IVF Cycle Buddies July/August

Hi all! I know there's a June/July thread but I've started this one as I'm so far behind everyone else and wanted to find others at the same stage as me!

We're due to start a FET after a failed fresh cycle in march resulted in a CP. We got 5 Frosties which I'm so pleased with and we're putting two frozen ones back this time.

AF came yesterday, so I'm booked in for scratch on 24th of this month and start DR on 22nd.

I joined a thread on my last cycle and it helped me so much as I am very private with all of this. So I'm hoping to find others to share with again 😊

Totally agree re the scans gamblers, my DH sat the other side of the curtain every time and so although it was nice to have the support he really needn't have missed work so much. How did it go today?

I'm sooo anxious at the moment and I'm not really sure how to get round it. I keep telling myself that this won't change the outcome but it's constantly on my mind, I know it would've been the same had I not tested but still....I feel like someone's going to pull the rug out from under me. The test was even stronger this morning (when I did it at 4.30am like a crazy lady) but still can't believe it. I'm thinking about asking for a blood test on Friday which will be exactly 4 weeks, instead of waiting until next week week. I'll have to fess up that I went against their strict instructions but at least I'll get a slightly more concrete answer.

Gamblers it sounds like your follies are growing nicely, fingers crossed for some juicy 17s on Friday! I also go on my own to appointments a lot, with OH being based down south. But he really doesn't need to be at all of them anyway, like cho said, as long as he's there for EC & ET he can do what he wants the rest of the lol!
Twinges are good cho, definite sign of something going off down there!

So had a call from the clinic to say OH has got to go back in with me on Friday for another scan. Fingers crossed they've grown and we will get an EC date!!

That's how bad my word finding difficulties are... I didn't finish my post. The drugs apparently can mess with your head. Mental!

Crying that must be tough. How long has it been? It's understandable that you are finding it hard to take in. You just need to find a balance.

Hi all, just caught up! First day back at work today and ooft u actually haven't thought about this once today which was quite nice actually but now I'm home chilling all the feelings come flooding back 😂 Iv had a few ovary twinges today and a tiny bit of back ache but that's it!
Mel it sounds promising that things r moving on now woohoo!!

That's good Leanne that you've been distracted.

As my work is so physical the clinic advised that I can't do my normal duties. I'm struggling with that but at least it's only for a few days.

Sorry I haven't replied in what seems like days - I've been having a right pity party!
I was upped to 150 (double what I started on) on Monday and rescanned today - and nothing really is happening! Just the one big follicle now at 22mm and the rest under 10 still. The nurses aren't too worried per second, and say this can happen with pco - but it's been really affecting my whole perception of everything. I'm not even looking to EC now in my head, just waiting for them to find the dose I respond to and then to decide the one is too big and they need to stop and cancel the cycle!
I'm now on 200 so I really should respond, but my guess is the chance of ohss is rapidly going up too .
My main fear is that they'll collect one egg, it won't fertilise, I won't have any frosties and round two will have to be self funded. Which I can't afford until we remortgage in 18months time. Obviously that's a chance anyway, but I was really hoping I'd have some frosties from the NHS round and that's looking increasing unlikely so I'm just really sad!
This whole thing sucks and I have so much respect for those of you on round 2+!
It really cheers me up to read that other people are having more success though! This board keeps me sane!

Aw floo fingers crossed that the 10's will make it. I've a few 10's as well so I'm praying for both of us. 22 sounds big. I take it it's only one funded round where you are?

Guys is it paraceya we are allowed to take? I'm Stressing. I feel really sore from one side. The doors at work are very heavy and hoping I've not twisted too much. Want to take a pain relief in the hope that it'll calm down and I can stop stressing.

Ps floo you're doing so well, you've got so much strength to deal with everything until now. Keep on doing what you're doing. You're bundle is waiting for you. Firmly believe the babies pick the mummy. Might be daft but keeps me going.

Oh floofles- as though the path to here wasn't hard enough already. I'm really sorry that you are going through this. I really hope that some of your little follicles get a shift on. But it can work with one if that's what has happened. All is most definitely not lost. All you can do is keep taking the medical advice and keep looking after yourself. You are already giving your eggs the best possible chance, it's up to them and the drugs to get their act together!

gamblers glad the scan went well and things are progressing nicely, and good that theyve taken you off heavy duties at work - this is priority!

mel also sounds like things are on track with you too, must be doubly hard to try and coordiante it all with your OH but it sounds like its going to plan👍

crying you are in one of the most anxious bits now i think. Its so good to get a bfp but youre desperate for the time to pass quickly to early scan. Sounds like youre going to get a blood test soonish so that should hopefully help you.

leanne glad work was a distraction for you, im the same in that i dont get to think about it much at work (except for constantly needing to get up to refill my water bottle!) but in the evenings and on my non work days i constantly think about it!

floof i am totally feeling for you . I dont know what I can say other than i hope the 200 dose gets them 10s growing and then you can get EC done with a few eggs. Even if you end up not having ET this time and freezing instead it would be worth it to get some frosties. I have everything crossed for you.

Started my cetrotide today and got scan in the morning. Hoping AF will have made an exit by then

Nothing to report from me.. have another scan on Friday to check the thickness of my lining then hopefully back next thurs for transfer!

Crying what happens now you have your BFP? Will you have blood test to confirm? Take a picture so we can see that lovely pink line 😊

Youll have to look at what strength trigger injection you had to work out when it will be out of your system leanne, or you wont know if any positive you get is a trace of the trigger injection or a real bfp. Have a google it should tell you the numbers. Here's hoping you can make it 3 out of 3!

Thanks for the advice cho, I did my trigger shot 11 days ago and when asked for my IUIs they said it would be out in a week so I know that's out my system! I'm only 4 dpt so I might do one on Saturday at 7dpt and see! If it's negative there will still be hope at that point but if it's positive it'll be great! I'm really not feeling it all though Iv kind of talked myself into the fact that this hasn't worked...I'm not that lucky 😫

Hi ladies, I'm still here, just been having a bit of a mare! And major pity party 🎉
In no particular order and apologies for no names!
Congratulations to those BFP's such great news! Girls in my previous round did the tests that said 1-2weeks etc, so they could see it moving to 2-3weeks. Think that helped in the wait for scans/bloods.
Re water, I was told no baths/swimming for 3 weeks after EC. They puncture you to get the eggs 🍳 and it takes that long to reseal, so risk of infection is higher.
Re heat, loads of girls were hot water bottling to help follies grow before EC, and then not after. No heat or cold after ET.

Can't remember anything thing else outstanding or needed specific comment on where I might be able to add value!

The one thing I have learned over my previous cycle and this one is that we are all different and our bodies do what the hell they like!! I got 8 eggs last time, with 1 transfer on day 2. Had my day 5 scan on Tuesday and looks like I'll be lucky if there's 3 follies there 😢So gutted. Plus DH has just flown away to work, did his part and that's frozen and waiting. So he won't even be here for EC. Plus mum is away on hols, so I'll be on my own 😢. I'm not even sure if we'll get any to blasto stage, so I might be looking at an empty test tube 😢. I'm on 300 bemfola and 150 manopur, so think I'm on the most and getting the least. To top it off I've had a migraine for all weekend and now headache that can't shift, oh and missed a acupuncture appointment costing £100, so on the whole I should be making the rest of you feel better 😂
Fingers crossed for secret follies that were hiding behind my 'active bowel' (I blame the co-codamol!!) on next scan!!
I'll try and stay up to date now. I'm so proud that everyone else seems to be doing so well , and coping if they fear they're not doing so well .

I had a cry today as starting to worry that if it doesn't work how can we try again (we're self funding and even though may only need FET next time still money we haven't put aside!)

I know, so much stims drugs! 1 pen, 1 mixing injection and 1 buserelin injection! 3 a night although only 1 of them seems to bruise!!

Sounds like you can test whenever you like then leanne, no danger of false bfp! Youre doing very well resisting so far, I would have caved by now!

Chivin, sorry your scan didnt show what you wanted, but like you say there might be some hidden away especially if theyre only little at day 5. Sorry youre not going to have your DH or mum there for EC, have you got any friends that know about the treatment that could go with you? Whens your next scan? Hope your migrane eases up soon x

Be careful with bfp as left over from the trigger, think different people keep it in their system for longer. Think some did test straight away to see if P or N , then used that as base to see if trigger gone for later tests!

Thanks for advice guys Iv just had a wobble but I know I'll wake up tomo and will feel stronger about holding off I'm sure! Truth is im too scared to do it it's not me being brave waiting it's the fear 😬😬

I don't think I'll be tempted to test for most of the 2ww as I'll treat it the same as ever other 2ww we've had for last 3 years. It'll be the 1-2 days before test date that will drive me daft.
