IVF Cycle Buddies August/September?

meadowlark3 · 02/08/2017 19:21

Anyone starting a cycle this month? I know there's a July/August thread, but seems that they've mostly all started on their cycles. I'm due to start DR tomorrow and if all goes well will have EC at the beginning of September.

Have not shared our IVF journey with too many people in IRL so would love to have a bit of company here. This will be our first go at IVF, so quite nervous at the mo!

Great news fox, that's what I'd expect them to do. I was surprised they bothered taking blood from you, they should have scanned on Monday or today, there was no point in the check in hormone levels to be honest as you'd need two measurements done. I had an external scan at 8+5, but be prepared for an internal just in case enough detail doesn't show on external. Thinking of you tomorrow xx

Scotslass01 · 17/10/2017 17:20

Awww great all sounds good. Phew, so glad they are getting you in for a scan. That will reassure you and set your mind at ease. Please keep us posted.

So girls, I'm still in shock a bit. How long did it take you to feel symptoms? I know I'm still very early but aside from my sensitive boobs and some cramping I don't feel any different

X

Fox23 · 18/10/2017 05:50

Morning girls, had a night from hell... cramps from out of this world. It was so painful I actually didn't care about anything anymore just wanted it to stop. To be fair it could have been trapped air, but of course, I'm not naive and it could have been something much worse... I'm ok now, tired and sleepy. At least no bleeding, that's a good sign anyway. It really seems that there is something stressful happening with me everyday... but I suppose it's just a part of this journey. Fingers crossed it was just an innocent gas bubble ☺️
Scotslass- agree, no symptoms at here as well, except for sore boobs and cramping, no morning sickness at all (last few days not included).
Scotsgirl- I agree about the scan besides, if they were reluctant to bring it forward day before, why do it after blood test and say results are good? I trust their judgment just wondering what the logic is

Fox23 · 18/10/2017 13:42

So, in hospital at the moment. Not good news I’m afraid. I have ectopic pregnancy 😔 they will operate shortly, but the saddest bit was I actually saw the little heartbeat.. and it will be over soon. This really is so heartbreaking

Scottishgirl85 · 18/10/2017 14:55

OP posts:
Fox23 · 19/10/2017 09:57

I only have to wait two, so chances are we will be in the same thread, depending on when my AF arrives. Still in hospital but will be able to leave today. Thank you all for kind words and support, this really is the best bunch I could ever wish for ☺️

Ladies - sorry I stepped back for a few weeks (also been on holiday) - fox so sorry to have seen what’s happened - thinking of you and sending you lots of love xx

Fox23 · 19/10/2017 20:31

I suppose it will be Dec/jan for me as well realistically... anybody knows how the process differ with FET?

meadowlark3 · 19/10/2017 23:03

Fox I believe it's a bit easier with the FET as you don't have to stim the ovaries. So a trigger to ensure you ovulate and progesterone. Your clinic might also want to put you on meds to down regulate again. I was told we would likely do "natural FET" so no meds but trigger and pessaries. Do you have a follow up with your clinic booked? Hope you are feeling alright after operation. X

Ging78 · 19/10/2017 23:24

I hope everyone is doing well.

Fox i hope you and your dh are ok.

I was told 2 months before we can start the frozen cycle so I've had the af after I stopped the progesterone and am waiting for the next one to start, possibly in about 5 days. My consultant has also sent me for a blood test for nk killer cells. If that shows up I'll have to take steroids too. I suffer from endometriosis and psoriasis so wonder if thats an issue.

Depending on when af starts I might miss a trip to my family in Ireland. They need to see me for scan between day 2 and 4 and so I might have to cancel the trip next week but could not wait another month. Af has a tendency to arrive at the worst time so am sure it'll be Tues or Wed and I'll have to cancel my trip.

I've also found a new acupuncturist who I like better. I've also started taking omega 3 as recommended by my consultant.

You have to just keep going dont you? Am trying to look forward and focus on my frozen cycle.

meadowlark3 · 20/10/2017 15:46

Ging, glad to hear from you. Glad you are moving forward even if it means missing a family trip. It's rubbish, I wish we could just shag and discover we were pregnant like everyone else! How is your kitchen coming along and when will you have your blood test results? X

Scotslass01 · 20/10/2017 15:59

Meadow, Emma & Ging so so so nice to hear from you.

Ging glad to hear you are starting again soon. You are right just need to keep going. When you reach your goal it will all be with it.

Meadow I don't know how many times I've said that! Ha.

BeHere Dec/Jan will be here before you know it

X

Ging78 · 20/10/2017 16:56

Meadowlark I know I am just so jealous of the people who shag and then just pregnant. Wouldn't that just be amazing? Hopefully all this stuff will be worth it soon.

We went for the blood test last Friday and their machine broke so we're going again Tuesday. There seems to be loads of little things that are making this a bumpy start. One of the nurses encouraged me to wait until next month as they werent expecting me and my consultant is off. It seemed like a battle to get booked in for a nurse consultation. Then today had light spotting so paniced that ad would come tomorrow so I'd need scan Monday.

I think it's all sorted to start next week and the blood test results should also come next week.

I spoke to one of the embrologists yesterday to clarify. Success rates per blastocyst are between 40 and 50. So fingers crossed for one of the frozen ones for all of us.

Hope everyone is good and ready for the weekend.

So are you starting next month meadowlark? Are any of the rest of you trying frozen cycles soon?

Scots lass how are you feeling?do you know when your first scan is?

The kitchen arrived today and is meant to start on the 14th November. Hopefully right in my 2 week wait to distract me.

Xx

Scotslass01 · 20/10/2017 18:05

Hey meadow,
Sounds like it's full steam ahead. That's great.
I'm feeling fine. Aside from sore boobs and bloating I don't feel any different.
I have my can on 6th November. I will be so glad to know all is ok. I am officially 5 weeks today.
I've had my hGC checked twice and all was fine there.

meadowlark3 · 21/10/2017 12:18

Hi Scots, Fab that you're feeling so well! Sore boobs are a good sign and even better are good bloods. Fingers crossed for your scan, do let us know how you get on.

Ging, glad you're moving forward even with some bumps along the way. I try to remind myself it is a marathon and not a sprint. We had the same 40-50% figure so I'm hopeful that our chance will be improved with the FET and having the stims out of my system. Will you down regulate for FET? We were told we could do "natural" which is appealing to me. We are waiting a few months to start, consultant referred me for hysteroscopy because of light periods since miscarriage and some spotting before and after. Hopefully won't find anything but if we do, hope it's something that can be fixed. A bit disappointed for another Christmas without a baby but I reckon not much else to do. (Besides wish for a surprise BFP!)

Sending good thoughts to all. X

Hi Fox. How aren’t you feeling?

This is how my FET went...

On day 21 of my cycle, I got an injection to stop my ovulation. (Suppose it like down regg, but just one injection). Then around a week later I took three oestrogen tablets a day. You then get a scan 2 weeks later to see if you lining is thickening. I had to continue the tablets for another week.
Then, 5 days before your transfer, you take progesterone pesseries, twice a day. And keep taking the tablets and pesseries until test date.

Wishing you all the best. I think FET is an easier process on your body. But it’s still just as emotional. So take care. Xx
