Hi all! I know there's a June/July thread but I've started this one as I'm so far behind everyone else and wanted to find others at the same stage as me!

We're due to start a FET after a failed fresh cycle in march resulted in a CP. We got 5 Frosties which I'm so pleased with and we're putting two frozen ones back this time.

AF came yesterday, so I'm booked in for scratch on 24th of this month and start DR on 22nd.

I joined a thread on my last cycle and it helped me so much as I am very private with all of this. So I'm hoping to find others to share with again 😊

Wow crying that's amazing news! How many days past transfer are you? 2nd BFP and counting!
Thirty & Floof so sorry you're going through this 😔 I can only imagine how frustrated you must be feeling! Just focus on getting those follies growing, your time will come! Sending lots of hugs x x

gamblers my first scan will be on day 6, then ill have another day 10. I think it would have been day 9 if it wasnt a sunday.

My clinic doesnt do any blood monitoring at all, even if i get a bfp they dont check hcg levels, just do a clearblue on test date and then thats it til scan at 7 weeks. Is that normal? Just reading your post clown and thinking mine would never know if progesterone was too low etc. Glad you had some meds left over from last cycle to get straight on it - they sound on top of things so hopefully all will be fine.

thegamblersmrs · 14/08/2017 21:40

Think that's the same as mine cho. After et they don't come near, I just have to phone in with results either way.
Are you nhs? I think the private guys get a bit more monitoring?

BiscuitBill · 14/08/2017 21:53

I had to go for bloods on day 12 last time.. and it's a good job I did as my BFP turned out to be a CP!

ChoChang · 14/08/2017 21:54

Yeah Im nhs. Thanks, that makes me feel a bit better gamblers!

MelbourneClown03 · 14/08/2017 21:59

On my last cycles on the NHS, they did the FET then tested my blood 6 days post transfer for Progesterone levels. I think they're giving me extra blood tests as yes, we're having to fund this cycle so the cynical side of me says they're bleeding us dry but I'm not going to quibble at this point. I'm also wondering if my previous mmc and then failed implantation the second time may be pointing towards me being prone to shit bad absorption of progesterone Hmm

MelbourneClown03 · 14/08/2017 22:02

Posted too soon!

Hence the extra monitoring via bloods.

ChoChang · 14/08/2017 22:08

Thanks ladies. I think i might ask about it this time, although i know its not normal procedure at my clinic. Like you clown i have hisory of CP's, MMCs and a failed FET so i really want to try everything this cycle.

Leanne1185 · 14/08/2017 22:09

I still find it totally amazing that before going for ivf I just thought it was the exact same for everyone and every clinic, everyone is on completely different protocols! After ET I don't hear from my clinic till day 9 for a pregnancy bloods apart from them calling yesterday about Frosties! I quite like it that way as I'm trying to stay disconnected from it as much as possible! My boobs are honestly huge and sore (much to my hubby's enjoyment). This progesterone is unfair it's making me feel hopeful 😫
Clown I felt like that about our clinic too but, like U, just have to trust that their not and just go with it xxx

thegamblersmrs · 14/08/2017 22:28

Cho I'm nhs too and first time and wondering if they do the minimal first time round.

I'm not sure I really understand chemical pregnancy?

ChoChang · 14/08/2017 23:16

You may be on to something there gamblers, they seem much more open to things ive requested this time around.

CP is an early mc that happens before anything would be able to be detected on an early scan -typically pre 6 weeks-ish. So you would only know you were preg through a bfp or blood test.

Leanne yes its so difficult to know whether youre having real pg symptoms or if its just the progesterone isnt it! Another thing we have to deal with that most people dont!

Whatamuddleduck · 15/08/2017 06:08

Gamblers- my first scan was day 10. After et I just poas on day 14 and that's it until a 7 week scan if bfp. I feel quite unmonitored! However they tell me they only scan more often on stims for women with pcos or a history of under/over responding. I'm a bit worried about the lack of blood tests to check progesterone levels due to previous mc's but partly I have developed big boobs (so the evil gel must be doing something?) and partly the clinic seem to manage to make babies quite often and so presumably know what they are doing.
It's quite scary all this variety in protocols isn't it!

thegamblersmrs · 15/08/2017 06:58

Duck that's the same as me. I'm more reassured now!
Cho thanks for explaining. I just couldn't figure out what the difference between cp and mc were. I'd heard someone say about a phantom pregnancy before so was thinking cp was that. God there's so much to take in.
Dreading today's stim. I feel bigger and more restricted with everyone one. I'm useless in work as I can't do anything heavy as I feel I've got a constant stitch that will rip if I move the wrong way. On a positive note it's still no where near as grim as I imagined the whole experience to be and you guys totally help!

Nowwhyareyoucrying · 15/08/2017 07:17

Thirty im so sorry to hear it not going exactly to plan, at least they are foreword planning and hopefully the new drugs will kick start things. I've also heard lots of evidence that a FET is sometimes better than fresh, gets better results in many situations, some clinics are running trials with the suggestion that everyone should do it. Don't worry you will get there! *
*
How are you feeling today floof?

Yeah I think most clinics pretty much Leah enough after ET Cho, then get you in for bloods after a positive. Or you would call and discuss the next steps if not (but that WONT happen).
*
Leanne big boobs sounds good! The progesterone isn't fun but that's still a good sign!! I have complete respect for you and gamblers not testing until you've been told.

Clown* hope you had a good weekend away! Lucky you had some lubion left over, and very funny that you abandoned your mates, do they know why?

I'm only 6dp5dt today but I think the line is darker, we haven't told anyone yet (which I killing me as I really want to tell my mum) but will probably wait until Sunday which will be 11dp5dt if it's still sticking. My clinic gave us Sunday as a test date and then said If bfp I will have a blood test next week. Not sure about progesterone testing though!? I feel really mixed and can't relax at all. I felt crap yesterday, sick, bloated, crampy...in a way I hope I start to feel better and in a way I want to feel 'something' so it's more real.

thegamblersmrs · 15/08/2017 07:25

Crying that all sounds very positive, I've got everything crossed for you. Know what you mean about telling your mum. I would have given my mum a running commentary every night on the phone and no way could I have not told her every little detail that was preying on my mind. I'm quite lucky in a way I can still tell her everything, just don't get to hear the response.
Thirty I've heard the same re FET my embryologist had said they have a better success rate. I think it's only the thawing process that's the risk. I guess that's what stops clinics going straight for FET.

Anyone else think they could be an embryologist after this? 😂

Leanne1185 · 15/08/2017 13:26

Haha Gamblers I did a human biology course at uni before teaching and find it bloody fascinating how it all works! I also feel I could be a sonographer 😂😂 I'm gutting my house today before going back to work and walked the dog for two hours this morning, keeping busy is the aim of the game! I don't feel any different at all today, boobs don't hurt anymore and far too ok lol! A week today and I'll b out by misery...unless I cave by then! whrb is the earliest u can do a HPT does anyone know? X

thegamblersmrs · 15/08/2017 15:38

We can start out on MDT!
When I was applying for uni I applied to do radiography. You chose diagnostic or therapeutic. I didn't want to do either but knew I wanted to work in healthcare and had another space on my ucas form. I chose therapeutic as I thought it sounded nicer! I had no bloody clue that it was giving radiotherapy as treatment. Bloody glad I didn't get in!

ChoChang · 15/08/2017 21:10

Glad your line is getting darker crying thats great news, but sorry youre feeling rough. Hope youve had a better day.

How are you doing today thirty and floof? Hope the change in drugs today has done something thirty.

Whens your scan gamblers? I know you said its 7 days after starting stims but not sure when that makes it?

Hope everyones had a good day. Im having some mild twinges every now and then on my left side (right ovary is lazy af!) and feeling bloated, so im hoping that means the stims are doing something!

thegamblersmrs · 15/08/2017 21:50

It's tomorrow cho. I'm going on my own as it's in my work and don't see the point in DP missing work. Think the clinic finds it a bit odd that I don't bring him to all appointments. Do you guys go on your own at all?

Hope your stims are working well cho!

ChoChang · 15/08/2017 21:56

Ah that was a timely question then! Hope it goes well and you have lots of nice follicles to look at!

Yep im going on my own on Thursday. DH comes along for all the 'important' bits - EC, ET etc, and if hes not got meeting etc and can wfh on the days of my other appts he comes along, but if not I go on my own. Weve been at this 5 years and half the appointments are in and out in 5-10 mins and hes just sat on the side doing nothing anyway so dont see the point in dragging him along to half of them -although he does like to come along whenever he can.

thegamblersmrs · 15/08/2017 22:23

5 and a half years cho that's a long time. I hope this is your time!

ChoChang · 15/08/2017 22:34

Thanks gamblers. 5 yrs total I should say, not at IVF, was just meaning there have been years of various appoinments and hes not been needed at most of them! I hope it is all our time however long weve been at it, its a crappy thing and we all deserve good news! Will have my fingers crossed for good news from your scan tomorrow.

thegamblersmrs · 15/08/2017 22:42

Thanks cho will let you know! It's at 8.30 so good to get it out the way! I'm quite excited about it.

thegamblersmrs · 16/08/2017 09:16

I'm so shit at asking the questions!
Think I have 6 that have reached over 10 and 4 that haven't. They are quite happy with that. Back in on Friday for a scan and they think they will have grown to 17 by then.
Banned from exercise other than swimming or walking and she confirmed that my word finding difficulties

Missmeluk · 16/08/2017 09:24

Hi all

Nice to hear all of your progress and get some tips from you all. OH went in for her first scan on stims today (day 6) and seems all if going well most are about 10 she's on quite a high dose so hoping that this will increase rapidly over the next few days. Waiting for a call from the doctor this afternoon to see when she's got to go back to be scanned. I'm in for my scan on Friday to check on my lining and hoping for EC next week.
It al starts to happen really fast now which is great but also my aniexty levels are through the roof!
I have to start back at work next Thursday so definitely going to be working after the ET which is a pain but at least will keep me occupied.
Loving following all of your stories and can't believe how strong some of you are going through this multiple times this is my first time and it's messing with my head.

Sending positive thoughts Smile
