Hi all! I know there's a June/July thread but I've started this one as I'm so far behind everyone else and wanted to find others at the same stage as me!

We're due to start a FET after a failed fresh cycle in march resulted in a CP. We got 5 Frosties which I'm so pleased with and we're putting two frozen ones back this time.

AF came yesterday, so I'm booked in for scratch on 24th of this month and start DR on 22nd.

I joined a thread on my last cycle and it helped me so much as I am very private with all of this. So I'm hoping to find others to share with again 😊

I just read back, I'm a riot today, sorry u had a scan oops xxx

ChoChang · 18/08/2017 17:52

Biscuit the lining sounds great and good to have a transfer date for sure, youve had a long wait so good to have something to focus on. Interesting what your nurse said - if only they could figure out a way to find out which are the stickers!

leanne i totally get the anxiety youre having. Im an early tester but thats because i cant stand not knowing whats going on, even if i dont get the news i want. My logic is that if you test early and its negative, theres always a chance it could still go positive over the following days, but if it doesnt at least im kind of prepared as ive already had a neg test. Probably stupid but thats how i deal with it. Only you can decide whats right for you so if you dont feel ready to do it then just wait for your clinic date. Hope youre doing something nice this weekend to take your mind off it Flowers

Whatamuddleduck · 18/08/2017 18:21

Yay floofles! They are growing!

Good news on the date for ET biscuit!

Leanne I know the feeling. I can't help but test early but I totally get the fear of knowing the result. You don't have to test, the result is the result no matter what you do now. Maybe one day at a time and see how you feel.

Gamblers I'm with you on the big stomachs. I'm so bloated!

I'm taking the pegesterone gel each morning. Each morning I have massive boobs, but they go down slightly across the day. Should I worry about that? Am I taking enough progesterone? My clinic don't blood test so I don't know what my levels are. I can't ring them out of hours to report deflating boobs!

ChoChang · 18/08/2017 18:25

Duck i have no idea on the answer but am howling at your deflating boobs!

Leanne1185 · 18/08/2017 18:35

This chat always helps 😂😂😂😂

chivintassle · 18/08/2017 18:50

floof great news to get some response! Slow and steady wins the race?!
leanne do what's right for you. I just new last time, literally felt like a switch was flicked one day as the test was just to prove, tested (bfn) then AF arrived the next day. I'm sure you'll be good esp if you haven't felt the switch!!. Test when ready!

AFM. Nightmare day. Went in for scan today (day9) and there is 1, yes one, that is 11 and then maybe 1 or 2 that are like 5mm. So might cancel the cycle. I asked for a dr and not just the nurse. He then came and said a few options and I was quite firm and said I work in financial advisory where clients pay me to advise them. I've paid £8k so far, so advise me!! I said I am paying for advice so tell me what to do!! I went specifically to this dr to help me. So the upshot is I have all the drugs now, so continue to inject until Monday, rescan and take a view then. Apparently the most ££ bit is EC, ICSI and freezing, so only marginal cost to date.. £1,800 on drugs marginal?!
I asked why gone from 7 eggs to 1 in space of 3 months and he didn't know. I asked if it was the pill starting the cycle and he said maybe. Seriously I reckon I could do this!!
So a very angry (at them and my body) chivin today. Rant over (maybe)

ChoChang · 18/08/2017 19:06

What a nightmare chivin, im glad you put your foot down and forced them to come and advise you, but it doesnt really seem like they had any answers for you which is so disappointing.

£1800 marginal, i dont think so! I know its an expensive business in total but they should be wise to the fact that its a hell of a lot of money to most people and not be flippant about 'marginal' costs. Id have been mad too.

I hope mondays scan brings better news for you and you at least get some good growth on the ones you have. Take care of yourself and try and relax - easier said than done i know, big hugs xx

chivintassle · 18/08/2017 19:26

Thanks cho I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get a full refund on the costs to date either. If it is cancelled I'll do another round with them to see if I can recoup some of the ££ already paid. I'm not convinced though. But on the plus side, I get to do at least 3 days of 3 injections 😂 Got to laugh else...!!

thegamblersmrs · 18/08/2017 19:49

Aw chivin that's pretty crap news for you today but I've got faith they might catch up. I take it they won't do ec for one? But that might be the one!
Was it yourself who was going to put in complaint?

Anyone else nervous about our full thread?

chivintassle · 18/08/2017 20:00

Thanks gamblers they will do EC for one, but it's EC and ICSI that's the really expensive part, so cutting loses. Plus if you were going to do that, might as well bin the meds and do a normal month!!
And the irony is we've paid c£1k to freeze DH's contribution (when you add in annual storage fee, even though was going to use them next week!) and if this cycle is canned then he'll be home for the next cycle!! So can use fresh!! 😂😂(😡😢)

Missmeluk · 18/08/2017 21:31

So scan went well today my lining is just over 12 so they're happy with that the nurse said "a lovely environment for our embryos" bless.

OH scan was ok plenty of follicles and they're growing ranging from 8-15 at the min so few more days of stims then another scan on Monday and hopefully EC mid to end of next week.

I don't think I'd be able to test before the 2 weeks as I want to hold on to the positive for as long as possible. Some good news from scans today and it really does make me laugh when I see comments about "marginal" costs for those of us self funding it's a nightmare. The clinic said we may need a few more stims depending on mondays scan and then oh don't worry you can buy them direct from us yeh like it's just loose change down the back of the sofa!!!

Hope you all have a good weekend more updates next week.

Leanne1185 · 19/08/2017 09:04

Well I tried to test and just couldn't bring myself to do it...1 more day at least in my PUPO bubble! Iv got an achy left side, either my ovaries still going down or af coming 😫

Lola84 · 19/08/2017 09:13

@leanne1185. When is your test date? I want to do a home test but my official test date should not be until Friday.

Leanne1185 · 19/08/2017 09:51

My test date is Tuesday...terrified x

thirtyplusone · 19/08/2017 10:00

Hello!

Gamblers Floof, sounds like things are going well! Im sure you'll keep growing, mine went wild in the last 2 days.

Sounds tough Chivin, hope you're doing OK today.
Hi Lola! Good luck with the waiting, fingers crossed for you!

Fingers crossed for you Leanna, stay strong!!

Exciting news Biscuit!

So yesterday I finally had my egg collection wohooo! Felt like Id never get there. 42 follicles collected, 35 fertilised and 26 are going in the deep freeze today! No embryo transfer for us unfortunately, they want me to wait a cycle to recover but I'm quietly happy about having a month off. We had to go for ICSI in the end as OHs little guys weren't all that athletic. Very pleased with the results :)

I do have one question, when they thaw them do they take all 26 out the freezer? I hope not. I dont want to do all this again. Need some back up plans for another time.

chivintassle · 19/08/2017 10:23

thirty that's great news. I think they just defrost the number you need. Did they freeze yours straight after fertilisation then? Not wait till day 4 or 5? Maybe they'll take a few out then, see which get to blasto to transfer? All clinics seem to do things differently. But I highly doubt they'll take them all out, they are your back up!! Fantastic numbers 😀
leanne don't let it stress you. Do it when you're ready. Last time I waited until OTD as I couldn't bear the potential false positive. Just have a nice weekend 😘

thegamblersmrs · 19/08/2017 10:28

Thirty wow! That's a lot. Good news that they have 26. No idea how they take them out. Would imagine they would do one at a time. Enjoy your month off and getting your body prepared. Please keep in touch.

Leanne Tuesday will feel like a lifetime away. I have everything crossed.

Scan this morning, 2 17's 2 16's some 15,14 and I think about 5 13's. waiting to hear when to take booster and ec date. They will phone this afternoon!
Does the weird bloated popped out belly disappear after ec not that I'll notice with my normal layer of flab ?

ChoChang · 19/08/2017 10:36

Ah thats an amazing number to get thirty, congrats! Not surprised your body needs a rest before having any put back!

No they wont take them all out at once, each clinic will be different but id guess theyd take out a couple/few. I presume with them being frozen on day 2 they'd defrost then allow them to develop for a day or two then select the best one? Is that how it works? My only fet was of a day 6 embie so not sure about the process for early freezing.

MelbourneClown03 · 19/08/2017 10:38

@thegamblersmrs Yes, the popped out belly does go down. DP was a bit surprised by how pregnant I looked the morning of EC. I asked if he's ever seen a scrawny hen lay good eggs? It was a good sign

@thirtyplusone Wow you have a lot of embryos Shock Great stuff. Have they grown them on a few days or sent them straight to the freezer?

ChoChang · 19/08/2017 10:38

Cross posted with you there gamblers. Thats good progress, good work follies! EC imminent for you now!

chivintassle · 19/08/2017 10:42

gamblers that's great news.

I think re someone post yesterday, can't scroll back on phone when already writing... I think when they get to a certain size (sounds like 17 is the magic number) they are mature and good to be fertilised. I think they try and get the eggs out of smaller follies, but they tend to be immature and not ready for fertilising. So think it's a balance between getting as many mature as possible without the largest one getting too big (don't know what happens to that one if it does!) I think they drain all the follies that are there regardless of size so your cycle has happened and you've ovulated. If they miss one and the chemicals aren't there to tell it to release the egg, I think it turns into a cyst.
(Did anyone else see the program where they 'released the hounds ' I keep thinking of that when they talk about triggering to (not) release the eggs 😂😂)

Leanne1185 · 19/08/2017 11:05

Tuesday doesn't actually seem far away I wish it was further 😂😂
Brilliant news gamblers woohoo!!
Thirty that's amazing!! I really hope u enjoy the wee break, go eat some pate and have a wee cheeky glass of wine 😂

thirtyplusone · 19/08/2017 11:27

Pate! Yes! How I've missed it.

Embryologist said they freeze today then thaw and allow 2-6 days to get to blastocyst. Funny how everyone does it differently.

Gamblers I look a little less bloated today but my trigger injection 'slowed down' my digestive system shall we say so I'm uncomfortable from that more than anything I think 😕 GA drugs have made it worse I think!

My clinic wanted to get mine to 20 but I know I had a range 17-21. No way all mine would have reached 20 by my collection.

I won't miss the injections but my boobs have been looking 10/10 recently 🤣 Please stay!

thegamblersmrs · 19/08/2017 12:29

Crap should we not be eating pate just now? I thought that was just if it worked. I've not eaten any but you gave me a hankering for it!

Clinic phoned, normal injection today back in for another scan tomorrow and ec Tuesday or wed. Really hope it's Tuesday, feel I'm drowning in injections and the dates being moved further and further. Going insane not exercising!

BiscuitBill · 19/08/2017 12:39

Chivin sonsorry you had a crappy day yesterday.. Go you for giving them what for though! As a fellow self funder I can completely understand your anger at them calling your £1,700 'marginal' 😤 bloody idiots!
Thirty that's great news and an amazing number of follies! Not sure how it would work with yours being put straight back, mine got froze on day 5, so they'll be thawing 2 on Thursday (apparently it takes about an hour). They are not guaranteed to make it through the thaw process though, so I told them just to keep thawing till they get 2 good ones.. Hopefully they don't use all 5 😑
Gamblers your follies sound like they're growing nicely! Did they give you a EC date? Sorry if you've already said. My belly took a few days to go down last time, it's not like popping a balloon lol!
