Did my first needle tonight was so nervous was about to inject myself when I dropped the needle, had to get it ready again, then I just paused when I had to inject myself hovering the needle over my stomach, I couldn't mentally do it, it was like being in a dream where you cant run any faster, I held my breath and did it, I didnt feel a thing, not even when I pushed the liquid in. Will keep posting how it all goes, would love to hear from other people..

Oh Amara Flowers I'm so sorry. It's totally shit, and very cruel. Take time to grieve. Xx

Hyland · 27/06/2016 09:39

That totally sucks, very unfair.

Wispin · 27/06/2016 12:16

I'm so sorry for you Amara...was hoping you all get a positive xx

I've just done my first menopur. Fuck me! It hurts like a bad un. Do you get used to it? I had to lie down as I felt sick.

drinkyourmilk · 29/06/2016 19:01

Much better today. Took it very slowly. Red , hot and itchy- but I can cope with that!

Hyland · 29/06/2016 19:05

I always did injections very slowly. I never took menopur.

You could ice the area or buy numbing cream/lotion.

Hyland · 19/07/2016 22:44

How is everyone getting on?

bananafish81 · 20/07/2016 07:29

Hi Hyland how are you getting on? You must have had your scan by now and hopefully all is progressing well?

We tried a dummy FET and that was a total washout as I didn't respond to the oestrogen pills or patches. Dr said he's had patients who just don't respond to artificial oestrogen - but whose lining does thicken up in response to their body's own natural oestrogen

We know my lining CAN thicken up, and has done in two stims cycles (only had one transfer and that cycle I got pregnant) so we're now stimming me - to grow eggs to make my own natural oestrogen to thicken the lining. We're not going to collect the eggs, just trigger and hopefully, if my lining has thickened up, put back a PGS tested frosticle a week later

I'm only on 75iu Gonal-F, but as my ovaries are now "grossly polycystic" they could still go off like rockets. I'm on a strict shagging ban in case we trigger a bazillion eggs and end up like Octomom. Apparently we want to get me pregnant, not TOO pregnant Confused

We're also adding in immunes to the protocol, so intralipids, prednisolone, clexane, Lubion and aspirin.

drinkyourmilk · 20/07/2016 07:40

Wow, banana that's an impressive list of drugs! Fingers crossed it all goes to plan.

I'm in my 2ww. Had an interesting experience yesterday morning when I had to use progesterone suppositories at work - except they had gone very soft due to the heat. They are now in the fridge at work, so hoping people won't peek in the bag! Test day is the 27th, though obviously I'm testing every morning Grin. Nothing so far, but you would expect there to be.

Got a bfp this morning! I've had a big bleed so wasn't expecting it. Tested a few days ago and got a negative so thought this means I am- but clinic said it they don't take it as a positive until my otd which is wednesday. They also said it must be their test. Now I'm panicking that I'm not pg. Agh!

Smurfy1981 · 25/07/2016 09:11

Aw drinkyourmilk what lovely news- i will keep everything crossed for u and will be thinking f u on wed- ddo u have to go into clinic for bloods on wed to confirm it xx

drinkyourmilk · 25/07/2016 09:46

No- they just do a home pee test. Then I get more pessaries and an appointment for a scan 2 weeks 2 days from the otd

Hyland · 25/07/2016 20:40

Drinkyourmilk seems like a congrats for you. The bleed may seem scary but i keep spotting and have done on and off since about 7weeks.

Fingers crossed for Wednesday for you and then good luck for seeing your little bean shaped baby with a heartbeat x

Hyland · 25/07/2016 20:41

I also continued my medication until it ran out like they told me, which took me to 9 weeks.

drinkyourmilk · 25/07/2016 20:55

I took another test this evening, which has was positive again Grin.
I will use progesterone pessaries until 12 weeks.
Scan 2 weeks on Friday.

I keep crying! I can hardly believe it. Keep reminding myself it may still all go wrong.

Hyland · 25/07/2016 23:12

Very pleased for you x

Unfortunately the worry doesnt go away.

From convincing yourself that when you're scanned nothing will be there.

To every pain and niggle causing you to panic. Whether it be something you have eaten, being bloated, or constipation from pessaries.

Including pain when sneezing which me and Smurf have experienced. Researched all of this and perfectly normal including my spotting for an Ivf patient.

Weird tummy muscle spasm near the bellybutton.

The uterus is constantly growing and your ovaries are no doubt still recovering so it is not easy to stay calm.

Smurfy1981 · 09/08/2016 21:55

drinkyourmilk how are u getting on?? Is it this friday u have ur scan xx hope everyone else is doing well too x

Wispin · 17/08/2016 09:42

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to update everyone to my situation.
After my last round of IvF, which failed, the doctor said to me that my egg quality has declined and that he would recommend egg sharing. This hit me quite hard, I felt like such a failure, its also the pain that everyone feels on here when they look at other women with children, so here I am with a 10% chance of getting pregnant naturally or other option egg sharing.

After my first period after finishing my last ivf cycle, 3 days after my period finished, hubby and I were having sex, when we had finished, I had a severe pain in my stomach, I had to kneel on the floor it was that bad, I also felt very dizzy, I stood up walked out on the landing and thought I’m going to faint so I laid down on the floor because I didn’t want to faint from standing up.

Then while lying on the floor, my husband is calling my Name and asking if I’m ok, because I had just had a seizure, where I went ridged and was shaking which I didn’t remember at all.
So off I went to the Doctors the next morning. I was banned from driving for a month while they figured out what it was, because if you faint from standing up falling to the floor will usually fix the problem, but when you faint when lying on the floor, they have to ban you till they figure our what it is. Luckily it was diagnosed as possible stress from the whole ivf procedure and the fact that we are trying to sell our house probably didn’t help …but it was a drop in blood pressure, where all the blood rushes to your legs.. so I was able to drive again, its called “vaso vagal syncope”

The doctor said this can happen to anyone the sight of blood or seeing an accident happen things like that can trigger it.

While all this was being investigated, I had also said to the Doctor that I still have severe pain in my stomach ever since the night of the faint. I have blead half way into my period and then 2 weeks later blead again, then the next month I blead 15 days into my period then 21 days after that, Im hoping this month is back to normal.
Ive had an ultra scan, the results show that my cyst on my left side has now grown to 5 cm’s in size, and that I have endometriosis, the nurse said to me has no one ever said this to you,, I said no never, I ve looked this up and it can be a causing factor in infertility problems,
I’m abit annoyed that none of the Doctors or nurses ever said to me that I have this, I would not have spent £6,000 on a third round of IVf if I had know this, I would have tried to have the Endometriosis attended to first to try and give me a better chance.
So now Im going to see a specialist on September 12 th to see what can be done.

I hope everyone is doing well.
I know this is a long rant, but I didn’t want to put my story up without all the facts.
Has anyone else had Endometriosis? Or know anyone else who’s had it.

Just checking in on Bananafish, Wispin and Amara.

Hyland · 17/08/2016 09:51

We posted pretty much at the same time lol

I'm surprised he recommended egg sharing, seeing as you were almost there.

I'm very skeptical with stuff like this and always wonder if they are to quick to push you in the direction of a donor.

I personally would be tempted to get another opinion. I wouldn't mention what you've been advised so bot to impact their view.

Just to be sure..

Hyland · 17/08/2016 09:54

Are they saying they missed the endometriosis or they knew it was there all along an no one told you?
