitchen helped with taking your mind off things. It can be stressful, but i suppose it’s great baby stress deterrent 😊
I’m taking the same vitamins I was taking during my short pregnancy, but they are all the right ones for this moment as well.
I think 2ww is such a cruel thing! It messes with your head. That’s something I’m not looking forward to at all! Lol
Xxx

Fox23 · 28/11/2017 20:42

@BeHereNow31 we must have typed at the same time! Can’t believe you have gone though all the injections again! That’s crazy!
I have my fingers crossed for you! Can’t believe we are starting the same time! 🤞
Did I say, that when I was in hospital, before the bad news, there was this couple, who came in for egg collection. They were getting their hospital gowns, when nurse asked if they need any help. The girl said- we know the drill, this is our 6th time here.... 6th!!! I just admired them so much... they must have had so many heartbreaks in between.
Good luck to us all 🤞🤞🤞

Ging78 · 30/11/2017 18:26

Hi Fox

We had just one transferred. We decided with our 5 to bunch them into 1 2 and 2. If this one didn't thaw I wanted them to thaw and transfer the next 2. But luckily this one was good to go.

The 2 week wait is an extreme form of torture. I convinced myself it hasn't worked this to so fell into a state of depression. But the end I was thinking without noticing properly those boobs just feel in the way... didn't register as didn't want false hope.

I think this wait to my initial scan is harder for me. There is so much at stake. Tuesday cannot come quick enough. Here's hoping all is good.

Have you been in touch with the hospital now? Xx

Fox23 · 30/11/2017 20:58

@Ging78 not long to go before your scan! Just try not to think about anything. Bad thoughts and stress will not make any difference.
You will be ok. As well as your little one 😊
It’s all just so exciting! Ging, justvrelax and have a lovely glass of red wine (that lovely alcohol free one).
I had 4 frozen, so I really think that 2+2 will be me. However doc may convince me otherwise.
I haven’t been in tough with hospital yet, as they said that I have to contact them on day one of my 2nd AF. So, I will. I have my countdown calculator downloaded and providing my body doesn’t have different ideas, countdown has begun! All I have to do now is lose about 5kg or a stone would be perfect. I gained a lot during my 7 weeks. I literally just looked at a burger, and gained few pounds. Now, it’s even worse, look at a salad leaf and lose nothing 😭 I’m not playing blame game, as weight yo-yo has always been my nemesis but this time it’s really though- I wonder if it’s all the hormones and tablets.

Ging78 · 01/12/2017 13:41

Fox my consultant told me to just call on day one of af. I called a few days earlier to check something and the nurses got into a panic about rushed cycles and doing a consultation before I started. They were encouraging be to put it back a month (can you imagine after counting the minutes until I could start again!!)

Give them a call in the next few weeks so that you are 100% sure they will be ready for you.

Remind me again how old you are. I'm 40 in March so they were happy to consider 2.

Try not to put yourself under too much pressure to lose oodles of weight. I think any little bit you could do would be great considering everything you've been through recently... including your hormones and drugs.

In a way the wait get easier as time goes on. Just really hope we get good news on Tuesday and i can start to get excited. I've never wanted anything as badly as this. I'm 6 weeks today and mostly feeling a bit hungry and nauseous at the same time. This is definitely new.

Hope everyone else is good.

Beherenow did you say you start soon? Injections again... at least you know what's ahead of you now. Did you take the gluthathione and zinc?

Xx

BeHereNow31 · 01/12/2017 15:03

Hi Ging. I’m the same as fox. Phone the Hospital on the first day of my period (due in about 3 weeks...). No, I haven’t. I’ve been taking seven seas trying for a baby (pregnacare one before), Omega 3, and co-q 10. Do you think I should be taking anything else? My diet has been hood recently . But I am going to eat and drink whatever I want over Xmas. Want to enjoy the month before it all starts!! 🙂
Hope you’re well, and managing to relax xx

Ging78 · 05/12/2017 20:53

Those supplements sound great. I know what you mean about eating and drinking over Christmas. Had a sneaky few drinks before my cycle and am glad now. Actually could not face an alcoholic drink now. I didn't think that would ever happen.

We had our viability scan today it was amazing. Baby is exactly where it should be at 6 weeks 4 days and we heard a strong beautiful heartbeat. We got a dvd to take away and I just keep watching it.

Hope you're all good xx

Fox23 · 15/12/2017 14:26

@Ging78 I’m so so happy about your scan! How are you feeling now? What’s new?
@BeHereNow31 how are things with you? Ready to start again?
@Scotslass01 how are you?? Does it show already? How are you feeling?
I have been so busy at work that I haven’t had time to think about IVF and it’s good. I must be only days away from my AF before I embark on round two 🤞 my diet has been... not good is the best I can say. Haven’t lost a pound! Not gaining anything is the good part.

BeHereNow31 · 15/12/2017 20:11

Hi fox. Period due in a week or so (it will be late, I’m sure lol). I am feeling ready to start again, but also anxious. How are you? You need to message as soon as you’re back at the hospital, since our dates are so close.

Lovely news Ging. Hope you and Scot are keeping well x

Janefx40 · 15/12/2017 22:30

Hello all,

About to start my first monitoring cycle so thought I'd say hello to some new IVF buddies. Hope it's ok to turn up as a newbie.

First appointment was today. Went better than expected - they all seemed pretty approachable. Need to make some decisions about immune tests but other than that, am just pleased to be handing it all over to someone else now.

Hope you're all having good weekends

X

Scotslass01 · 16/12/2017 14:21

Hi ladies,

It's good to hear @BeHereNow31 & @Fox23 you will be starting soon please keep us posted on how you are doing. I'm really really rooting for you both.

@Ging78 How are you keeping missus?

@Janefx40 Hello there, I wish you well. The whole process is a rollercoaster of emotions but it's worth it to achieve your goal.

All is going well with me. I'm now 13 + 5. I still can't quite believe it. We had our dating scan on Thursday, it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. My wee baba was just perfect. Was jumping about mad. I'm so happy. Roll on the 19th June.

X

Ging78 · 16/12/2017 14:48

Hi ladies

Fox so close now. Am so excited for you and have my fingers crossed!!!! Xx

Be here now one thing for sure it won't be on time this time. Never is when you need it to be. But so exciting to start again. Fingers crossed Xx

Scotslass sounds amazing. Our 12 week scan in the 17th January. Can't wait to tell people. We've told a few but haven't even told my ohs 18 year old son. He has requested another sibling so will be delighted.

Jane good luck with it all! Hope it goes well.

I must tell you what happened me last week. I went to the loo Saturday afternoon and there was a big lump of bright red blood. And it seemed to keep coming. I screamed for my oh and we called 111. We had to go out for his birthday drinks but I just felt sick. We found a scanning place in mitchem who gave us an appointment on Sunday and baby was perfect. No bleeding in my uterus and my cervix was still closed. The doctor on 111 had refereed be to the early pregnancy unit Monday so they also scanned. They said maybe implantation bleeding again. They didn't seem worried. I keep reading it can happen ivf babies. I'm still taking oestrogen to thicken my lining... I wonder if that's why. Apparently baby has little arms and legs now that it's moving so maybe just knocking off some lining. I spot now on and off and it still freaks me out even though I know it's probably fine.

Am meeting my midwife on Monday so can ask her about it then.

I really thought the worst it was awful!!!

Ging78 · 16/12/2017 14:50

I'm just over a month behind you Scotslass. Looking at 27th July at the moment Smile

BeHereNow31 · 28/12/2017 08:40

How is everyone getting on?? Hope you had a nice Xmas.
I’m going to the hospital tomorrow to collect my medication etc. So, that’s me soon to start again.
Picked up a million things to try and help thicken my lining this time (raspberry leaf tea, pomegranate juice 🙈🙈)
Good luck to everyone xx

Fox23 · 01/01/2018 12:42

Happy New Year ladies!
Regardless on the stage we are at I wish us all the best gift -BFP and healthy baby at the end of it all! I so hope by the end of the year we are all happy mums!
My period started on time 18th Dec and I contacted hospital straight away. Apparently you start FET process on day 21, so it’s all bit slower than I had hoped for.
I received my meds on 27th, and am starting buserelin spray on 7th- next week!!!!! On 22nd I have doc appointment for check up due to ectopic pregnancy and subsequent loss of my tube. It’s abit backwards to start meds before all clear, but they didn’t have earlier appointments available. I’m just glad that they suggested doing it little backwards rather than waiting extra month, as it doesn’t do any harm.
I got the bug during the holidays, so been feeling nauseous and weak for the past two weeks. Goods news? I didn’t eat my bodyweight in turkey 🦃 as most foods just kept coming back up.
So, I didn’t gain any weight but unfortunately didn’t lose any either. Now I have until 22nd to lose some weight, and get some new habits in place.
@BeHereNow31 how are things with you? What’s your next steps and what’s your schedule?
@Ging78 how did it go with Midwife? Did she explain what happened? How are you feeling now?
@Scotslass01- how are you my lovely? Have you told people your big secret yet?
@Janefx40- welcome!!!! Any news since your last post? How did doc appointment go?
@DanNica - how are things with you?
@meadowlark3- haven’t heard from you in ages? What’s happening with you these days?

Love you all lots and you all have been my rock during the crazy 2017 and without your support it would have been so so difficult. Thank you ladies, and I consider you all my friends, although I have never even met any of you
Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Scotslass01 · 01/01/2018 13:05

Hello all
Happy New Year. I hope 2018 is a tremendous year for all of us.

@Fox23 I'm so pleased to hear everything is moving again and treatment will soon be underway. I have everything crossed for you. You have had such a rollercoaster of a journey I really hope this is your time.

I am doing fine. I'm over the nausea thank goodness. Still feeling very drained and tired. I'm 16 weeks now. I still can't quite believe it. I have a wee bump now. It's all so amazing.

@Ging78 how are you keeping?

I would like to echo what Fox said, you kept me sane while going through my treatment. It was invaluable being in touch with ladies who were going through the same and understood.
I really meant what I said, I hope 2018 is the year we all get what we want so much.

Hugs x

BeHereNow31 · 01/01/2018 14:09

Good to hear from you fox. So, my period did come later than usual! You’re right, everything takes ages with ivf.
So, I am on the pill just now (which is making me very hormonal!), and I will start my injections on 19th January.

Good to hear that you are keeping well Scots. Enjoy every min of it ☺️ X
