Hi, im on my second month of 50g clomid hoping it works this time, i have been trying to become pregnant for 2 years now i already have a 3 year old daughter and they are not sure why im struggling to become pregnant again. I would love to hear some good news about clomid i dont think i can take anymore negative tests :( The hospital have only given me 3 months of 50g and said if it does not work they wont give me anymore! so i dont no what they do next. i havent really had many side effects from it just headaches. If anyone can let me know there experience that would be great thanks

Hi ladies, sorry I've not replied for a few days but this clomid has had me like a crazy hormonal woman and I currently have the face of a spotty teenager (with expression lines! Lol). Day 11 here and no ovulation as yet but early days still I guess.

Sorry to hear you didn't get your + KerryLou! Signs of your period yet? Good idea to speak to your Dr again and ensure they have checked everything although Clomid could still work for you, I know it feels like forever but still quite early days, you could be lucky next cycle.

It won't be long before you can tell the world Fingerscrossed, hang in there :)

KW - pleased all is going well x

I'm [email protected] on FB. Happy to be added by you guys although obviously me being on clomid is not common knowledge ;)

Hi nikkielouise, welcome to the group :)
I was trying for 1 year and 5 months before they let me have it, and had a laposcopy and hystorscopy before they would let me to check everything was okay ,I was having periods but not showing I was ovulating and when I had my bloods they were only at level 2 ,so without the clomid I wouldn't of fallen X and I was extremely lucky that I fell on my first round :)
Still very early stages just over 9 weeks X

Congrats Hun :) thinks its 13 months for me now, I did have bloods and apparently I ovulated that month but with my periods all over places I can never pin point and we use to dtd every other day from day I finished period to start next months so surely I can't miss it doing that. Just the thought of trying another year without help stresses me out and upset me that they would make me wait so long. Hoping tomorrow with it being a bloke he might feel sorry and either he prescribes it or he refers me but only time will tell I guess! But will update soon as I know what is what fingers crossed for me :-)

Hi NikkiLouise, welcome to the group. I was trying about 9 months roughly before referral but as I was diagnosed with PCOS and had no periods for a year they put me on Clomid pretty quickly. Round 2 on 100mg for me and still no sign of ovulation on day 14, starting to think 100 mg is not going to work either! :( I hope your Dr refers you, try and push and just say it is really making you anxious and worried. The while process can just feel like forever... Xx

Hope you're feeling happier KerryLou and KW18 I can't find you on FB, I have looked! :) Xx

Finger crossed thanks and I will :)

Lottystar, that's why I think they will make me wait for another year because I'm only suffering with irregualr periods I really don't want to have to wait!

I have tried for kids before with an ex we was only trying for about 3 months though before we split why do they makes things so hard for us hey least we know when we finally do have these precious children they will certainly be loved and cherished!! :)

Welcome to the group nikki. We have been trying for about 15 months now. I had really irregular cycles, I could sometimes go 5months or more without a period. Blood tests came back negative of ovulating, with a measly 2.1. I was tested for pcos which cam back all clear, then told to loose a stone which I did, then I was prescribed chlomid.
1st month I felt ovulation pain and bloods came back 133, 2nd month they were 113 and both months my cycle was 27 days.
This month, month 3, I didn't feel any ovulation pain until day 25, and I am now on day 35 with no period and about 4 negative pregnancy tests xxx

Hi girls when just come out of the doctors they want us to try for another 3 months then they will refer if nothing has happened but our nhs is skint so they won't offer me any treatment if test come back ok unless I pay privately! So here's to the next 3 months and if nothing and they won't offer me anything ill look to getting it else where!!!! So annoyed and upset!!

Oh Nikki, I can imagine you're disappointed. I would be too - you go to your Doctors and you think they will be proactive and unfortunately with fertility issues it seems to be luck of the draw. I'm lucky to have a decent GP backing me but the fertility nurses at the hospital are so uninterested and it's only my GP checking my day 21 bloods (progesterone levels) to see if I've ovulated, oddly the fertility dept at the hospital only start monitoring you once your "cycle kicks in". Well naturally if you don't ovulate then don't have a period, there is no cycle and yet they are happy to willy nilly up my clomid dose. Crap really.

I'd advise you to start taking Agnus Castus if you've not taken it already. Honestly, I'm sure it was the reason I conceived my first baby. I then fell pregnant straight after my first baby was born (women are highly fertile after a baby) but unfortunately once I had my second little man my periods disappeared completely - I've had no natural one for over a year. I'm extremely extremely lucky to have my two boys but I'd love another, it's just instinctual I guess. Hopefully I'll conceive again and our family will be complete. Anyway, if clomid doesn't work I'm going to ask about Metformin and then just go back to Agnus Castus as I don't want any expensive fertility treatment, I feel it would be unfair as I already have 2 children so would rather a lady who had none got my spot.

Kerry, you must feel so frustrated right now - keep your chin up tho, still time for it to work for you, your still young xx

Suppose will just have to see how things go and if nothing then find my clomid other ways hmmmm

Report
Lottystar · 23/09/2013 10:58

I'd not self prescribe Clomid as it can overstimulate your ovaries and make you ill if not monitored.

Try Agnus Castus for the next three months - it's honestly worth a go before going back to get treatment in 3 months if no improvement xx

What is agnus castus?
Yes I'm very frustrated. At the docs again Wednesday morning so might do a rest while there!
Sorry to hear that nikki......some doctors really don't understand xxx

Hi girls, firstly its great to have found an up to date (2013) thread about infertlity on the net most of them are years old! This is the first conversation I have joined. Will have been trying for 3 years in November, both had all the tests come back unexplained infertility, specialist has just put me on two cycles of clomid 50mg once a day, first cycle didn't work and I was devastated don't think the clomid helps have been very emotional while taking it, just finished my second course on Friday so fingers crossed start ovulating at the weekend- any success stories would be appreciated as like alot of you I feel like it is never going to happen, depressed and miserable!....(ps - been told our next step after this is either to keep on trying (I am 36 my fiance is 42 so don't want to wait much longer) or IVF @ £5000!) xxxx

I guess it just so frustrating that they won't help me any. Further if it all comes back clear and I have just got unexplained infertility and would have to go private for any help which I just can't afford I'm just really gutted when you see people get this like sweets and other like myself are t
