IVF Cycle buddies March/April

I know we are only partway through February, but I'm down to start our 2nd round of IVF once my period starts at the end of this month, so thought I'd start a cycle buddies thread now as I gear up..!
Our history is that we have a 3.5yo DS, naturally conceived, but have been trying for a sibling for 2 years now... we had an ectopic pregnancy just over a year ago, but after that nothing... so as I'll be 40 next month, we decided there wasn't time to waste anymore and had all the tests last year but we are 'unexplained'... so we had a cycle of IVF in November/December but sadly was unsuccessful as ended in a chemical pregnancy. So here we go again - fingers crossed it's 2nd time lucky...! If anyone else is starting soon then would be great to have the support! Xx

Sorry I feel like I've just ignored everyone else today 🙈 so much to take in with all the dates etc for bloods & scans!

Hope everyone else is ok and your little embies are growing nicely! And those waiting to test.. I'd try and wait.. Couldn't think of anything worse than getting a false negative!

Annab1983 · 05/04/2017 17:31

Thanks geeup, it's not a good feeling and I didn't have it in my last pregnancy (granted this was 7 years ago) just had sore boobs then.. it's probably just the progesterone or something.. fingers crossed for you too I think the mantra is a great idea! I used to do something similar years ago you've reminded me to start it again! Best of luck to everyone on here, it's such a rollercoaster!

Wanda354 · 05/04/2017 17:38

Hi all. Annab I am with you - my test day is Sun (but clinic have said can test on Sat) and I am sort of dreading it, having been desperate to get to it until the last couple of days. Just don't know how I will cope if it's BFN.

Hope everyone else is ok. Jody - good luck for tomorrow morning.

hhno - how are you feeling?

Hope2409 · 05/04/2017 17:53

Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing ok x

Egg collection went ok today, got 9 eggs (same as last time) just got to wait for the call tomorrow. Feeling really uncomfortable and in quite a bit of pain, dont remember feeling as sore last time x

Ozzyboo · 05/04/2017 17:55

Great result Hope! Fingers crossed for that call tomorrow 🤞🏼

geeup · 05/04/2017 18:09

Well done hope. Hope you are feeling ok and have a nice lazy evening planned. Let us know how it goes when you get the call. Will be rooting for you!

jodybug0908 · 05/04/2017 18:09

Good luck everyone xxxxx am absolutely terrified about doing the test and facing the result

Ozzyboo · 05/04/2017 18:27

Good luck Jody! I'll be thinking of you all tomorrow! I can imagine test day is probably the most terrifying part of this whole process 😖 Think posotive thoughts x x

Annab1983 · 05/04/2017 18:40

It's awful isn't it, after the transfer and during the first week of the 2WW all you want to do is test then the closer it is the scarier it seems to get! 🙁 Best of luck to everyone! x

Hhno2 · 05/04/2017 18:50

Hey guys hope your all ok wishing everyone so much luck! I hope you all get good results.

I'm already feeling exhausted by 2pm everyday and so thirsty! But that's about it just nervous for scan in two weeks hope it all goes ok!
How is everyone? X

SilverLinings2014 · 05/04/2017 19:00

Great result hope Smile

Good luck for tomorrow jody

My scan today went well. Lining is good at 8.9mm, which explains why I've been drowning in ewcm the past few days (sorry tmi!) Booked in for ET a week on Friday, so a few more days coasting on buserealin before I start the dreaded pesseries in preparation for transfer. Been dreading this part; they made me so uncomfortably bloated and constipated last time around. But it's only 5 days, once transfer is done they can go in the 'front door', which stops the bloating but causes a leakage problem. Such a glamorous process isn't it!

Sorry if I've missed people, on phone so can't scroll back. Thinking of you all xx

Hope2409 · 05/04/2017 20:27

Please can i ask, has anyone found it quite painful when going for a wee wee after having egg collection?
I'm really sore and it hurts and kind of pulls when i go to the toilet.
I dont remember feeling this delicate last time, not sure if its normal or not! X

Hobbes39 · 05/04/2017 20:42

Hi Hope - 9 eggs is brilliant, well done Smile. Will have everything crossed for you tomorrow. The the pain with peeing - yes I did a bit - not so much pain though, more tenderness like I'm all swollen, so it's harder to get pee out? (Sorry, tmi!) if you feel it's a lot worse than last time you should keep an eye on it and ask your doctor though. Hope you feel better soon. I still feel tender today though, so I think it's pretty normal?
Feeling v nervous about the call tomorrow, think there are a few of us now in v anxious news territory tomorrow, good luck everyone xxx

Thanks hobbes i will keep an eye and mention it tomorrow when i speak to them!

I think this is the worse bit waiting for the calls as you just dont know! Its so emotional waiting to get your fertilisation results then your day 3 call its so nerve wracking!
Hope everyones calls go well tomorrow x

kmmr · 05/04/2017 21:32

Hi ladies. I'm still around and like jodie and wanda I'm too scared to test. Due for a blood test tomorrow, and I'm genuinely thinking of skipping it. (Friday my time). I could go to the sister clinic on Saturday so as not to very the call at work.
No sign of AF... which is good as I bled the last 2 times. I'm so scared of the results though.
Hhno, did you have many symptoms last week? I can't decide if I'm having them or not! Stupid progesterone symptoms.

kmmr · 05/04/2017 21:34

Good luck for all the growing embies! God I found that so stressful. On our fresh cycle we only got 1 to blast, and not great quality I found out later. But he's currently sitting beside me with his legs on my head watching the ipad. Really only takes one.

Hhno2 · 05/04/2017 22:11

Kmmr I was getting pulling but I put it down to period coming as I had pink discharge so thought for sure I was out I never had that with my 1st who was also 1 blasto and is now a happy three yr old! But this time I was so sure it was over I was devastated talk about shock when I got the call!! And now just super tired and thirsty!!!
Don't be scared go for the test!!! Good luck 🤞 Sending baby dust xxx

jodybug0908 · 05/04/2017 22:32

Should I like drink loads before I go to bed? I might wake up at 2am dying to pee though! Hahaha

geeup · 05/04/2017 22:37

I'd imagine you normally wake up needing a wee in the morning Jody? If so I wouldn't bother drinking extra. You want it concentrated anyway! Good luck!!

jodybug0908 · 05/04/2017 22:46

I'm also wondering what to tell people now too. I've been so jittery last few weeks I let it slip to a few people and they know tomorrow is decision day. What do I say if they ask? DH is adamant he only wants our parents knowing the outcome either way. He's really private person me not so much! I'm dying to tell them either way!

blackcherries · 05/04/2017 22:48

hope i was uncomfortable for about 4-5 days after EC (they got 16 eggs) and reduced weeing was one of the symptoms. Keep an eye out for mild OHSS symptoms getting stronger - although you'll probably be fine.

Hobbes39 · 05/04/2017 23:02

Ozzy - meant to say before - it's totally up to you, but honestly if your friend is your best friend then I think you should tell her what's going on - I have told some close friends IRL and it just makes it easier tbh as i hate the lying, it's exhausting thinking up excuses for things. I haven't told my parents as they would just make it harder and I'd feel guilty for worrying them, but if you are going to be on her hen weekend while going through this, or if you are going to miss it because of this, I think both of you would feel better about it all if she knew - if you were my best friend I'd want you to tell me so I could try to support you...
Jody - same thing applies to you as well I think - if you've told people you are doing this, then they will know either way soon enough, so personally id tell them when you are ready whichever the outcome... I'll keep everything crossed for you tomorrow! Xx

Test was NEGATIVE 😢 BFN. I just had a feeling. Oh well, at least we know for sure.

And now I have to go to sodding work when all I want to do is crawl in a hole and cry. Grrrrrrr. Life is so cruel. Best wishes to everyone today xx hope it all works out for you even if it hasn't for me x

Wanda354 · 06/04/2017 06:18

Oh Jody. I'm so sorry. Can you take a sickie today, just stay at home? Or maybe work will be a good distraction.

I am also feeling like my test is going to be a BFN. Haven't had the sore boobs or any cramps for a couple of days now and no other symptoms. Feeling really sad about it.

Have you any friends who know about the IVF who you can talk to? Be kind to yourself. It is such a game of chance, and so unfair.

bjonesreborn · 06/04/2017 07:09

jody I am so sorry. Take care of yourself xx
