We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Thank you everyone, and thanks so much for dropping by trixie.
Had my appointment and I have to continue buserelin for 10 days and start progesterone pessaries for 10 days. That seemed unnecessarily cruel. The doctor was really nice though and said that I'm just a high responder - 150iu is a really low dose so it was surprising and they very very rarely cancel treatment as they know how devastating it is, but the risks were just too high. I still get NHS funding as I didn't reach egg collection, but I may have to pay for the drugs, which is fine. I'll get a period after I stop the progesterone and then I have to wait for 2 more periods then I can go again. Appt in 6 weeks to agree protocol and book in. So I'm back to waiting and it'll be late April at the earliest before I can go again. Maple and Gee, whilst it would be nice to cycle together I hope you get going before then for your sakes!

Good luck tomorrow Tea!

Blue are you down-regging or stimming? When is your first scan?

Hi to everyone else! Smile

geeup · 08/02/2017 20:35

Oh star. How frustrating. I'm really sorry you're back to a waiting game. Thinking of you.

star1980 · 08/02/2017 21:18

Thanks Geeup. I'll be OK - you get used to disappointment don't you!

Weirdly, we got my partner's latest sperm results today and they're the best ever and actually normal. Count 52mil/ml, motility 65%, morphology 6%. Could it be the proxeed?!

TeaAnd0ranges · 08/02/2017 21:36

Drug free today maple - feels slightly strange and sad to not do my injecting tonight.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. At the moment, I'm just looking forward to having a couple of days off work but sure the nerves will kick in tomorrow morning!

star glad you still get another funded go. It's a bit rubbish you have to wait until April but I'm so pleased for you that you still get an NHS round. Fab news about the sperm too so that's a silver lining - imagine how awesome it will be by April - super strength sperm Grin

Good luck house hunting ptera I think that will be a great distraction - so exciting!

Will update you all tomorrow. Really hope it doesn't hurt too much!!

maplebaby · 08/02/2017 21:48

Star that's great news about SA! Remind me what they were like before? Where do you get the proxeed from? I might still cycle with you - I think March was best case scenario and it's looking a bit unlikely I think.

Blue glad you are getting used to the injections already!

Tea I take it you have tomorrow and Friday off so also get the weekend after? Great timing! Good luck!!

I got a letter in the post today inviting me to a patient info session Hmm I called them and left them a message saying I had already been to one so won't be attending again! Also asked about the protocol meeting hoping to nudge them, although I think it's just a case of waiting my turn on the waiting list!

maplebaby · 09/02/2017 07:46

Good luck today tea. Hope it all goes well!

justtheonethen · 09/02/2017 08:27

Good luck tea!

pteradactyl · 09/02/2017 08:30

blue I love right move! Defo exciting, just hanging around now waiting for mortgage advisor to give us news. Argh.
star that does seem like a lot to have to go through still :( I know what you mean about expecting disappointment too, seems as though nothing will ever go right! I am sure it will though. Next time they will know more about dosages for you so will be abke to adjust as necessary. Interesting about the SA results though. Proxeed might be worth a try over here perhaps.
tea - masses of luck for today! Hope it goes perfectly :)

TeaAnd0ranges · 09/02/2017 18:04

E/C went well today thanks everyone. 12 eggs collected and apparently anything in the teens is good. The first bit where they put a speculum in and felt like they were cranking it wide open was pretty uncomfortable but then the sedation drugs kicked in and it was fine. Got to watch the ultrasound and the eggs being collected which was cool and only period pain type cramps though - nothing too bad. Will hear tomorrow how many were fertilised with transfer sat, sun or Tuesday.

Currently waiting for a Thai takeaway and I can't drive for 24 hours so I get tomorrow off work too Smile

justtheonethen · 09/02/2017 19:18

Hurrah tea, enjoy that takeaway- you deserve it!

bluebird3 · 09/02/2017 20:09

tea that's great news! Enjoy your takeaway and resting up a couple of days.

star does seem really unfair you have to continue meds. Fx you have a few good natural goes with your dh's improved sa while you wait.
And I'm stimming I think. I'm currently on 150 of Gonal-f. I do that for 4 days then start certo-something as well on Saturday. First scan Tuesday.

I'm actually excited every morning when I get to inject as its another day ticked off the checklist.

Yay blue that's great - you definitely do quickly become used to the injections as part of the routine and that's a great way to look at it - each one is one step closer.

Is it cetrozide? That's the one that made me quite itchy and I had to go into the unit for the first one as some people react to it. It will all go so quickly now blue.

I'm currently waiting for the call from the embryologist to hear how many eggs fertilised overnight.

maplebaby · 10/02/2017 09:01

Tea glad all went well and hooray for 12 eggs! Fingers crossed for good fertilisation rates! For some reason I thought it was GA for collection? Maybe it's different at each clinic! Hope you aren't feeling sore today!

TeaAnd0ranges · 10/02/2017 10:27

9 fertilised Grin woohoo!!!

maple I only had a local A as well as sedation and paracetamol. I didn't feel being injected with the local (which is good) but it was uncomfortable until the sedation drugs went in and then instant relief. It seems each clinic does do things a bit differently but I did enjoy watching the eggs being plucked out!

TeaAnd0ranges · 10/02/2017 10:28

Just a bit crampy today but no worse than period pains.

bluebird3 · 10/02/2017 13:41

9!! That's great tea! It is certozide. My clinic didn't ask me to go in for it...hope I don't react. I start that tomorrow. Glad to hear ec wasn't too bad. I think mine will be similar to yours sedation-wise.

On other news I'm on half term for the next week! Great to have time off but how am I going to occupy my mind for the next 10 days? Indeed to try not to obsess now.

Delighted to see some good progress being made tea!
Anyone else irrationally annoyed and sick of hearing about every celebrity and their mother being pregnant at the moment?!

TeaAnd0ranges · 10/02/2017 14:06

Yes where! And it's all twins!! I really think they have all secretly been doing IVF and have done loads of rounds and then just act like it 'oops. Pregnant with twins'. I'm not bitter at all!

I suppose just do t worry if you get a rash around the injection site blue as apparently most people do have a mild reaction to it.

TeaAnd0ranges · 10/02/2017 14:07

Oh and enjoy half term off blue lots of lovely relaxation and tlc should pass the time Smile

Whereland · 10/02/2017 15:17

If they were having ivf I wish they would say it to make people more aware. Chrissy tiegen has been very open which is refreshing, said she tried for years before finally having ivf.
I'm away for a few days at the moment and nearly had a panic attack yeaterday as had some spotting and thought my period was coming early, my injections are at home waiting to be started on day 2!! Thankfully was only spotting so I'll be home in time to start injecting.

bluebird3 · 11/02/2017 09:09

I have been thinking the same thing about celebrity twins. So many!

So have had a change of heart about injections. Had to add the certocide today and thought it hurt! I'm a wimp. Made dh do it as the actual injection needle looked worse than the pen thingy so I felt woozy. I think he's here every day from now on so can inject me if I can't do it myself. Going to keep trying though. He wasn't amused he had to get up at 6:45am though. Tough. He doesn't have to be pricked and prodded!

Hope everyone else is ok. Even though I'm on half term I do some freelance work so off to do that for a few hours this morning. Then can properly enjoy the weekend.

OP posts:
TeaAnd0ranges · 11/02/2017 17:02

blue you're not a wimp. The cetrozide needle is definitely bigger and more stingy than the others - it felt more resistant to going in!

Feeling super sore and bloated today. Felt great the day of e/c but yesterday and today have not been fun! I guess my ovaries have been through the mill and apparently the progesterone makes you bloated too but I'm either lying on the couch or shuffling around bent double. Poor DH has been restricted to the house, bringing me drinks! I can't bear it he thought of someone rummaging about again tomorrow if the transfer goes ahead Hmm

Hope everyone else having a fun weekend!

bluebird3 · 12/02/2017 14:21

tea sorry you're feeling rubbish! Have you had the transfer today? How are your 9 doing? Hope you're feeling better. Good for your dh to look after you. It's the least they can do compared to our role in IVF.

So last night when I put pjs on I found a really dark bruise where the cetrozide injection was. It was the size of a 50p! No wonder it hurt. Dh thought it was hilarious while I told him off as he is an anaesthetist and should be better at injections. His response... Sometimes you just hit a blood vessel...even the pros! I think that's why it hurt so much. Barely hurt today which made me feel loads better. May even attempt it myself tomorrow. Gulp!!!

OP posts:
TeaAnd0ranges · 12/02/2017 15:09

Hi. Transfer didn't go ahead today as 8 of the 9 are all developing at the same pace (and little 9 still good but slightly behind) so it would be difficult to choose the best ones for transfer. Need to wait til Tuesday when they are at the blastocyst stage and hopefully some clear front runners. I got the caveat that they may stop developing today and go no further but the embryologist said they were looking healthy so fingers crossed for Tuesday.

Still feeling bloated and crampy but much better than yesterday.

Ouch about the bruise blue glad it seemed to be a one off and today's didn't hurt. Hope the rest don't hurt either!

geeup · 12/02/2017 15:21

Well done tea. Great news you have so many progressing. I'm CD1 as expected (with period pain to match) so full steam ahead with first IVF cycle. Implications appointment in a week to get our dates and drugs hopefully...
