I know we are only partway through February, but I'm down to start our 2nd round of IVF once my period starts at the end of this month, so thought I'd start a cycle buddies thread now as I gear up..!
Our history is that we have a 3.5yo DS, naturally conceived, but have been trying for a sibling for 2 years now... we had an ectopic pregnancy just over a year ago, but after that nothing... so as I'll be 40 next month, we decided there wasn't time to waste anymore and had all the tests last year but we are 'unexplained'... so we had a cycle of IVF in November/December but sadly was unsuccessful as ended in a chemical pregnancy. So here we go again - fingers crossed it's 2nd time lucky...! If anyone else is starting soon then would be great to have the support! Xx

LoPI - I'm so so sorry, I'm heartbroken for you... it's just so cruel. Did they have any suggestion of what went wrong, or will that all be discussed on Friday? I hope you have some time off to let yourself be an emotional mess? Sending you virtual hugs xxxx

So sorry LoPi 😔 hope you are coping ok! X x x

SilverLinings2014 · 28/03/2017 14:26

Lopi so sorry. Can't begin to imagine what you're going through right now. Be kind to yourself Flowers

Wanda354 · 28/03/2017 15:59

Sorry you have had sad news LoPI. I can imagine how devastating it must be, after going through so much to get to EC. Take care of yourself.

LoPl · 28/03/2017 16:20

Thanks all. The virtual hugs mean a lot. Tough day.

Hobbes - the embryologist said the egg was mature but a little dark, which may indicate poor quality. But she also emphasised that there's always a 30% chance of fertilisation not happening, so that's why they like more eggs to play with.... Really happy your latest scan went OK, and hope your follicles produce the good eggs!

xx

How are others on the 2ww feeling (apart from desperate to speed up the passing of the 2ww)?

I have some kind of AF-y signs - bit of a sore lower back, sore boobs, the occasional twinge/cramp. 2dp5dt so def too soon for any PG symptoms. Does this mean I'm about to get AF? Or is it the progesterone?

jodybug0908 · 28/03/2017 19:09

Sorry I don't get all the acronyms!!! I always get lost! I think all the symptoms you might get that could be early pg symptoms could also be attributed to side effect of the progesterone. Xxx I'd love to think they might be but unfortunately symptoms are identical!

Ozzyboo · 28/03/2017 19:49

Jodybug0908 I'm so glad some one said it 😂 I get lost too! I can kind of get the gist sometimes but other times I'm completely lost! I'm such a newbie 🙈

Hhno2 · 28/03/2017 20:16

I'm going crazy low back ache and the weirdest twinge pulling feeling buuuut I know a lot can be down to meds I just pray it's not af!!!!

blackcherries · 28/03/2017 20:16

i'm 7 days post a 5-day transfer and I'm experiencing some bleeding. Not just spotting either, normally i'd think this was AF :(

Quite upset but clinic advice is to contact them and carry on so I'll wait to hear from them in the morning. Feeling twingey etc too.

Hobbes39 · 28/03/2017 21:58

Blackcherries - I hope its not your period - I'm sorry you are going through this... Sad my period came 12dp EC last time, so I know it could be that - but will keep everything crossed for you that it's just heavy spotting xxx

blackcherries · 28/03/2017 22:52

thanks, that's useful at least because the clinic says bleeding before officially testing 'happens sometimes' so I wasn't too sure what to think :(

Clinic replied this evening and said to do 2x 2 pessaries rectally! Going to see what the situation is tomorrow but it was red blood earlier so not optimistic. Really glad we have the frosties though as the thought of anticipating it all over again would be too much right now.

blackcherries · 28/03/2017 22:53

also lopi gutted for you :(

Hobbes39 · 28/03/2017 23:14

I didn't realise it could happen while on progesterone until it did, so was a bit of a shock for me last time, and only really knew more from others on here. I know that it could also easily be your progesterone just dropping slightly, or irritation of your cervix caused by pessaries which is probably why they've told you to use the back door... so there is still hope xxx

Hhno2 · 28/03/2017 23:24

Black cherries hope your ok and hopefully not af try and stay calm do what clinic say it might clear up!!

kmmr · 29/03/2017 03:23

Lopi - so sorry to hear that, it's just so hard after so much hope and dreams.
Black cherries hope the bleeding stops and the embie is still holding on.

Wanda and Annab, I think we are exactly in sync. 2dc5dt. I'm so snappy today! Got in a strop with a slow server at a cafe. She was slow, but I was properly angry, and I'm known as a very calm person. Otherwise just more cramps, mild ones, but there.

The last 2 FET cycles I had no cramps and no BFP, so maybe it's a good sign.

The other symptoms are just annoying. Bloating, boobs bigger, nausea (which I've established is from my vitamins without food), but these are all progesterone symptoms too. Had them all last time, so I'm believing nothing other than a test.

Wanda354 · 29/03/2017 07:53

I am driving myself mad reading about early pregnancy symptoms online and trying to work out whether what I am feeling could be pregnancy, impending period, or the progesterone. blackcherries, in the course of my reading I've read some women saying that they had quite a strong bleed but a few days later got a bfp, so don't give up hope.

As well as the achey boobs and lower back, I have mild cramps - lighter than period cramps, need to wee a lot and am very hungry and thirsty. Am eating a lot of chocolate! If I am not pregnant this time I'm going to have to go on a diet as must have put on 5 pounds already.

Ozzyboo · 29/03/2017 08:19

Blackcherries I really hope it's good news for you! Will be keeping everything crossed 🤞🏼

Hhno2 · 29/03/2017 08:41

Wanda with you on that one eating tonnes of chocolate! Also my wee is bright yellow but could be from prenatal vitamins but I've been taking them for ages so not sure!! I'm so nervous sat is looming !!!

bjonesreborn · 29/03/2017 09:44

blackcherries hope you're ok.
Just had my follicle scan, got 5 on the right and 4 on the left, one of them is 20mm already so forget that one. Paid out for more gonal f (!) and back again on Friday for another scan. So relieved, what an emotional rollercoaster we're all on

Ozzyboo · 29/03/2017 12:57

What is a good number to have? I had 6 on the left 10 on the right.

Hobbes39 · 29/03/2017 13:11

Hi all - how is everyone today?
HHno - the luminous yellow wee is def vitamin B - I have that too..!
bjones what day are you on again? Sounds good! X
Ozzy your numbers are great - they don't want to have too many as if you have loads I think they are less likely to have mature eggs, but I think that only really matters when there are more than 25/30 ish. From what I've read 16 overall is perfect - just right - not too many but plenty... and numbers I'd dream of!
Blackcherries - hope you are ok?
And LoPI - if you are still lurking, am thinking of you xxx
