What dose have they told you to take?

Waitingimpatient · 07/10/2015 21:34

Baby aspirin 75mg

lildottie · 07/10/2015 21:49

It's a small dose and its probably in the might not help can't hurt camp at that sort of level, but only you can decide what to do.

Waitingimpatient · 07/10/2015 22:05

I think as I've started I will carry on. Tbh I'm feeling as if things won't go well this cycle anyway (like last time!) but at least last time I felt supported. I've been made to feel like a nuisance this time and at a time of high emotion/anxiety/hope/etc it's the last thing I need.

I was also told this today when I asked about success rates regarding embryo thawing and was told "it can go either way....embryos are like children they don't always behave so you may get a call on the day if the thaw didn't go well" Shock

Waitingimpatient · 07/10/2015 22:07

And I apologise for all my ranting/panicking today. I just have nobody else to turn to. Dh says trust the clinic and nobody else knows so I have literally nobody else to ask as the nurse/doctor couldn't give me a definite answer

lildottie · 07/10/2015 22:09

waiting what will be will be. I was convinced I hadn't even got pg this time and I was proven wrong. It's all just dumb luck really. Just try to relax and take your mind off it. You just never know. As for thawing I'm surprised hey haven't told you about thawing risk before now. If it doesn't work out his cycle (and I truly hope it does) just remember you can go elsewhere for another cycle if you decide to go again.

lildottie · 07/10/2015 22:10

Don't apologise, we're all here to support each other and be supported Flowers

Waitingimpatient · 07/10/2015 22:34

Thank you I think you saved my sanity today Smile

lildottie · 07/10/2015 23:04

Probably only for you to try and lose it again another day ;) this whole ivf thing really screws with us!

Shellster52 · 08/10/2015 03:29

I'm in a different time zone here in Aus so I've been sleeping soundly while you've been going out of your mind waiting. I have not done research on Aspirin and implantation because I have a DS so I could already assume I did not have any clotting disorders. However, I did have very poor blood supply and always have cold feet and very very light periods. So when I did my first few rounds of IVF and only had 2-3 follicles on each ovary, I assumed (desperately hoped) that the reason could be they had poor blood supply too. So for 2 cycles prior to my 4th IVF, I started taking Aspirin. I was so excited when my day to scan for my 4th IVF showed 15 follicles in stead of the usual 5-6. I had a day 2 transfer of a 4 cell embryo but no success. I can't recall if I continued the Aspirin in the 2ww or not but can check my record when I get home from work if you like. But either way, impossible to tell if the Aspirin inhibited implantation or if the embryo never survived to become a blast in the first place. So I continued taking Aspirin in preparation for another IVF cycle, but then my cycles started going haywire at 45 days, then 18 days. I read that Aspirin inhibits ovulation and it certainly seemed the continued use of Aspirin was doing this to me since this had never happened to me before. I stopped taking it and my next cycle was normal again. But I then went to do IVF the following cycle and was back down to 5 follicles. So Aspirin definitely increases blood flow, but it definitely interferes with our hormones as well. For my next IVF cycle, I took Aspirin the cycle prior and stopped it about day 10 so I could ovulate normally, then continued it again. I figured if it increased blood flow to my ovaries, it would also help aid blood flow and get more of the injection filled blood to my ovaries to make more follicles grow. So I continued taking it during my IVF stim phase. However, despite starting with 16 follicles, only 3 grew! The Dr thought this was really unusual. When I explained that I was taking Aspirin, it turns out that it inhibits follicle growth. More proof that it definitely interferes with our hormones. So I guess my experience proves that yes, it definitely aids blood flow but yet, it also definitely interferes with our fertility hormones as well. Not sure if I am helping or just adding more confusion to your already stressed out mind.

As lil says, in the end it has to be what you are comfortable with. But hard to know what that is - if you take it and it doesn't work - you will wish you hadn't taken it. If you stop taking it and it doesn't work, you will wish you had! Hope a good nights sleep has helped and you are able to make a decision and move forward.

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 08/10/2015 08:22

Morning. My egg collection went well yesterday. They managed to retrieve 10 eggs woo hay. I don't know of what quality etc yet. Now the dreaded wait for the call today. Fingers crossed.

Sorry your having such a confusing time waiting i don't have any knowledge about aspirin but I wish you all the best and hope it works out for you which ever you decide.

lildottie · 08/10/2015 10:06

That's great molly. Waiting for that call is a killer. Fingers crossed for you.

lildottie · 08/10/2015 10:07

molly???? Obv meant miracles. Not sure what happened there!

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 08/10/2015 10:14

Thanks Dottie we are so happy, we weren't expecting 10. Sat here feeling nervous but excited at the same time. Watching TV trying to stop myself clock watching lol

Shellster52 · 08/10/2015 10:41

Oh yes, the clock watching. Been there. Every minute drags! Then when they finally did ring my mobile, I was so nervous I couldn't press the buttons properly and hung up on them! The next few days are like this, waiting for a call to say how many mature and fertilised, then waiting for another call to say how many survived another day. Can't wait to hear your update Miracles.

And lil, I'll assume no news is good news at your end. When do you next do a blood test or ultrasound?

Waitingimpatient · 08/10/2015 10:43

Great news miracles hope you don't have to wait too much longer for the call and that it's good news

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 08/10/2015 11:13

Thanks everyone, your messages mean a lot. Just got the call. 5 have fertilised. They've penciled in transfer for Monday depending on what happens in the next couple of days with the embryo's (are they called embryos now?) they may call Saturday morning and ask us to go in that afternoon. She said if we don't hear anything Saturday then to go in on Monday as planed. Iv taken that as I won't hear anymore news about them now till we go in. It's going to kill me not knowing what's going on.

Waitingimpatient · 08/10/2015 11:22

We will be in the 2ww together miracles !

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 08/10/2015 11:34

Will we Waiting that's good. We can keep each other sane lol.

Iv just booked with the clinic for acupuncture before and after transfer apparently it can help so going to give it ago.

Waitingimpatient · 08/10/2015 11:36

I'm having a day 3 embryo transfer on Saturday (providing all goes ok with the thaw!)

Been testing my trigger injection out but it's still a strong line on a super drug test so will keep going with it till its negative

Waitingimpatient · 08/10/2015 11:55

Acupuncture is great, I've been having it for a few months now and I'm sure it made my cycles a bit regular. The only problem I had last time was an infection where needles went but that is very rare apparently and has cleared up fine with a bit of Savlon cream.
I've also been having reflexology which is very relaxing

Waitingimpatient · 08/10/2015 11:57

I don't think so bessie as my periods are always about 10 days long so I had bleeding during stimms and the clinic said don't worry that it will soon stop and doesn't cause any problems. My lining was thickening up even when I was still bleeding which I found strange so I wouldn't worry too much. Easier said than done though I know

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 08/10/2015 11:58

Well best of luck for the thaw process Waiting hope you end up with a perfect embie for your transfer.
Can I ask why you are testing the trigger shot till it comes up negative?

Have to start my pessaries tonight what are they like?

Sorry I can't help Bessie I didn't have a scratch so not sure if that would cause your bleed. But I do hope all will be well at your scan and it doesn't cause a problem.
