Hi, im on my second month of 50g clomid hoping it works this time, i have been trying to become pregnant for 2 years now i already have a 3 year old daughter and they are not sure why im struggling to become pregnant again. I would love to hear some good news about clomid i dont think i can take anymore negative tests :( The hospital have only given me 3 months of 50g and said if it does not work they wont give me anymore! so i dont no what they do next. i havent really had many side effects from it just headaches. If anyone can let me know there experience that would be great thanks

And now my period has started. Absolutely devastated

Lottystar · 20/08/2013 21:04

Sending hugs your way Kerry, try not to be too despondent, hard I know but just focus on the fact you ovulated and it will happen for you. A few of you have already mentioned it in response to Tryingforsolong but stress must be a factor in hindering pregnancy too, it screws with your body's hormonal / chemical balance. Your period means you start your next clomid cycle and still early days for you with it Kerry xx

Welcome Ally, really sorry to hear about your loss. I'm starting on 100mg too when my period comes (totally irregular so never happens) Or I have to kick start again with Provera, which I hope doesn't have to be the case as it makes me feel just yuk. So another 2 week wait until day 42 if I need to take Provera, then a weeks wait for a bleed and then start 100mg on day 2-6. It's a long process when you have no cycle and it plays with my head big time. I shouldn't be impatient but we are in control of so many things in modern life - when we want something it's usually a click away on the net or convenient in the very least ... Can't really control our bodies tho and when a baby decides to come along alas. Nature (perhaps with a prod from the drugs) and fate decide xx

AdelleB1985 · 20/08/2013 22:09

Hey lotty star I was exactly the same as you, no period so used provera I had to wait 11 weeks once as my doc won't prescribe it on chlomid - however once I ovulated period came and I fell on my second round so there is hope! You just need to get ya ovulation going. Are you having follicle tracking? I found that useful.

I know it's hard Kerry but your going in the right direction. Your ovulating so that's fantastic, for a normal person that is ovulating it can take up to a year - I just thought to myself - well I'm just like everyone else trying now I'm ovulating! If you have it in your head it will take a year anything else is a bonus x x x x

AdelleB1985 · 20/08/2013 22:14

Hi ally
I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant but I'm soo worried about my scan next week - I'm praying everything is ok but everyone I talk to lately seems to have had miscarriages and I still haven't got that many symptoms! Boobs defo heavier and sickly feeling but that's it? Did you have any signs that indicated something was wrong? I'm trying hard not to get excited but know I shouldn't yet.
Sending lots of hope and baby dust to everyone, we are so lucky to have each other x x x

Lottystar · 21/08/2013 03:11

Thanks Adelle, what's follicle tracking? It's taken a bit of a fuss to get my GP to agree to do the bloods at day 21 next month as the fertility dept at the hospital say that they won't do it until my cycle is regular. Is follicle tracking only done privately? Try not to worry too much about not having clear pregnancy symptoms yet, every woman and each pregnancy is very very different. I was so sicky with my first son and then hardly noticed I was pregnant with my second. As long as the Dr is watching your progesterone etc that's the main thing. Try not to worry and just look after yourself xx

kerrylou84 · 21/08/2013 10:15

Ladies help......last night I thought I started my period. It was very light and pinky colour, and there was also some this morning. But now there is nothing. I have been and getten another 2months of chlomid and should be taking the first tablet today, but if the bleeding has stopped then what do I do? What if its not a period xxx

Lottystar · 21/08/2013 13:29

Have you taken a pregnancy test? If negative is call your Dr and ask what to do xx

Lottystar · 21/08/2013 13:30

I'd call the Dr, even. Silly typo. Could be pregno spotting or just the prelude to your actual period xx

kerrylou84 · 21/08/2013 14:46

Hi, my period is back.....damn! Never mind, 3rd time lucky!xxx

Lottystar · 21/08/2013 14:56

kerrylou I'm fine thank you, still have no signs other than the cramps, iv had these for ages now ,so concerned to why I'm still having them :(
I'm worried sick that my progesterone was 11 and feel it's very low ,so nervous about everything X
I phoned my doctor today and booked for a early scan at 8 weeks (Friday the 13th!) Of all days!!!! Lol I still love coming on here ,to keep up with everyone ,hope you don't mind xx (think i secretly think I'll be back on the clomid as I don't believe that it will stick xx Take care everyone

kerrylou84 · 21/08/2013 21:38

Think positively fingerscrossed! The more negative you think then the more likely your body will go into stress mode. You're pregnant......!!

Welcome mazzie. How long have you been trying?xxx

fIngerscrossed123 · 21/08/2013 21:49

Thanks hun xx just doesn't feel real xx

Lottystar · 21/08/2013 21:52

Fingerscrossed is your Dr monitoring your progesterone levels? Can't they give you anything to help if they're low? Try and be positive, probably feels too good to be true, but it is!! I can't wait to be pregnant ... If it happens, whilst you can feel grotty and sick it is still such a lovely time of bonding with your little bean.

Welcome Mazzie, I'm quite new here too - day 31 for me of my first cycle on 50mg of clomid. No af yet (not unusual as I haven't had a natural period for a year) and I haven't done a pregnancy test for a few days, last one on day 26 was a bfn. I don't even hope to be preggers this month as I'm sure I did not ovulate on 50mg so it's being upped next month to 100mg. Here's hoping that pops an egg Wink

Chin up Kerry, this coming month could be the one! Xxx

fIngerscrossed123 · 21/08/2013 22:14

Thanks hun xx just doesn't feel real xx

fIngerscrossed123 · 22/08/2013 08:56

Hi lottystar,I have spoken to the Dr and they have said my local doctors can't b proscribe the progesterone supplements X I rang the private clinic that I have been to and they have said they don't give it to people unless they have suffered from a misscaraige before :(
So annoyed as it's so difficult for some people yo fall pregnant then when you do, it just feels like your left drop get on with it X they have said they will scan me at 8 weeks, do at least that's something xx anyone know much about progesterone levels every time I read on the Internet it says they like them to be above 26 xxxii I'm a long way below that :(

kerrylou84 · 22/08/2013 13:13

My doctor told me anything above 20 shows you ovulate, but I don't know about when you're pregnant. It's all too complicated.......would be so much easier if you just had sex, got pregnant then 9months later give birth......without all the worry!

fIngerscrossed123 · 22/08/2013 14:18

I know, it's a bit strange isn't it?Not sure how I ovulated at 11? This is what worries me X

Lottystar · 22/08/2013 15:15

It seems bizarre not to prevent the potential loss of a pregnancy if levels are low rather than wait until you've already suffered one pregnancy. Maybe they feel you're levels are okay to sustain the pregnancy, I know that will not stop you worrying though. Try and be positive and enjoy being pregnant - how far gone are you Fingerscrossed?

And you're right Kerry. And another crappy element of having difficulties conceiving is that you want it so much that you analyse every little twinge and cramp. Both of which are a normal part of early pregnancy. We also tend to find out super early so 12 weeks is a long wait xx

Lottystar · 22/08/2013 15:16

Er, suffered the loss of one pregnancy even. Silly typo x

hopeful27 · 22/08/2013 19:57

So, period came and went and month 4 of clomid has been consumed. Each month is becoming harder and I am becoming more and more depressed. Went to see my GP today about it all. She's booked me in for day 21 bloods to put my mind at ease that I am ovulating. Been getting a lot of heart palpitations since going on clomid too so she's prescribed me beta blockers and going for an ECG tomorrow. Doc thinks it is probably anxiety/depression related because of everything that is going on. Everyday I lose more hope of becoming pregnant, bloody PCOS!!! :-(

Thanx for the warm welcome ladies :). Me & hubby have been ttc for 3 years on & off, just the odd month off here n there. I had an ectopic pregnancy just over 3 years ago, It wasn't in the tube but it was near to my left tube. I've had tests & was told all is ok, then told my left tube was blocked & now they say it isn't blocked, but I may have some scarring?. I just keep on trying lol. I'm really trying to resist going to boots & buying a frer tomorrow :). X
