Cycle buddies Aug/Sept 2016

Anyone just starting a cycle or about to?

I've just got the dates through for my first FET to TTC#2. My first LO is 18 months and was made with the help of ICSI and IVF. I start down regulating in a few weeks.

I've already gone through various emotions and I know there are a lot more to come! Anxiety and indecision wondering how I will cope with a second child if we're that lucky and the possible age gap. Sadness that my clinic told me I had to wean DD1 from the breast. Guilt at thinking about another and no longer 100% about her. (Especially if I weaned her and it doesn't work). Stupid thoughts that led me to test without telling DH when my second postpartum period (after weaning) didn't show on time (only spotting, false hope that it was implantation bleed. It's nearly impossible for us to conceive naturally though. AF came this weekend so here I am). Scared that it won't work. The stats are lower for FET and we only have 2 frosties.

The first injection will be at the end of a family holiday. I probably won't be drinking but don't really want to tell them why not yet. Despite all this I am excited too!

Anyone want to join me as cycle buddies?Smile

Very quick update from me, I've done 3 tests this week and all positive. I had a trigger injection as part of long protocol but that was on 15th Oct so hopefully well out of system. Spoken to clinic and they are advising cautious optimism. Waiting now till proper test date on Thursday.

Twins!!! Grin

Brilliant, Astrid! Sorry that I was off mark but I'm glad to hear that I was! Good luck for tomorrow to confirm it.

Congratulation Astrid, keep us posted on your news xxx

Congrats Astrid!! That's fab news! Keeping everything x for you tomorrow Smile

Could anyone who has had a 21 day blood test please help if they can? I got my results today and I don't know if it's saying much... progesterone is at 60 so that means I ovulated (but I knew that), however prolactin is at 808 which is a bit high (average is 500, 1000+ is worrying). I have no clue what to think and the Dr wasn't really helpful on the phone. I also have really strong cramps since last night - one literally woke me up from the pain at 2am, but Dr said it wouldn't be related to results. I'm freaking out about an ectopic pregnancy, hopefully it's all in my head...

Goodthingscome2those · 02/11/2016 12:30

Hi tata,

Sorry I can't help with your blood results but I had an ectopic around 10 years ago (I was quite a way into pregnancy and didn't realise) but the pain I experienced was horrendous.

Really hope everything is ok for you and it is "just in your head".

Keep us posted, wishing you well and lots of love and luck xxx

tatatetelle · 02/11/2016 12:56

Thanks Goothings, and sorry you had to go through such a horrible experience Sad
I'll test on Saturday and see how it goes but will certainly speak to the Dr next week. I tend to feel pretty much everything throughout my cycles so hopefully that's just a little bean settling in!

Fcukthetww · 02/11/2016 15:21

Hey Tata, I had the day 21 bloods with a prolactin level of 774 last month. High prolactin can be a sign of pregnancy! Also if you've been on the Clomid,- that caused me some dreadful pains the week after ovulation. I was scared re ep too but apparently that's pain on one side going into your shoulder (yeah I dunno why either). I think we concentrate so much on our cycle that any twinge or pain out of the ordinary is alarming. Xx

tatatetelle · 02/11/2016 15:46

Bless you Fcuk whenever I'm in a panic you come through with the most reassuring responses Star I''m borderline about the cave and to a FRER..... or should I wait until Saturday? I'm so over all this waiting and guessing already!!!

Fcukthetww · 02/11/2016 19:23

Ha Tata, I think we're all in the same mindset- I drive DH potty with googling my symptoms! I did tons of tests this month- finally got the line 4 days before AF was due. I've got everything crossed for you xx

tatatetelle · 04/11/2016 08:19

So...I caved and tested this morning....and got a clear bfp 😊 Round 1 of clomid woohoo!! Let's hope it's a sticky one!

Goodthingscome2those · 04/11/2016 08:29

Yay massive congratulations tata, that's fantastic news Smile xxx

HelloMist · 04/11/2016 08:59

Yay tata!!!!! So so pleased for you! Xxx

tatatetelle · 04/11/2016 17:06

Thanks all! I'm so glad I have our little group to share this with xx

I'm still having horrible waves of cramps though so I've asked the Dr to call me first thing on Monday. Better safe...

Goodthingscome2those · 06/11/2016 14:35

Hi all,
How's everyone's weekends? Bit early but I'm chilling today all cosey watching Christmas films!

How you feeling now tata? I hope you're feeling a bit better xxx

ellesbellesxxx · 06/11/2016 17:11

Oh my word that sounds perfect! A bit of "the holiday" would go down v nicely!!!!! Wrote a few cards but got bored 😂 Cunning plan is to do a few at a time, not all at the last minute!

Hope you are feeling better tata!

Hope you are all having a good weekend xxx

Goodthingscome2those · 06/11/2016 17:18

Elle's how's the nausea? Any other signs yet? How are you feeling in yourself? Xxx

ellesbellesxxx · 06/11/2016 17:37

Ah thanks for asking... I feel sick all the time at the moment! And exhausted. Bit anxious as work is manic and I feel like I am not doing everything properly... but equally they have been sweet and said I just need to tell them when struggling.. which was nice!

What Christmas films are you watching?! X

Goodthingscome2those · 06/11/2016 17:55

Oh that's nice of them so is it common knowledge now at work?

Watched elf and it's a wonderful life and now watching "the crown" on Netflix, didn't think it would be my thing but I'm enjoying it!

I really hope you start to feel better soon xxx

ellesbellesxxx · 06/11/2016 18:29

Elf 😂 Excellent choice!
Not heard of the crown!
Not common knowledge... had to tell head and deputy as if slapped cheek or any other contagious diseases around I need to be removed from that situation!
Had to tell a couple of people as trying not to be sick in lessons 😷 Doh!
Not long to go before you go again lovely lady xxxxxxx

Goodthingscome2those · 06/11/2016 18:36

Oh bless you, I really hope you start feeling better soon.

I know I can't wait! Should be starting in approx 2 weeks.

I went for my first acupuncture session yesterday, thought I'd give it a go and hope it helps. I know you went for it, did you find it hurt? I didn't know what to expect but some of them hurt, she just put them in then left me for 40 minutes then come back and took them out (few of them bled too), is all that normal? Also she wants me to go for another session tomorrow which I don't mind if it helps, but £50 a session is going to cost me a bomb! Xxx

ellesbellesxxx · 06/11/2016 18:55

Hmm they might bleed a tad... they can hurt, especially if they are a particularly potent point... however I surprised she has asked you to go back so soon!
My acupuncturist gave me a chart of key points in the IVF cycle and when the most important treatments were... I will see if I can find it! Damn right it's pricey! I did find it really relaxing. Did you feel like you had a therapy session too?! I would literally find my sessions so cathartic! Xx

Goodthingscome2those · 06/11/2016 19:01

Oh if you could find it/remember that would be great. She didn't give me anything and I chose her as she is trained in zita west which I think is a fertility guru!

No I just felt a bit robbed when I left as she didn't tell me anything and after she put needles in said she would leave me for a few minutes so I expected her to come back and do something then when she did come back she just took them out! I did get some weird cramps/feelings last night but not sure if it was in my head or the fish and chips I'd just eaten Wink! Xxxx

tatatetelle · 06/11/2016 21:18

Oooh Goodthing is The crown any good??
I have had acupuncture although not in the context of ttc and I have found some spots more painful than others too. But I agree tomo seems a bit...soon, has she given you a reason why the sessions should be so close?

Elles I am so sorry you're feeling awful, but it's nice that they are being accomodating at work!

Honestly the cramps are still as bad, I woke up four times last night only because of them... I am expecting a call from the ACU tomorrow morning to have a chat to them but I have read on other threads here that it's pretty commun so I'm not too worried, I picture a little bean settling in and that somewhat makes it easier.
It's popcorn and a movie for me tonight, I have the worst week ar work next week.... 😥
