WANTED- cycle buddies who are ttc#1 and planning a FET in April/May

RoseBud2016 · 09/03/2016 17:49

I'm in need of some buddies! Smile

A long story short is that I have been ttc#1 for 19 months now. I have severe PCOS and don't ov or cycle naturally.
Last year I was told that DH and I would only have a chance of conceiving through IVF, after numerous other fertility treatments failed.

In February this year we had our first ISCI IVF cycle at Reprofit in the Czech Republic (DH has 2 DDs so we are not eligible for treatment on the NHS) We got 12 eggs, 8 fertilised and 6 made it to blasts! We had one transferred and fell pregnant! But at 4+4 blood tests confirmed that the pregnancy wasn't viable and at 5 weeks we had a very early mc (I hate the phrase CP as I think it trivialises it)

The last few weeks have been such a struggle physically and mentally but we are keen to try again so are planning another trip to Reprofit to be reunited with one of our Frosties! Smile

Scared and excited in equal measures and would love some buddies to share in this new and unknown part of the 'journey' with. X

The days go so slow. But I can't believe you are going to be 12 weeks already!

stealthbanana · 31/05/2016 15:10

I won't! Only 10 weeks. But I'm doing the panorama test and they do that at 10w. Glacial....

Vixxfacee · 31/05/2016 15:15

Ohh and then you will have your 12 week NHS one.

stealthbanana · 31/05/2016 16:02

I'm not actually booked in with the nhs yet. I'll probably just stick with the private ones. So if Monday isn't bad news the next one will be at 13w

Grumpelstiltskin · 31/05/2016 22:19

Congrats rose! So pleased it went well and you're feeling relaxed. I don't have acupuncture booked in (didn't bother last time either as I was feeling cynical after six months of weekly treatments and nada) but may well go in at the end of the week as they treat 2-3 days post-transfer too.

8mm lining sounds grand- not sure what mine is, the locum consultant said it was 'ready' at my last scan which obv is eminently unhelpful and I forgot to ask for more detail! I'll pay more attention tomorrow Smile

EETT (estimated ET time) is 11.30. Eek.

Vixx glad to see you still here and hope you're doing ok. It's so stressful!

RoseBud2016 · 01/06/2016 07:41

Stealth Thanks- the compacting lining thing does make me feel better, especially as a few people have said the same thing. And knowing that your lining was similar also puts my mind at rest so thank you!
I bet time is going super slowly for you- I hope that WHEN you get good news on Monday things start to speed the heck up.

Grumpel the best of luck for today my lovely! I'll be thinking of you with your legs akimbo WinkGrin 2 hours to go!!!

Vixx I'm hoping you've taken today off work too, to rest some more? Friday is getting closer. I'm rooting for you X

Frostigrump on board! A really smooth transfer, which was obv great. Also got a picture this time of the embie bring squirted in. It's essentially a white blob in a mass of grey but oh well.

OTD is, of course, the day we move house. I sense a lot of packing and otherwise hard labour for DH coming up while I direct from the sidelines!

Hope everyone is doing well. X

Vixxfacee · 01/06/2016 16:23

Yay the final two are now PUPO!
Congratulations. So by this time next week we could be having 2 more positive tests. Exciting times.
I went to work. Still feeling sicky. Friday is not long away now.

RoseBud2016 · 01/06/2016 16:54

Grumpel Congratulations! What day do you move house? My OTD is not until 14th June! Reprofit always make you wait until 14dp5dt- the longest I've seen. I bet your OTD is before mine, yes? Not that I'm likely to last long anyhow.

I first tested at 6dp5dt last time and got a faint second line. Might aim for a middle ground between the 2 Grin

Grumpelstiltskin · 01/06/2016 16:58

14th!! Do they WANT you to go out of your mind??
Mine's 10th. So I have my blood test then drive to new house and unpack it. At least it'll be distracting if bad news.
I tested at 8dp5dt last time (ie day before otd) and got a strong line. Will prob do the same, though I'm not known for my willpower...

Sicky is somewhat promising, vixx. Fingers crossed.

RoseBud2016 · 01/06/2016 17:23

I know, right? It's utter craziness. I'm going to pick a date that is middle ground instead. It all depends on if Reprofit will sign me off work next wk or not (still waiting for their final decision as it isn't "standard" procedure) If they do I'll test mid next wk. If they don't I'll wait until next weekend.

Wish they would bloody well hurry up and decide!

Rose my OTD was 14 days later as well. But I tested 6 days.
Grumpel yours isn't too long. Are you just doing a blood test or one at home too?

Lying on the sofa with a bucket next to me now!

RoseBud2016 · 02/06/2016 08:14

Vixx Is it weird that I'm happy for you and your sickness bucket ?! Grin This HAS to be a good sign for tomorrow, surely X

I have the most painful sore throat- I'm really hoping this isn't an immune response to ET. Confused

Yay grumpel! Glad everything went smoothly. Double pupo on this thread, so fantastic.

vixx keeping everything crossed. As rose says, sickness is good! Not long to wait now. Really hoping everything will be ok.

rose I got a horrible sore throat about 4 days after transfer. I think from my recollection of my extensive googling at the time it is meant to be a good sign?

Afm am having a nice holiday although have been v tired and sick so not the best ever. Highlight was having to leg it out of a cathedral in a hilltop town yesterday to vomit in the bin in the main square in front of a crowd of horrified tourists. Not good!!

Vixxfacee · 02/06/2016 08:28

Rose I've read lots of accounts of sore throats bring a good sign! You're going to be symptom watching everything now! Grin

Ah stealth how bad is the sickness?

Woke up sick too so hopefully some good news tomorrow!

stealthbanana · 02/06/2016 09:15

Good days and bad days vixx.

Am constantly nauseous but I seem to have a "good day" (no actual vomiting) followed by a terrible day (lots of vomiting) followed by something in between (retching but no vomiting). I am still on metformin for my PCOS which doesn't interact well with stodgy carbs - I suspect that is what's causing most of the actual vom given that 99% of my diet is stodgy carbs atm!

Will keep everything crossed that your little bean is hanging in there. What time is your scan tomorrow?

Vixxfacee · 02/06/2016 11:07

I think the retching is thextremely worst! Hopefully you only have 2 or 3 more weeks of sickness. How are you feeling today?

It's at 12:30.

stealthbanana · 02/06/2016 15:35

I hope so! As long as it's a healthy baby I don't mind so much. Feeling a little better today actually - it's a good day. So random!

Grumpelstiltskin · 02/06/2016 15:38

OK, I caught up a bit earlier on the chat, felt somewhat paranoid that I didn't have a sore throat too (a grand total of 24 hours after ET, mind), googled it etc. Now a few hours later I DEFINITELY have one! Not psychosomatic or anything to do with the fact that DH has had a snotty cold all week, at all... Hmm

Sorry to hear about sicky-feelings and especially the public vomiting, but simultaneously pleased they're such good symptoms! Hopefully rose and I will feel just as crap in a couple of weeks!

RoseBud2016 · 03/06/2016 06:57

Pahaha! Loving the public vom story Stealth Gave those tourists something different to talk about WinkGrin You poor thing!

Vixx the best of luck for your scan today. I have everything crossed for you xxx

Grumpel if we both have a sore throat then it MUST be a symptom!Wink I'm snotty and heady now too.... Sounds suspiciously like I've caught a horrible cold from the hotels air con to me Angry How are you doing?

So we got back from Czech late last night and I'm so snotty that I can't sleep unless I breathe through my mouth (which I HATE!) so it's safe to say I slept badly again last night. Luckily for me I have a date with the sofa and DVDs planned for today.
I'm also reading this very interesting I was crying like baby on the plane home reading it book called "the pursuit of motherhood" by Jessica Hepburn. It sounds trite but it's a true story about her own infertility battle and I can't stop reading it.

stealthbanana · 03/06/2016 10:16

GOOD LUCK for today vixx. Sending lots of positive vibes your way.

rose will check the book out, sounds interesting. Sorry to hear you're feeling snotty, a duvet day sounds just the ticket!

Vixxfacee · 03/06/2016 14:31

Thank you everyone. Had my scan and saw the heartbeating. She said everything is looking good but mentioned to me that I'm measuring 5.3 rather than 6.1 but at that small it's easy to get things wrong. But that has worried me.

stealthbanana · 03/06/2016 16:41

That's wonderful news vixx. I believe it's normal to be +/- up to a week off in the early days. (I was 2 days behind.) But, you know, more worry and stress etc. When will they scan you again?

Vixxfacee · 03/06/2016 18:16

Oh you were 2 days behind, that makes me feel a bit better. Was stupid and googled!
They said they would send me a scan date in the post for week 7 so I am guessing it will be next week or week after.

How are you feeling about Monday?

stealthbanana · 03/06/2016 19:14

Well I haven't had the follow up scan yet so don't take too much comfort from me!

Am ok. Swinging between optimism and wild moments of dread panic. I confirmed my antenatal care today despite feeling like I have definitely triggered something going wrong now by daring to make a decision on the basis the pregnancy will continue....

Sounds like you won't have too long to wait til next scan. That's great.
