bluebird3 · 30/06/2017 16:39

We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Well amazing news that IVF has worked for you whatever your problem is :-) x

Chochaw · 04/06/2018 18:09

Congratulations @Pony.

Is there anyone on here doing IUI?

MumofBoysx2 · 04/06/2018 18:16

Good luck everyone. I just wanted to say that there is light at the end of the tunnel. We had been ttc for 3 years. First IUI attempt and boom! A success. Next baby came along naturally two years later. It does work!

Ttc1london · 04/06/2018 18:56

I did it last month chocaw and got pregnant (early Mc), I have also gotten pregnant naturally and MC twice before that though though so I can’t say if it was IUI or not x

angelazul · 04/06/2018 19:48

Congratulations @pony Star

I'm still waiting on our ptc, starting to feel a bit nervous about it all tbh, prob even more nervous than 1st time round Hmm

How is everyone else keeping?

Chochaw · 04/06/2018 19:51

Thanks for the responses. That's good to hear that it can work 1st time. I'm due to start 1st IUI on the 12th when AF comes. Last month we were due to start but it got postponed due to staff shortages. Any advice or anything to do to prepare for it?
@Ttc1london I'm sorry to hear about MC. I had one Oct 16. Are you going to try IUI again?

Ttc1london · 04/06/2018 19:54

@chocaw as we are unexplained we thought we would go straight on to ivf so we have just done our first cycle (2 embryos on board currently, 6 in the freezer) so I’m not sure if this will work or not. I think my issue is more implantation so this won’t guarantee us success but at least we know we have embryos in me which takes away a lot of guess work!

Ttc1london · 04/06/2018 19:55

@chochaw sorry I replied above but didn’t spell your name currently!

Chochaw · 04/06/2018 21:33

Aw good luck. I hope they stick for you.x

PonyPals · 05/06/2018 00:11

When is your test day @Ttc1london ?

Ttc1london · 05/06/2018 07:18

@PonyPals a week today which would be 15dpo EC and 10dp5dt so I think I will test a couple of days before so I know the answer, I don’t want to be at work waiting for that call! 🙃

bluebird3 · 06/06/2018 22:58

Congrats pony that's great news. Nice that we've got a few people in active treatment to cheer on.

I've had a rubbish day at work. I've been allocated an awful caseload next year. My preferences have clearly been the lowest priority on the team. I think it's mostly due to being part time which I went to when stress from treatment got too much. I have a feeling that work knowing I've been through treatment and will go through more means they don't see me as 'in the game' as others so have decided to keep others happy over me. I let my boss know I wasn't happy and she said she'd see what she could do but it might be nothing. I can't face next school year if nothing changes so I might be putting in my notice in a couple of weeks. I'm really sad about it all but also angry. Just feel so let down.

Congratulations pony - really pleased for you.

ttc hope this week goes quickly for you. You got a great number frozen!

Oh no bluebird that's awful. Especially if you have trusted them with what you are going through. Are there other schools nearby that are options for moving to?

Good luck chochaw I didn't do IUI as the Doctor suggested going straight to IVF for our case, but I understand that it's less invasive and really boosts chances from TTC.

I'm not surprised you're nervous angel - I find the waiting and the anticipation the worst about the whole process! Wishing you luck!

I'm still trundling on with the synarel, waiting for AF to show so I can start taking estrogen. At this time I am thinking I preferred the stimming injections to the nose spray!

Ttc1london · 08/06/2018 13:15

Hi ladies happy sunny Friday!!

So I got a(nother) bfp this morning , I did last month too remember and as per the previous 2 that didn’t last long. Anyway I am not celebrating as I’m sure 4th time will go the same way as the others but what I was wondering was at 13 days post trigger it can’t be trigger still can it or can it? I’m 6dp5dt but 13 days post trigger?

Ttc1london · 08/06/2018 13:18

@bluebird I hope things have improved a bit at work?
@ponypals how are you feeling? All good I hope? Did you have another beta?

PonyPals · 08/06/2018 13:35

Thank you very much!!! @orangefolly @bluebird3 @Chochaw @angelazul

@Ttc1london congratulations!!!! I know it's hard to be positive at this stage but it's a hurdle that you passed. I have my fingers crossed for you!

I'm just waiting for a scan next week. I will be 6.2. I don't really feel much at the moment. Keep dreaming that it will not be good news.

Ttc1london · 08/06/2018 13:41

I can’t be positive pony I was also “pregnant” last month. Beta isn’t until Tuesday so will have to wait until then and do some atheist praying!

FX for your scan!

ScottishJaggyNettle · 09/06/2018 21:39

Hi Everyone :)
Sorry that i havent been around for a wee while sorry im a little behind and trying to catch up. Im hoping that everyone is doing well.

Pony Congratulations! :) I hope the 12 weeks goes safely and swiftly.

Ttc I have my FX for you.. (You gotta love that atheist praying). 6 blastys is fantastic :D

Blue Its horrid that your work have done that. The whole thing is horrid let alone your work adding to the stress pile. :( Do what is best for you. Dont let them take the piss.

Sorry i have been a little under the weather recently and a bit absorbed in my own wee world apologies.

bluebird3 · 09/06/2018 23:30

scottish welcome backSmile. Sometimes we all need to have a little break when it gets too much. No need for apologies!

Fx for you pony and ttc. I fully know the feeling of not wanting to celebrate just yet. When you've been through the ringer you're so used to disappointment that it's better to prepare yourself. Just try to stay calm and hopefully the days pass quickly.

Work is still rubbish. I told them I'm probably leaving via email and now have awkward meetings to look forward to next week. I'm also a bit concerned about the financial aspect of things but I need to crunch the numbers.

I feel awful as a friend who went through IVF for her first (her DD is 2), texted to say she is pregnant. I asked her a month ago if she was going to do ivf again and she said no, but they'd see what happened naturally. She's been so supportive of me but I felt irrationally bitter. I kept thinking 'it's not fair, she got pregnant 1st time with IVF and now gets pregnant naturally without even really trying.' I have calmed down now and do feel happy for her just really sad for me. And sad to lose my infertile friend who understands what I'm going through. I already kind of lost her when she had DD1 as she moved to the 'mummy club'. She obviously remembers what it was like to not get pregnant naturally but she never had a failed IVF, let alone 3 or a miscarriage.

I have felt worse this week than in a long time and I'm sure it's been triggered by the work stress/anxiety. Sorry for the long self absorbed post. Hope everyone is enjoying some sun this weekend.

Ttc1london · 10/06/2018 06:02

@bluebird I totally get that! My friend and I were both trying for about 10 months and then she got pregnant (naturally) and I joked about how she would have this baby and I still wouldn’t be pregnant, anyway it’s her baby shower today and yes I’m technically pregnant today but for how long who knows!

It is SO SO Hard and I also get the shit I’m infertile am I every going to be a Mum moments and it so awful. We can only have hope that for most people they do get there in the end even if it’s after 10 years! Xx

Chochaw · 11/06/2018 18:35

So I started Gonal-f today for IUI. I was nervous going along to hospital but it was ok.

@bluebird I hope things have settled at work. I'm a teacher in Scotland and my HT was being difficult about me getting time off to go to appointments. When I phoned HR, the lady said it would be better if I arranged it for the holidays as it was not a necessary appointment but the Union I am in were really supportive.

My best friend is getting married next year and the other bridesmaid has just announced she is pregnant by accident. My friend was terrified to tell me as she knew it would upset me.x

Ttc1london · 11/06/2018 18:50

Oh @chochaw people do that to me too “I didn’t want to tell you”, well better I know then just seeing them one day with a bump! FX for your IUI cycle!!!

Afm, got my first beta done today and it was 308! Last month it was 26 so I am hoping this one/ones have more of a chance but who knows!

Ttc1london · 12/06/2018 15:25

My beta (17 hours later, I knew was a bad idea as not enough time for a real representation!) has only gone from 308 to 322... not looking good AGAIN :-( 4th time now!

bluebird3 · 12/06/2018 19:03

ttc isn't hcg meant to double every 48 hours, so can you judge it by a test 17 hours later? Maybe it's just a little slow and then will have an upswing. When are you testing again? I've got my fingers crossed for you.

chocaw that's awful about your school. Mine have been good about appointments but now that it's been going on for so long I think they are a bit fed up.

They've said they will work with me at work so that I'm happier with what I'll be doing next year, but in return they want my assurance I won't leave. I have two outstanding applications for jobs I am interested in and don't know what to do. I sort of agreed to it in the moment but now feel unsure. They can't enforce me staying but it makes things very awkward and I have a 2 month notice period. I don't want to burn bridges if I decide to go. It's so hard to know what to do.

orangefolly · 13/06/2018 12:28

Hi everyone, how's it going?

Chochaw that makes me so angry on your behalf them saying it's not a 'necessary' appointment! The stress and heartbreak it brings, and how long it can take 😡

ttc when do you get tested again? Keeping fingers crossed for you.

AF has FINALLY arrived, a week late. Bloody Synarel! So I'll be going in for baseline scan Friday and hopefully starting on Estrogen. Just in the nick of time for my holiday 😁
