IVF in May/JUNE 2017..cycle buddies!

Hi

I noticed there's a IVF thread for March/April and now June - but no May.

My egg collection is scheduled week commencing the 15th May. On my next period (due around 3rd April) I have to go down for my bloods.
Anyone else?

elle I've only taken day after EC off so far would def recommend that, I'm also taking a week after transfer this time too as my job is pretty stressful so just want to be away. As ticking says though see how you are feeling on the meds.

ticking fingers crossed for you on Saturday. The pessaries are def a TMI topic so feel free to skip. Effectively the gel/cream just carries the progesterone so once your body has absorbed it the gel is pretty much left there, some comes out, some stays stuck needless to say it's uncomfortable so not looking forward to them again.

ticking its a tough decision to make definitely, i dont know what id do tbh. Theres no right or wrong in this game, just luck! Hope u have some left by saturday.

I had a scratch but have been advised it might not have much/any benefit... I think it's still early days for research into it.

Scan was uncomfortable today - presume it's my ovaries growing but still don't think I have many follicles some had grown and some still smaller similar numbers to before. Maybe I'm a slow responder (even though I'm sure I had a better response doing IUI on 75iu!). Also been having EWCM.

Next scan and bloods on Sunday I think!

maple sorry to hear scan was not pleasant. Fingers crossed for scan on Sunday.
broody my right leg started to get really sensitive to it, so moved on to left leg now. Funny as didn't sting to start with.

It seems I am in the less is more camp and quality not quantity... had Day 10 scan and there weren't many there... had a really nice big one on the right and one def on left with maybe 3 very close together. Needless to say I was disappointed, but bless her the nurse was sweet saying you just need one. Think I'd prefer a few more though... back on Monday for another scan with Wednesday booked for EC assuming there's enough there to get!
Feeling confused and disappointed with my body! Glad the weekend is here!!

Just found out my cycle is being postponed after egg collection because there are too many follicles (76 at last scan)

Had really prepared myself mentally for this month and now I feel a bit lost! Really hope things go more smoothly for everyone else!

Oh Flirty I'm so sorry. Do they collect eggs at all or is it too high risk of OHSS?

flirty I know it's disappointing but you've waited this long so another few months is nothing. They're doing it to give you the best chance too.
I found out mine was postponed on the day of EC in December so disappointing but when I got to what should have been transfer day I couldn't imagine how my body would have coped, it was not ready.

Thanks ladies. They're still doing egg collection and fertilisation but then they'll immediately freeze after that...apparently it's their standard protocol if they collect more than 25 eggs. I know it's for the best and you're right, in the grand scheme of things one or two months longer shouldn't matter, just feel a bit frustrated at the delay!

And yes, sorry, all best today ticking!

Frustrating but you're body will be totally ready for an ET. Look after yourself and drink lots of water!

flirty hope you don't feel too disappointed - I know I would be as am really impatient but I had a failed fresh cycle not long ago and now going into a FET cycle, and honestly it's so much more relaxed and I feel more prepared!

Best of luck with EC and you will probably need some down time after that so take it easy.

Yeah I'm really impatient too blackcherries but yes it will be for the best and hopefully July will be here before I know it!

flirty gutted for you...its such a harrowing experience as it is, now its about focusing on getting your body back to the normal and as lily said, youre body will be ready for the transfer by then. Fingers crossed your egg collection goes well. Did they say they were going to harvest all 76?

maple i hope your scans go well tomorrow. How long have you been on stimms? The hospital were just giving facts and my husband kept hounding them for statistics but I kind of understood where they stood. To give hope is a very scary and pricey thing in the healthcare world.

broody sorry about the bloating and nausea, the things we gotta go thru eh? My husband bought me a pack of wind-eze and they have really helped me a lot in getting rid of gas

chivin fingers crossed as well that those eggs start ripening and growing...after what weve been thru today, yes I agree with your nurse that you only need the 1 to get to the end.

Went to the hospital and when we were called in to the treatment room, the embryoogist said we had 1 that reached the blastocyst stage...and that we wouldnt have anything suitable to freeze. She said they also grade the blastocyst in 3 aspects. A is great B not so great and C is ok...everything was graded a B. I was also grateful it was a Consultant doing the transfer. While they were doing the abdominal scan, I asked about my ovaries and they said its slightly big but it didnt cause them concern and will resolve eventually. They gave us a printout of the transfer, told me the dos and donts and sent me off and now it will be the 2 week wait.

Chivin we can be in the same camp! I'm feeling the same as you - disappointed with my body. No mention of when my EC will be yet.

Flirty I'm so sorry it's going to be cancelled but 76 follicles is a lot and with the high risk of OHSS it would be putting yourself as well as the possible embryo they transfer at risk. I would feel the same as you - all geared up to go but suddenly feeling lost when it's not going to happen, but it's definitely for the best and hopefully the next month or 2 will go quickly and your body can be primed for transfer!

AFM I have a scan and bloods tomorrow. But at the moment I'm worrying as I've had an eczema flare up on my face -mainly around my eyes and chin. I'll ask the docs tomorrow for advice but last time I had a flare up it became infected I am currently on antibiotics I was given as part of my protocol So hoping that might help keep it at bay but my face is feeling uncomfortable!

oh no maple thats such rotten timing. i know its easier said than done but try not to worry as much as it can make it worse. just one more sleep and youll get there

maple thats really bad timing and very unlucky you think that maybe the stress of ivf is making you have a break out?
flirty thats absolute brutual news! Funnily enough i was worrying earlier today the very same might happen to me. I had 40 follicles at baseline scan. Ill have been stimming 8 days tomorrow so i have no idea how things are going? When do they scan you again?

Thanks both - thankfully after slathering my face with aveeno it seems to have calmed down so feeling relieved and doesn't look as bad as yesterday! It might be the stress - so hard to keep calm about it all though!

I had scan and bloods today - I think I have about 5 that are 14-16mm, some that are 10-12mm and about 5 which are less than 10mm. Had a call to ask me to do 375iu again tonight then blood test tomorrow and blood test and scan on Tuesday. My arms are bruised so not looking forward to the blood tests 3 days in a row!

So sorry about the freeze all cycle Flirty, but on the positive side it sounds like you are set to have a wonderful number of eggs collected, which ups your chances considerably. Congrats on getting through to the next phase ticking! It seems so far off at present. All fingers crossed for you.

I had egg collection this morning and they retrieved 9 eggs. Apparently 8 is average for my clinic so I feel. ..quietly good...though could have been better of course. Had a nightmare moment pre- collection when I thought I'd mistimed my trigger shot. The nurse's face turned white! Then I realised I had my days mixed up. Shed a few tears in theatre before sedation due to the stress then relief. Recovery going fine though a bit achey. Now we cross fingers and wait....

Elle and Karen - how is the down regging going for you? I'm on day 7 and so far so good. Few hot flushes and a little tired but that's it. I'm worrying it's not working but I think that's natural. I'm on 0.25ml Buserelin - what are you guys on??

All going well thanks- no side effects at all! Even the injections are going well! I'm on 0.5ml Buserelin- wonder why we are taking different amounts? I'm actually hating the antibiotic (because of the pipette scratch) more than the injections- they taste appalling!

Flirty- stay positive- you body will be super ready for the ET after a few weeks recovery from such a big haul!

Chiv- I have a friend who had 1 egg collected in her first (and only) round of ICSI and they have a daughter! As the nurse said- you only need one!

maple same here, i was telling the phlebotomist i feel like a smack heaf! Got bruises everywhere.

Broody I've been keeping my arms covered as I don't want work people to see my bruises haha! Hope they call you today to let you know what's next. Annoying they haven't said when your next scan or blood test is.

I'm the same as broody - was on 0.5ml buserelin until I started stimming and was dropped to 0.2ml...

Lily- maybe it differs from person to person. I can't seem to find any guidelines anywhere so presume the Dr's must know what they are doing!
