Did my first needle tonight was so nervous was about to inject myself when I dropped the needle, had to get it ready again, then I just paused when I had to inject myself hovering the needle over my stomach, I couldn't mentally do it, it was like being in a dream where you cant run any faster, I held my breath and did it, I didnt feel a thing, not even when I pushed the liquid in. Will keep posting how it all goes, would love to hear from other people..

I find doing the Manipur an ordeal, getting all of the liquid out of th little bottles every last drop is a little stressful..I'm always getting a vacume in the needle..

Started my stims tonight! Scan was fine. Wispin getting a vacuum bubble is normal, just tap the needle and move the plunger gently up. If a little drop pops out that will do no harm.

I am hoping to feel a bit more like myself. Went to clinic today and for some reason I felt really sad afterwards, it was almost like when I realised it was not going to happen naturally for us. Just a bit of a wave of grief really. Also had a few pregnancy announcements amongst friends recently. Some friends have been great but some have been giving me well meaning advice like "don't let it take over your life" etc plus suggestions of hobbies I could take up instead of having a family. And they all got pregnant with 2 months of trying! Aargh! But I can see from the boards here that that kind of comment is pretty common anyway.

Let's keep trucking ladies!

I had over 20 follicules but was told most were tiny and not growing.

Had 11 eggs collected yesterday and was told this morning that all 11 were mature but only 7 fertilised this morning.

We've had ICSI so i thought that meant they would all be fertilised, obviously not.

I know we should be grateful for the 7 but what with the stats of how many will survive to blastocyst it dies seems like we may be lucky to have 3 by Monday, wait and see I suppose.

Amara123 · 29/10/2015 23:01

Hyland I wouldn't even think of the numbers at all at this point. 7 is great and all you need is one tough one to do the business! Just wait and see and have a nice weekend. Smile

Wispin · 01/11/2015 17:54

I keep getting bruises where I'm doing the injections, does anyone else have that..

OP posts:
Amara123 · 01/11/2015 21:35

I have a few small ones Wispin. After you inject and take the needle out press down on the area with an alcohol swab for a minute, I think that helps. Won't be modelling a bikini myself anytime soon between that and the bloating!

Hyland · 01/11/2015 23:41

I didn't bruise but i was told just to inject extra slowly and i really did go extra slow, so it felt like the needle went in gradualy like a hot knife through butter. So that it feels less like you're pushing it in type thing.

I ordinarily bruise with everything including having blood taken.

Hyland · 02/11/2015 20:35

How are you ladies?

2 eggs reached Blastocyst and had both transferred today, grade BB:4 & BB:3

I have another 5 at the lab and it is thought that 4 may reach blastocyst by tomorrow to freeze.

Didnt sound like they were convinced.

Wispin · 03/11/2015 16:37

Thats great Hyland ,ive got egg retrievel on Monday will let you all know how it goes then..

Hi Hyland and Wispin! Have my fingers and toes crossed for you both. Before I started ivf I used to focus so much on the final outcome but now going through it I think reaching every stage is a minor victory.

Like now I am so impressed Hyland that you have made some nice little blastos and have had your transfer! And Wispin you found the initial injecting so tough but you are almost done with that now. I remember reading a few posts from women who stopped Treatment halfway through a cycle and I couldn't understand it. Now I get how tough it is physically and emotionally and can understand what they might have felt.

At this moment in time I feel like I have 2 golf ball sized tender ovaries. First scan at the end of the week and I can't wait to see how it is all going.

Hyland · 04/11/2015 21:08

Out of the other 5 that were being left another day to try and reach blastocyst, only 3 did and of poor quality. £900 to freeze so an expensive back up considering the quality. (2x CC5 and 1x BC2)

I cant test until Friday 13th !!!!

Really quite difficult to occupy your mind on stuff other than little eggs inside me praying they have implanted by now.

The clinic gave me a little usb stick man for keeps that shows the data of the two eggs on video sped up over a minute or so. Felt very surreal and something you wouldnt ordinarily see outside the body.

Havent watched again as i think i may get obsessed lol

Really worried that I'm totally expecting it to work and worried about how devastated i will be if it doesnt.

Have you had your first blood test since taking the stimms Amara?

Wispin I assume that means you will take the trigger injection on Saturday. I found the links on you tube very helpful mixing the water and powder.

Wispin · 04/11/2015 21:19

Ive had my dosage of Menopur upped from 300mm to 450mm, I have a cyst on my left ovarie , my first scan showed 5 follicles after upping my dosage on the 2nd scan there are now 8 follicles growing ... :) my egg collection has been moved from Monday to Wednesdayof next week..I'm really nervous about the op..can anyone tell me how you feel afterwards....

Amara123 · 04/11/2015 22:57

I'm really rooting for you Hyland. No blood test yet but need to call the clinic tomorrow. Had a bit of a meltdown tonight, just felt really exhausted and tearful and hormonal. I think I just need a really good rest. Hopefully not long to go!

Wispin this is my first I've so I don't know how ec goes. But if you are being sedated you will feel woozy for the rest of the day I reckon.

Ivf is so weird in the way it seems to be so different for everyone. Ive read posts where people say they barely noticed they were on ivf and sailed through and others who have had a tougher time. Best of luck though, it sounds like they are keeping a close eye on you.

Hyland · 05/11/2015 09:02

I felt fine after egg collection, bled only a little.

They told me i might feel faint if i didnt get something to eat other than the biscuits. As our drive home was 1hour n half approx. So I just had 2 tiny packs instead, which i dunked into my decaf .

I did have 2x paracetamol and 2x ibuprofen the next morning.

Hyland · 05/11/2015 09:06

ahhh bless think i can sympathise with feeling tired. I came home from work a few times and just slept. Much needed zzzzz

Wispin · 06/11/2015 18:02

I'm so happy, I started of with 5 follicles , just had a scan today and now have 9...egg collection has been moved to Wednesday..by that could still change if they are not big enough..nearly there. :)

OP posts:
Hyland · 07/11/2015 07:56

That's great news, wishing you luck for Wednesday.

Hyland · 09/11/2015 14:29

Pregnancy test Friday and I'm worried sick that it will be a negative!

Antibiotics have left me with thrush so I'm quite grumpy and just generally irritable right now.

Wispin · 09/11/2015 22:56

Hope everything goes well hyland..ive had the trigger shot tonight. I had to take one more does of menipur when I was at the scan this morning..had to do it in the hospital.I did it really slowly, but still managed to get
an awfull purple bruise..egg collection on Wednesday xxx

Amara123 · 10/11/2015 07:46

Hi ladies

Had my egg collection yesterday- 17 eggs..waiting anxiously by the phone for the lab to call now. Very nervous! We have male factor issues so waiting to see.
wispin don't worry about egg collection, mine was done under sedation and absolutely fine, I just felt sleepy for the rest of the day.
I can't believe you are nearly at testing point Hyland! I wouldn't read anything in any symptoms or lack or symptoms, fingers and toes crossed for you.
Best of luck to you both!

Wispin · 10/11/2015 15:24

Omg this morning the day before egg collection...I have the week off..I wad just going to have a nice reading day before tomorrow..my husband gets up and realises he is in severe pain.Kidney stones..I had to drive him to hospital...I was nearly crying looking at him he was in so much pain, and there was nothin I could do. He had a CT scan..which showed to 4 mm stones...he has now been discharged and needs to pass them at home...I have let the clinic know...hopefully everything will still be OK...I cant believe thus had happened a day before...

Oh my goodness Wispin, that is such drama! Your poor hubby, make sure he drinks lots and lots of fluids to help him pass the stones.

The clinic told me that 5 fertilised, loads of mine were immature eggs. Am willing the little fertilised eggs onwards. Have to wait until Thursday to know how they are going.
