IVF Cycle buddies March/April

I know we are only partway through February, but I'm down to start our 2nd round of IVF once my period starts at the end of this month, so thought I'd start a cycle buddies thread now as I gear up..!
Our history is that we have a 3.5yo DS, naturally conceived, but have been trying for a sibling for 2 years now... we had an ectopic pregnancy just over a year ago, but after that nothing... so as I'll be 40 next month, we decided there wasn't time to waste anymore and had all the tests last year but we are 'unexplained'... so we had a cycle of IVF in November/December but sadly was unsuccessful as ended in a chemical pregnancy. So here we go again - fingers crossed it's 2nd time lucky...! If anyone else is starting soon then would be great to have the support! Xx

Oh no hobbes you didn't need the additional drama and exposure after all you've been through. Can only hope SIL can provide some extra support for u, now she knows. And to ur DH too, so he can be stronger & support you. I'd say continue with the progesterone until the nurses confirm otherwise to be sure. Sending thoughts your way xxx

geeup · 16/04/2017 09:44

Hi hobbes. What a horrible entrance from AF. I'm so sorry. I had exactly the same with the clots but the clinic still told me to keep taking the pessaries until OTD. I knew I was 100% not pregnant but they said a small % of people still are etc etc so I did keep on taking them. Well done you for telling your SIL. I hope that bit of extra support helps this weekend.

bjonesreborn · 16/04/2017 09:52

hobbes you poor thing. This process is such a shitty thing to be on and you really didn't need that. Agree to keep taking the progesterone until you have spoken with the nurses. So sorry you are going through this xx
(As for mattress I swear by vanish for anything)

bjonesreborn · 17/04/2017 09:03

hobbes hope you are feeling ok today and the bleeding has calmed down.
lulah good luck for ET today.

Ozzyboo · 17/04/2017 09:56

Oh Hobbes what an awful time you must have had 😞 I really do want to give you a big hug! Hope you are feeling a little better today x x

BeePositive · 17/04/2017 11:57

Best wishes for your ET lulah... sticky dust your way Smile

Ozzyboo · 17/04/2017 12:35

Trigger shot tonight at 9:30 ready for EC Wednesday! X

bjonesreborn · 17/04/2017 12:54

Great news ozzy enjoy your day off injections tomorrow!

lulahbelle · 17/04/2017 12:59

Sorry not to post yesterday - have no mobile reception where we live and internet went down on Saturday and has only just started working again - thanks BT!

Hobbes - hope you're doing ok. It's so unfair what you're going through - an unsuccessful cycle is bad enough without adding the mother of all AFs into the mix. Hope you've been taking it easy and your DH and SIL are taking good care of you Flowers

Great news ozzy - v excited for you!

Thanks bjones and bee - one grade 5AA blast on board and I hope snuggling in well! 2 other blasts that are too early to grade and (I think) 3 morulas left so they'll let me know tomorrow whether any of those are good enough to freeze - doesn't sound likely to be honest so guess my eggs are literally all in one basket!

Hope everyone else is ok xx

bjonesreborn · 17/04/2017 13:12

Congratulations lulah on being pupo!! When is your OTD?
Fingers crossed you get some to freeze, welcome to the 2WW x

lulahbelle · 17/04/2017 13:28

Thanks bjones! OTD is a week on Wednesday so the 26th. How are you feeling?

bjonesreborn · 17/04/2017 13:45

Feel ok, didn't have a great day yesterday, was upset because I literally feel no different. Keep thinking that it's because it hasn't worked. I had a bit of tummy ache on day 3 after transfer but that's it.
Back to work tomorrow after a couple of weeks off so hopefully the days will fly (they normally do as I work 12hour days) and then Friday will be here before I know it. At least I'll know the outcome then!!

lulahbelle · 17/04/2017 14:46

I don't think no symptoms has to mean it hasn't worked - think of all those people who have no idea they're pregnant until they miss a period. Keeping my fingers crossed for Friday for you!

MushaSoturi · 17/04/2017 15:02

Thinking of you hobbes hope you're ok x

Congrats on ET lulah keeping everything crossed for you and hope the 2ww doesn't drag too much. Good luck for EC Wednesday Ozzy. bjones no symptoms doesn't mean anything, most of my friends had no symptoms at all until way after missed period, keep thinking positive x

bjonesreborn · 17/04/2017 15:21

Thanks lulah and musha finding it harder and harder the closer I get to OTD. Having never done this before/had a BFP naturally I didn't know what to expect. Though did think I would have noticed something. Anyway you're right I have to keep thinking positive x

Hope2409 · 17/04/2017 18:46

lulah congrats on being PUPO and welcome to the 2ww, hope it goes quickly for you. Fingers crossed you get some frosties too, my frostie couldnt be graded on day 5 but was a grade A on day 6 so you never know!

ozzy good luck for your trigger shot tonight and EC wednesday x

hobbes i really hope your holding up ok, its just so unfair, sending you big hugs xx

bjones hang in there, not much longer to go and i'm sure the time will go quicker once your back at work. I find the last few days harder too and it takes all my strength to not test early but i wont do it, friday is the day.
I dont think not feeling anything means it hasnt worked, like musha said lots of people dont even know they are pregnant till they miss a period.
Thing is for us we have thought about it for so long and have felt so much with the drugs, EC etc.... that we assume we will just know and feel different!
I havent felt anything since the weekend either, its the wondering thats horrid x

Hobbes39 · 17/04/2017 20:36

Thanks all for the kind thoughts - it definitely helps having people who understand. We are back home, which is a relief as despite my SIL being lovely about it all, I'm feeling pretty rubbish still as keep having huge (sorry for tmi) clots still that are flooding my clothes...so glad I'm home!
I will keep checking in to see how you all get on & hoping for good news for you all xxx

Thinking of you ladies all on the 2WW bjones lulah. I'm very excited for my ET tomorrow but know that with it comes lots of second-guessing for any symptoms, little highs of hopefulness, and then checking yourself to be realistic as it likely wont happen, and then more glimmers of hope pop up, all with the countdown to OTD which you can't wait for, but also secretly scared for, as you don't want a BFN.

Thinking of you still hobbes. Hope it's a brighter week for you ahead, now you're home and in your own environment again. Get through this nasty AF and then there will be time to focus on positive future steps.

Good luck for your EC tomorrow ozzy. May Wednesday be a good day for us all!

irishasia · 18/04/2017 11:31

I just recently had my first IVF cycle and after the gruelling 2 weeks wait. I had a positive Pregnancy test. My first scan is on the 8th of May. Good luck to us all.

BeePositive · 18/04/2017 12:38

Congratulations irishasia! That's great news Star Always good to have a positive update on this thread.

geeup · 18/04/2017 12:58

Irishasia congratulations. Sorry if I've missed any previous posts but what treatment did you have - short/long protocol? 3 day/5 day transfer? Any issues that ivf was "fixing" for you? Any previous cycles? Would be good to know what if anything made it work for you.

Wanda354 · 18/04/2017 14:28

Catching up on posts again. Hobbes, I'm so sorry you had bad news over the weekend. I know it feels so sad. Hope you're ok.

Congratulations irishasia and good luck to those still on the 2WW.

bjonesreborn · 18/04/2017 19:27

Congratulations irish, be good to hear your story of how you got there.
How is everyone else?
AFM, woke up at 2.30am and went for a wee. A bit of brown blood when I wiped (I think/guess - sorry TMI) didn't get back to sleep for hours, not great with a 12 hour day ahead of me. Anyway had tummy ache all day and brown still there when I wipe every time I go for a wee (which to be fair I have been an awful lot - more than usual - today to check!) Spoke to clinic, obviously they couldn't say one way or the other but told me to try and relax and if it gets worse in volume/colour then to call them. Absolutely terrified this is the beginning of the end. So unfair. Trying to stay positive but finding it v hard

SilverLinings2014 · 18/04/2017 20:37

Oh bjones what a mindf**k that must be. I know it's hard but try to stay positive. If it's brown/old blood it could be from the ET catheter or implantation. Will be keeping everything crossed for you. OTD is Friday isn't it?

Thinking of you hobbes, hope you're doing okay.

Good luck ozzy and bee for tomorrow.

Lots of us in the tww now...what's everyone's level of crazy this evening? Mine is off the scale. Been getting twinges that could be AF, implantation or just wind for all I know but am driving myself quickly insane wondering. My plan to test on Sunday has been scuppered by the inlaws deciding to visit for the weekend so looks like I'll be testing on Monday morning before going back to work. It might not be a bad thing, being busy will keep my mind off the result I guess.

BeePositive · 18/04/2017 20:42

Thanks silver. Good luck holding off till Monday or doing a sneaky test without inlaws noticing over the weekend!
