Hi all! I know there's a June/July thread but I've started this one as I'm so far behind everyone else and wanted to find others at the same stage as me!

We're due to start a FET after a failed fresh cycle in march resulted in a CP. We got 5 Frosties which I'm so pleased with and we're putting two frozen ones back this time.

AF came yesterday, so I'm booked in for scratch on 24th of this month and start DR on 22nd.

I joined a thread on my last cycle and it helped me so much as I am very private with all of this. So I'm hoping to find others to share with again 😊

Great news crying, hope you can relax and pass the time as stress free as possible for the next week or two. Got everything crossed for you.

biscuit i was told the same. In fact my oven kicks out so much heat at waist height that i have started doing some batch cooking and freezing of meals now for after ET. I dont want to spend a lot of time stood over it cooking. I know it sounds crazy but after the 2 mmcs last yr I will try anything.

thegamblersmrs · 09/08/2017 19:56

Oh shit don't listen to me then! I was told not to have any cold baths ha ha! Feck knows what we've to do.

MelbourneClown03 · 09/08/2017 20:51

Oh Crying how exciting! I know what you mean about being paranoid about the heat of the oven and other things that could effect things.

I'm eating pineapple core each morning 'cause I read that it contains some enzyme that promotes implantation. I figured it can't do any harm to try it.

MissMel don't worry too much about going back to work. Somehow the 'excitement' stupid workload of being back at school carries you along through the day.. and then you find yourself snoring and drooling on the sofa once you get home, if you're anything like I was Grin

thegamblersmrs · 09/08/2017 20:58

Clown I've read a lot on pineapple being dangerous in pregnancy re early miscarriage and being natural contraceptive.
God knows how we are all still alive with all the conflicting info!

ChoChang · 09/08/2017 22:10

Yes, I thought pinapple was bad too, although just did a quick google and it seema as if its an old wives tale! Who the hell knows haha

thegamblersmrs · 09/08/2017 22:17

Cho I know! We need to stop reading. I love pineapple and haven't eaten it in months as I think that's the cause of my infertility 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Right I've just run a bit bath, I'm only on stims just checking can I get in it or not?

Anyone have symptoms early on from stims, I've only taken 2 and already I feel 9 months pregnant and my insides feel electric! I'm Also very gassy which is not like me at all sorry tmi.

thirtyplusone · 09/08/2017 22:35

I had DP run me a bath at 5am (post breakdown!) worked a dream and pretty sure I didn't scramble my eggs ☺️

MelbourneClown03 · 09/08/2017 23:09

Oh f**ksticks!
I read a thread on here a few months back, with Mumsnetters swearing by it. It seems you just can't cheat the system, so to speak. I know in my heart of hearts that if it's going to stick, it'll stick but I'm a sucker for old wives tales and superstitions Blush

Missmeluk · 09/08/2017 23:29

@cho she's on gonal f it's in pen form I've tried to warn her how she's going to feel but she's more worried about the egg collection (even though I've told her she's going to be out of it!!!)

@crying I really hope everything goes well for you we seem to be a positive bunch so some great news would be so good.

I've still got a few weeks left off so I'm hoping to get ET done before we go back and then it will keep my mind occupied in the 2ww although OH wants to wrap me in cotton wool during the wait think she's going to drive me mad! The hormones flying round our house at the minute is crazy just trying not to snap at each other!

thegamblersmrs · 10/08/2017 07:08

Miss I think I'm the same as your OH. I'm happy being at work just now (very physical job) but thinking on 2ww I want to do everything I can to give it a fighting chance.
Worrying about time for pessaries, using all energy in work and being too flat to get fresh air or eat well.

You know if I didn't have anything to worry about I'd find something!

Whatamuddleduck · 10/08/2017 09:50

Clinic called- all 8 embryos are going strong on day 2 with 6 at highest grade and 2 at the second. Et booked for Sunday on
day 5. Really hoping they keep going strong, with my history of mc I'm not massively hopeful that an embie will stick but more embies ready in case we work out what the issue is would be amazing!

Leanne is your et today?
Crying how are you feeling post yours?

I'm with you all on the old wives tales and confusion. To the degree that I made my own shampoo and conditioner last week lest any chemicals get me! I blame reading about plastics in the amazon preview of 'it starts with the egg'. Maybe the whole book is less terrifying!

BiscuitBill · 10/08/2017 11:02

I hate all these dos & donts! Because everyone gets told completely different! I just think of all these people that get pregnant just by going outside & that they never have to worry about all this stuff.. so I TRY not to either!

Great news mismel and duck!!

How are you doing today crying?

I just walked down a market past 100s of pineapples and starting talking nonsense to DP about wether or not I should be buying them all. Looked at me like I'd lost the plot 😂

Clinic called this morning to tell me to reduce my puregon from 125 to 100. Anything move slower than a snail? That's me 🐌🐌🐌

Leanne1185 · 10/08/2017 13:42

My ET is on Saturday muddle, day 5 transfer! Just hope they make it to there eek!!
Thirty that's a shame things r going slow it's so hard to be patient xx

MelbourneClown03 · 10/08/2017 14:22

Ahhhh! Just got off the phone from the clinic. I questioned on Monday if I should be taking baby aspirin and Fragmin, like I have done on previous cycles. The nurse said she'd check with the doctor. The nurse ust phoned to say "I should continue to take both". I explained that I hadn't been prescribed either, so therefore haven't taken any yet. She seemed confused and then said she'd write me prescription out.

I'm a bit miffed that they 'forgot' to prescribe it. Here I am paying what seems like squillions and they forget about some of the protocol. Embryo transfer tomorrow. I hope I can get some in to my system in time Angry

thirtyplusone · 10/08/2017 14:31

Ah crap. I just had a 10/10 phone interview but now they want me to go in for a cup of tea and meet the team further next week. NEXT WEEK. GAH. It could be Monday Wednesday or Friday.

What do I do!!! I don't know when my retirval will be. How will I feel the next day? 😩😧😬

Helppppppp

Whatamuddleduck · 10/08/2017 14:49

Well done thirty. I felt like shit the day after egg retrieval, but probably could have put a good face on it for a couple of hours if I needed to. What rubbish timing! Would they let you go tomorrow maybe if just happened to be out of the country next week (last minute surprise holiday?)?

thirtyplusone · 10/08/2017 16:00

Thanks duck oh dear its wednesday, my nurse says hopefully we will know more after tomorrows scan. In the meantime Ive made up some nonsense about being in our office 'up north' for 2 days TBC... ordered myself a nice outfit which should be loose around the middle haha.

what is Fragmin melbourne?

A saturday transfer sounds nice Leanne :) is day 5 quick?

MelbourneClown03 · 10/08/2017 16:34

Oh @thirty what rubbish timing. This whole process is fraught enough as it is. Fragmin is the cheap version of Heparin. I have to inject it once a day in to my belly. It stings like hell Sad
But totally worth it if it helps Frostie to stick and grow.

Nowwhyareyoucrying · 10/08/2017 16:57

Oh no thirty that's a bit awkward, I had a similar problem with work (not knowing what day ET would be on), I ended up taking it off sick but I would say they are pretty accurate when they speculate on ET day. So see what they say when you go for your scan and go from there. I would say the day after is probably a write off too, I felt quite uncomfortable.

That's such fantastic news duck, fingers crossed they keep going and I love that you made your own shampoo and conditioner!

Totally agree biscuit, it's a minefield with so much conflicting information, especially dr google.

I'm doing ok so far thanks guys, obviously apart from thinking about it every 5minutes. Had twinges last night and a low heavy feeling today but I definitely think I'm over thinking it. I ate pineapple on the day before and day of transfer but have stopped now. My oh half looked at me like I was batshit too Thirty when I started talking incessantly about pineapple and implantation. I even make him go to Tesco to get one, with beetroot and spinach. Very random basket.

The nurse said absolutely no heat pads, hot water bottlers or baths. Uterus needs to be kept at a consistent temp, which I sad new for me because I love my electric heat pad, but good news for my electricity bill. I'm enjoying being off for a bit to watch crap tv and see some of my friends, but I will definitely be bored by next week.

Good luck for Saturday Leanne! And hope everyone else is doing well and feeling positive!

thegamblersmrs · 10/08/2017 19:04

Thirty hats such good news but bad timing. They'll surely know people have lives and aren't always available drop of a hat.

Duck is it yourself who is on 2ww?
*
Leanne* how are you after the pains yesterday?

Well the injections sting a little once they are in but not half as bad as getting your thumb caught in the sharps box when there's no one home to help!

Leanne1185 · 10/08/2017 20:11

Yeah I'm ok thanks man ch better although still feeling really tender for some reason 🤔
Thank u crying, hope ur ok xx

Whatamuddleduck · 10/08/2017 20:25

Gamblers, it's crying that is already in tww. Although you wouldn't know it in my house. DP is suddenly panicking that a baby could be here soon, it's almost as though he's never actually considered that before. For today it's quite cute!

Nowwhyareyoucrying · 10/08/2017 20:35

Don't worry Leanne I'm still a teeny but tender and I'm already post ET and in my tww.

Would it be really silly to test everyday?

Gamblers I definitely think the injections get slightly easier as you go, I still had to count down every time though. Getting fingers trapped? How'd you manage that?

Aww duck the realisation has set in! It's not quite like BDing every month and hoping for the best, it seems more real.

thegamblersmrs · 10/08/2017 20:42

BDing?

Ah sure it is, thanks duck.

I was pushing the pen in and got my thumb stuck. What a situation trying to get it out! Oops
