IVF Cycle buddies March/April

I know we are only partway through February, but I'm down to start our 2nd round of IVF once my period starts at the end of this month, so thought I'd start a cycle buddies thread now as I gear up..!
Our history is that we have a 3.5yo DS, naturally conceived, but have been trying for a sibling for 2 years now... we had an ectopic pregnancy just over a year ago, but after that nothing... so as I'll be 40 next month, we decided there wasn't time to waste anymore and had all the tests last year but we are 'unexplained'... so we had a cycle of IVF in November/December but sadly was unsuccessful as ended in a chemical pregnancy. So here we go again - fingers crossed it's 2nd time lucky...! If anyone else is starting soon then would be great to have the support! Xx

geeup that's great news - good luck for Monday!

Wanda - like Hobbes said, I think it depends on how you feel - I think the reason they say to wait for a couple more days is to be sure that you'll get a solid result and don't get a false BFN if you see what I mean? If I get that far though, I suspect I'll end up testing early!

blackcherries · 30/03/2017 13:26

I am holding out till day 16 after EC but since that bit of bleeding I've been wanting to test early, but either me or DH have to get up ridiculously early for work the next few days so haven't wanted to. Tempted to get up early and do it tomorrow though... But not sure what I'd make of a bfn

Hhno2 · 30/03/2017 14:07

Wanda the pains have eased up thank goodness!!!! My clinic is testing me 10 days after et which is this sat that's for blood test for urine test it's 12!
I on my previous cycles tested early on my last one which was a Chem pregnancy I got a positive 6 days after but I then bled on day 10 and had blood test which said it was no longer viable but wish I hadn't tested to even know that! Just wait till test day!!

DippyDeeeee · 30/03/2017 14:12

Hey all

I posted once a while ago and whilst I check in every evening to see how everyone's doing just realised I never posted again

Sending positive vibes to all those stimming follicles and eggs and to all those on the 2ww

LoPI so sorry your egg didn't fertilise.

Wanda I would def be testing 10 days past ec but I've done a test at 8dpo before so probably not the best person to ask

Hobbes I think I'm a couple of days behind you and about a week behind bjones

Well I'm now day 4 of gonal F. For those on gonal F can I ask what dose you're on and what day you had you're first scan?

Wanda354 · 30/03/2017 14:44

I don't think I'll last till test day. Wish our clinic did a blood test on day 10!

DippyDeeee my DP was on 300mg of gonal-f and had first scan after 3 days of it.

Hobbes39 · 30/03/2017 15:30

Hi dippydeee - I'm on 225 of gonal f & was on 150 Bemfola first time round and had first scan at day 6 both times - on day 8 now - will have scan tomorrow then depending on whether they think that I'm ready to trigger this weekend or not, that will be it, otherwise I suspect I'll have another scan on Monday. I'm def starting to feel something now - feel like I have a stitch on both sides and am totally exhausted! Fingers crossed it's a good sign...

lulahbelle · 30/03/2017 15:41

Hi DippyDeeeee, I'm on 225 of gonal f as well and am having my first scan on day 7. I'm then booked in for further scans on days 9 and 12 but these may change depending on how I respond.

bjonesreborn · 30/03/2017 15:41

Amazing news geeup!!
dippydeee I'm on 375ml gonal f, had 1st scan yesterday (day10) back again tomorrow, possible EC Monday.
Hope everyone else is ok

DippyDeeeee · 30/03/2017 16:04

Thanks everyone. I'm on 450 which seems a lot!!

AMH is 9 so low but not super low. AFC wasn't great though!

So confusing as every clinic seems to do things differently

Hobbes39 · 30/03/2017 16:37

Hi dippy - I'm sorry I can't scroll thru to check from before, but just wondering when you say your AFC wasn't great what it was? I've been really confused by my AMH and AFC not exactly correlating, so interested to hear that someone else doesn't either... my AMH was 15.4, AFC this time round 7-8...

OP posts:
DippyDeeeee · 30/03/2017 17:14

AFC was 7/8 it was 11/12 6 months ago when AMH was higher so they've dropped together Hmm There doesn't seem to be any type of formula on how they work it out.

First scan will be day 8 which just feels like a long way away on a high dose!!

Hobbes have you had your first scan yet?

Ozzyboo · 30/03/2017 18:08

Quick question for anyone on or who has been on suprecur..
Does your period come early or late? I'm now on day 6 of suprecur and my period is due on Saturday/Sunday although I prepared myself for it being late as I've read lots of people saying theirs was late! Today I've had spotting dark red/brown colour. Not sure if it's my period coming, spotting from the endo scratch I had last week (although I would have thought that would have happened before now) or something else???

Hobbes39 · 30/03/2017 19:04

Dippy, yes - had first scan on Tuesday which was day 6. Day 8 for first scan does seem a long time on a high dose - have you had any blood test since starting? Is this your first IVF? Or have you done it before and had a low response?
I was told AMH v roughly correlates with AFC - give or take a couple - so you are about right. Mine is an anomaly... I think they must have got it wrong!
Ozzy - I did pill priming, so don't think it's the same, as I started to bleed a couple of days into buserelin as had been on pill for 3 weeks first... sorry can't help x

OP posts:
Hhno2 · 31/03/2017 07:20

I had blood tinged cm when I wiped this morning I hope I'm not out I feel devastated already if this is the start of my period I think I'll break down I've already cried in the shower! Got blood test tomo and now struggling to stay positive

Hobbes39 · 31/03/2017 07:35

HHno - try to stay positive - it isn't over yet... I think a small amount of bleeding is reasonably common, especially if using progesterone pessaries as it can irritate, but it's impossible to tell if just spotting. Will keep everything crossed for you, I hope your period stays away! Xx

OP posts:
bjonesreborn · 31/03/2017 07:54

Hhno2 everything crossed for you it's ok. Please try not to worry (easier said than done I know)
Hope everyone else is ok this morning

DippyDeeeee · 31/03/2017 07:54

Ozzy I did the same as Hobbes so started bleeding a couple of days after burselin as had been on the pill

Hobbes this is my first IVF so no idea how I will respond. Conceived DD with a medicated IUI but that was a different clinic and she's 7 now. No mention of blood tests. What are they testing for?

DippyDeeeee · 31/03/2017 07:56

Interesting about the AMH AFC correlation. Hobbes I think you just had a few extras hiding behind the others 😀

Ozzyboo · 31/03/2017 08:22

It's definitely not a period so I'll just carry on.. I can only imagine it's from the endo scratch I had last week!

Hhno2 I really hope you get good news at your blood test tomorrow 🙏🏼 try and stay positive x x

DippyDeeeee · 31/03/2017 08:43

I'm sure I had a few days of quite heavy brown spotting before having a proper bleed

Hhno2 have everything crossed for you x

blackcherries · 31/03/2017 08:56

Good luck hhno2 I've been feeling more positive since my little bleed but then last night have been throwing up and diarrhoea. Can't tell if side effect from progesterone increase or bug as my toddler has had a temperature for 2 days. Testing tomorrow and gone back to feeling quite pessimistic. Feel like I've really been through the mill physically!

DippyDeeeee · 31/03/2017 09:45

Good luck for tomorrow blackcherries

lulahbelle · 31/03/2017 09:48

Good luck Hhno2 and blackcherries - am crossing my fingers for you both for your tests tomorrow. Try not to worry too much - the bleeding and upset stomach seem to be symptoms that lots of people report before getting their BFP.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

geeup · 31/03/2017 09:55

Everything crossed for you two here also!!

Wanda354 · 31/03/2017 15:44

Seconding all the good luck for blackcherries and hhno. I'll be thinking of you both tomorrow and hoping for 2 x good news.
